So what is exactly is a Air Jordan 1 Royal Boost Custom? It’s exactly what you think it is, a mash-up between the Air Jordan 1 and the adidas Ultra Boost. How so? Well, let’s take a look.
Designed by John Geiger and created/constructed by The Shoe Surgeon, the Air Jordan 1 Royal Boost utilizes the Air Jordan 1 Royal upper and sole-swaps it to pair it up with the Boost sole of the the adidas Ultra Boost. One quick look at social media, and you already know the shoe is receiving mixed reactions. “How could you do this to an iconic sneaker?!”. “Why?”, and other comments of similar fashion appear on my timeline. Sure the shoe is not going to please everybody, but let’s keep it real, the Air Jordan 1 High is one of the least comfortable retros. Giving it a Boost sole unit automatically makes it the most comfortable retro of all-time! The shoe’s new look may not be considered “classic” or “OG”, but if it means that my feet are going to more comfortable, I’m all for it. I can dig it. Thoughts? Sound off in the comment below.
