By SoleInsider
One of the most popular colorways ever of the Nike Flyknit Racer will be getting a restock next week.
The Oreo 2.0 version of the popular lightweight runner from the Swoosh returns on February 10th at select Nike Sportswear retailers. Covered in a black and white Flyknit upper, this Flyknit Racer gets additional hits of black on the laces, tongue, and part of the midsole. The Swoosh logo on the side panels and part of the waffle midsole have been done in white for contrast.
Will you be taking advantage of this restock next week? Retail price will be $150.
All These Nike Air Force 1 Low Colorways Are Now Available At Nike
By SoleInsider
Spring/Summer is right around the corner, it’s time to bust out a fresh clean pair of Air Force 1 Lows. In need of a pair? Nike‘s got you covered with these brand new color schemes of their iconic model.
All three pairs are done in monochromatic fashion, as the leather upper is finished in your choice of Smokey Blue, White or Black. All three pairs have a sole that matches with the color of the upper, as do the laces and Nike Swoosh branding. Nike adds a nice premium touch to the shoe as the Tan hits on the heel and tongue tag give the shoe a really nice pop. It’s a subtle touch, but it works! Which pair are you feeling the most? Whatever you decide, they’re all available at Nike for $100 each.
Remember when we gave you a first look of the Nike LeBron 14 Out Of Nowhere? For the most part? People weren’t really feeling the shoe, at least not in the colorway. Well, I don’t know what happened over the last 5 weeks, but it seems like the release has become a hot commodity at least in New York since we’ve got grown men brawling it out over acquiring a pair.
As of right now, the Nike LeBron 14 Out of Nowhere has only released at select retailers. The latest retailer to have pairs in stock was Foot Locker’s House of Hoops New York location on 34th St. this morning. Not really sure whether the people fighting over a pair genuinely liked them or simply wanted a pair because they’ve been fairly limited as of today. We’re not really sure how the brawl came about but judging by the videos posted above, it looks like Foot Locker House of Hoops now has a broken front door that needs some fixing. Who would have thought a LeBron 14 release would cause this much commotion. Damn.
Nike Golf Uses The Presto As Inspiration For Latest Model
By SoleInsider
Updated February 3rd, 2017: The Nike Air Zoom Gimme “Cargo Khaki” is available now via Nike.com.
Introducing the head-turning new Nike Air Zoom Gimme. We’ve seen Nike Golf up the ante on its footwear in recent years, and the latest model is no exception. Inspired by the slip-on flexible nature of the Nike Air Presto, the neoprene mesh upper features a crazy LeBron Soldier-esque triple strap construction for lockdown support. The jagged razor finish to the outsole unit allows for superior grip while on the driving range, and should make for an easy yet stylish transition to the clubhouse this summer. There’s still no word yet on a release date, but stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News. In the meantime, check out more of the Nike Air Zoom Gimme below.
Nike Celebrates Super Bowl Sunday With Restock of Patriots Air Force 1s and Air Jordan 5 Black/Metallic
By SoleInsider
Nike is as excited for this Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup as the rest of us, so they went ahead and surprised everyone with an unexpected restock to honor both the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. Both of the Nike Air Force 1 “Patriots” pairs inspired by Pats owner Robert Kraft are now available exclusively for Nike+ members, and since the Swoosh didn’t want to play favorites but doesn’t have any official Falcons PEs to release, they went ahead and brought back the popular Air Jordan 5 “Black/Metallic” retro with Nike Air branding and the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Varsity Red” to match with Atlanta’s gear. Check out more photos below and head over to Nike.com to reserve your favorite pair today.
If you haven’t figure it out by now, new looks are never going to stop coming for the Air Force 1. Just when you think they couldn’t find any new shade in the color spectrum to throw on the timeless sneaker, Nike Sportswear surprises once again with an all-new look. Next up: this all-leather Air Force 1 Low featuring a “Smokey Blue” hue tonally across the upper and sole with accents in tan. Look closely at the tongues, and you’ll also see that the tags are backed with velcro and removable. Air Force 1 fans can find these arriving now at select Nike Sportswear retailers like Rock City Kicks.
The Golden State Warriors got another win on Wednesday night versus the Hornets, which is not really news at all if you’re familiar with their current dominance in the league. Just another win, right? There was actually something noteworthy about the game though, as Kevin Durant debuted an all-new sneaker that appears to the the KD 9 Elite. As you can see, the shoe is an obvious reconstruction of the standard KD 9, with a one-piece stretch collar replacing the rear half of the Flyknit construction. The other big difference is the thick Flywire cables added to the lacing system for lockdown support. While the upper is totally transformed, the tooling stays the same as the standard KD 9 with a full-length visible Zoom unit.
Get your first look at the KD 9 Elite here, and stay tuned to Sneaker News for further updates on KD’s playoff shoe.
Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 4 Royalty, adidas Ultra Boost Silver Pack, Nikes All-Star Snub
By SoleInsider
Besides the Christmas rush, February is the other big month in the sneaker calendar year. Between the NBA All-Star Weekend, Valentine’s Day, and Refund Check Season, the brands have traditionally stocked up for the incoming wave of cash headed their way. 2017 is a little different as Nike (and by extension Jordan Brand) have greatly reduced their All-Star offerings while adidas has mostly been focused on Super Bowl Week thus far. What does that mean for this weekend’s edition of Buy, Pass, Wait? We’ve got a smaller slate of big name releases to deal with so we talk about other things that are going down like who we’ve got for the big game on Sunday.
