What If Michael Jordan Signed With Spot-Bilt aka Saucony

More details regarding Michael Jordan’s original signing with Nike continue to surface thanks to a never-ending debate as to who is actually responsible for pairing MJ with the Swoosh. Who deserves the most credit? Is it Sonny Vaccaro, who is trying to take the most credit? Is it David Falk, who represented MJ in contract and marketing negotiations? Is it George Raveling, who was by MJ’s side during the ’84 Olympics, and urged him ‘You gotta go Nike’? The bickering debate won’t seem to end and ESPN‘s Darren Rovell just reported on David Falk’s rebuttals to Vaccaros claims. Within all the back-and-forth, we are reminded of some of the more forgotten details regarding Jordan’s “sneaker free agency” back in 1984.

Kobes Ode To the Air Jordan 3 Drops Tomorrow

The Nike Kobe 11 “Muse” pack continues with the colorway designed by Tinker Hatfield. If you haven’t already learned or couldn’t tell by the colorway, it is inspired by Kobe Bryant’s favorite Air Jordan model, the Air Jordan 3. Also perhaps Tinker’s most important Air Jordan design since it was his very first and a shoe that helped convince Jordan to stay with Nike, the Air Jordan 3 is reflected on the Kobe 11 with this interpretation of the iconic “Black/Cement” colorway, complete with grey leather tongues and a Nike logo on the right heel (but why not “Nike Air” though?). Reacquaint yourself with the colorway that will be a must-have for many collectors, and find them at select Nike Basketball retailers beginning tomorrow, May 5th.

An On-Hand Look At The Air Jordan 12 Flu Game

Without a doubt, the Air Jordan 12 Flu Game is going to be one of the most highly coveted Air Jordan releases of 2016. The Air Jordan 12 is getting a lot of love this year, and we’re all pretty stoked that Jordan Brand decided to make the Flu Game colorway one of the many retro 12 releases of the year.

The new on-feet image shows the Air Jordan 12 coming in a Black and Red colorway all done in a leather construction. The majority of the shoe comes in Black, while the Red acts as the contrasting colorway placed on the mudguard on the lateral side, as well as on most of the sole unit. Pretty simple in color scheme, yet it’s still one of the most iconic colorways ever made on the 12s. Set to release March 28th for $190, how many of you are trying to double up? Need more images and info on this upcoming release? Stay up to date by visiting our Air Jordan 12 Flu Game hub page.

The Air Jordan 6 GS Cool Grey Is Only A Few Weeks Away!

While a lot of people who wear adult sizes were going crazy over the Air Jordan 12 GS that came in the Pink colorway earlier this year, I’m truly admiring the Air Jordan 6 GS Cool Grey set to release later on this month.

Unfortunately, I wear a size 10 in mens. I believe the biggest GS sizes go up to are a size 9 or 9.5. That means that once these drop I’m going to have to admire them from afar. The versatile looking Air Jordan 6 comes dressed in a beautiful Black tumbled leather overlay sitting on top of the Grey nubuck underlay. The clean looking upper sits on of a Black and Grey midsole and a icy outsole to complete the sleek overall look of the shoe. Nothing flashy or out of the ordinary, just a good looking shoe with lots versatility to it. Set to release on Saturday, May 21st for $140, are all you GS-footers looking to pick up a pair?

If you fit into a pair, I advise you, don’t sleep on these! Although I’ve yet to see them in person, I know this are going to be amazing!

I prefer it in its original cut, but this colorway is pretty solid in this profile as well. I?m biased towards the palette in general. I don?t think it?ll sell out though.

I’m a fan of the silhouette overall. The colorway is pretty solid and versatile. It’s suitable for both males and females in my view, but unfortunately large sizing is pretty limited.

NFL Players Go Broke Because They Buy Too Many Jordans

We’ve seen too many cases of professional athletes squandering their multi-million dollar contracts not long after retirement. There’s even a great ESPN 30 for 30 documentary about how sports stars lose what seems like an unlimited bank account, but thanks to financial advisors and simply learning from the mistakes of others, pro athletes today are much more prudent with their money. Still, broke athletes aren’t a thing of the a past, and apparently one reason, according to ESPN, why pro athletes drain their accounts too quickly is that they buy too many Jordans. That’s right – ESPN thinks that one reason why players go broke is the massive collections of shoes that sit deadstock or collecting dust after one wear. It’s far down their list of items that contribute to athletes losing it all, but what do you think? Are Jordans, and sneakers in general, a cause for their financial strains?

Author’s Take

Out of all the AJ 10s coming out this year, this pair is my favorite and it?s a women?s style. If my size will be available, I?d purchase, but this is one of the best iterations so far this year. I?m just biased towards the palette.

Following the release of the NYC pair and the upcoming Rio edition this weekend, another look at this upcoming Chicago Flag iteration of the Air Jordan 10, from the brand’s standout “city” pack is provided.

Simply a style that commemorates the city in which MJ has made a positive impact during his illustrious career, the sneaker’s distinctive colorway essentially corresponds to the Bulls. White is predominant across its tumbled and leather upper, as vibrant accents of red are prominent on the tongue, laces, eye stays and sole unit.

Further detailed with a black inner lining, the sneaker receives more vivid flair with the addition of university blue hits implemented along the eyelets and outsole. A ?CHI? embroidery on the collar finishes it all off to coordinate with its respective theme.

Retailing for $190, fans can purchase a pair at select JB and Nike accounts on Saturday, May 14th.

The theme is a cool gesture. I?m a fan of the model, but I?m not really inclined towards the colorway. Minus the blue accents and I?m all for it.

Air Jordan 1 Low Goes Swooshless In Pink

Jordan Brand’s move to go super minimalist and ditch the Swoosh on the Air Jordan 1 Low definitely took the sneaker world by surprise, but the signs leading up to the decision were all there. The Air Jordan 1 has been a blank canvas of sorts for the brand’s newfound lifestyle sensibilities. We’ve seen simple monochromatic color selections in the “Black Friday” release, a David Letterman reference featuring Metallic accents, and a luxurious Pinnacle mock-up with real 24K gold. By skipping over the Nike branding throughout, Jordan Brand moves the focus to the silhouette itself, as a premium tumbled leather shines in a pastel pink shade. A luxurious metallic gold even lands on the lace tips for added depth. Check out a full view below and be on the lookout for these Swooshless Air Jordan 1s to release by month’s end.

Another Colorway Of The Swooshless Air Jordan 1 Low

Air Jordan 1 2 Air Jordan 1

Recently we showcased the first Swooshless Air Jordan 1 Low in a classic colorway of black and white.

Now, a fellow JB employee has published another rendition of the revised silhouette via social media and reveals that an “Arctic Orange” edition will be offered to the public as well. Composed of a premium textured leather upper with tonal laces, stitching and a clean white rubber sole unit, the model is essentially cleaner with the absence of the iconic check gracing its side panels.

While a release date has not been officially announced yet, sources suggest it should debut at the end of this month for $150.

Stay tuned in to KicksOnFire for additional details.

The Air Jordan 12 Flu Game Returns To Stores Later This month

Michael Jordan’s “Flu Game” in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals is often regarded as one of MJ’s best performances in the history of the Playoffs. For the youngsters who aren’t familiar with that game, but are still planning to cop this Jordan Retro release, you might be well suited to hit YouTube and enjoy some clips from that legendary outing. While wearing this black/red Air Jordan 12, MJ scored 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block while stricken with the flu (hence the name, the Flu Game 12s). You have a few weeks until these officially hit stores, so get familiar with the game and the shoes with a video clip and photo gallery below.