Air Jordan 4 Royalty
Nike
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (WAIT) First of all, Kenny (Barkley hating voice), I’m glad that everybody has caught on and acknowledges that the black, white and gold color scheme is a sign of royalty. I just want everybody to know I was on that bandwagon first. Second of all, I’m a little disappointed it’s the Air Jordan 4 and something for me like the Air Jordan 3. I like the theme and the execution, but because it’s the 4, I’ll wait for a price drop.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) The 4s are one my favorite silhouettes ever and this colorway is just a really appealing option in my view. I like how the metallic gold accents were kept to a minimum, instead of being applied throughout.
Andres Carrillo: (PASS, but Barely) If I didn’t already have the Oreo 4s and Bred 4s I definitely would have picked up this colorway. I just don’t feel the need to have 3 black Jordan 4s. I do like this Royalty colorway a lot though. The combination of black and gold is so nice.
Juan Carrillo: (PASS) When I initially saw these for the first time, I felt like I needed a pair. I love Black and Gold sneakers. After further review, I realized I still have a fresh pair Oreo 4s I’ve yet to wear. Big fan of the 4s but I think I’m good since I already have a fairly similar colorway. Nonetheless, it’s still clean pair of 4s.
adidas NMD Gum Soles (Pick One)
EIC Juan: NMD City Sock White
adidas
Despite my fear of wearing a white Primeknit sneaker, I would still go with the white colorway of the City Sock with the gum sole because I already have a handful of NMDs with a black primeknit upper. Something a little different and infinitely more dangerous in terms of getting dirty shouldn’t hurt, right?
Renz: NMD City Sock White
adidas
I’m a fan of the chukka-like aesthetic and since it’s more minimalist, plus just stylish, I’m pretty biased overall. The gum bottom makes it an automatic winner for me.
Andres: NMD R1 Black
adidas
My favorite would have to be the black NMD R1. The black Primeknit upper combined with the white Boost midsole and gum outsole is a clean combination. Instant classic.
News Juan: NMD R1 Black
adidas
Black/White/Gum, I like that. Very easy to wear and maintain. Classic colorway on the NMD. White is way to scare for me to wear.
adidas Ultra Boost Silver Pack
Kicks On Fire
EIC Juan: (GOT ‘EM) ¯\_(?)_/¯ Good luck at halftime of the Super Bowl, everybody…
Renz: (PASS) I’m a big fan of the silhouette, although, I’m not really crazy about this pair. Yeah, it’s gonna limited and the colorway is pretty solid, but, I’m just ehh.
Andres: (WAIT) Can I even wait? Since these will be sold during half time of Sunday’s game I know they won’t sit. Good job by adidas of continuing to give us Ultra Boosts with colored Boost. Very nice colorway.
News Juan: (BUY) The Silver Boost is a nice subtle change to the shoe. The upper is very versatile and looks good with practically anything. One of the better colorways I’ve seen on the 3.0.
Super Bowl Pick
Sporting News
EIC Juan: This Super Bowl is tearing me apart inside. It’s not as serious as say when the San Francisco 49ers are in the there because that’s my team, but there are personal reasons why I want the Patriots (specifically Tom Brady) to win and there are political reasons why I want the Falcons to win. I guess it comes down to how much badly I want to see an NFL team boycott their trip to the White House and one team is way more likely to do that. ATL FTW…
Renz: Mehh. Giants always hahaha, but, I won’t be surprised if the Pats get another ring. Being a New Yorker, I’m against Boston teams in general, so I’ll feel better if the Falcons take it.
Andres: I hope that the Falcons win the game, but my gut-feeling is telling me that the Patriots will win. It’s tough to bet against Tom Brady. If the Pats win, is it safe to say that Tom Brady is the best quarterback (or maybe even overall football player) of all-time considering everything he has accomplished in his career? I wouldn’t argue against that.
News Juan: I’d love for the Falcons to win, but let’s keep it real, Patriots are going to take care of business. How I wish my Chiefs had a chance to play against them a few weeks ago. #ChiefsKingdom #TomahawkChop
Thoughts On Nike Not Having An All-Star Collection
Nike
EIC Juan: I wonder if we’d be having this conversation if the people running the state of North Carolina were a little less to put it lightly, conservative. The process of putting together a new theme and aesthetic for something as big as All-Star Weekend isn’t as easy as going on NIKEiD and calling it a day. While I certainly understand the business aspect of bowing out if people aren’t buying All-Star sneakers and I expect there Nike to take a less is more approach moving forward, I feel like the move of venue had more to do with the decision than just abandoning the most visible NBA platform outside of the Finals.
Renz: In my opinion, I haven’t been into new bball sneakers in a while, so I understand if the demand for it is not there. A few models are appealing, although, I feel the Swoosh is just playing it smart with the market anyway, since it IS a business. They know and see what’s obviously trending, or what’s in more demand, plus the influence of fashion/other brands in the market, is another reason. The competition from other labels is great too and I think that this absence will bring out a better lineup in the future.
News Juan: I’ve only bought one Nike All Star sneaker my entire life and I’m already trying to sell it. From a fan’s point of view it sucks because you won’t be able to have Kyrie’s, or LeBron’s, or even Paul George’s All Star sneaker for 2017. b\But at the same time I think we can all agree that the last few years of Nike Basketball All Star releases have been pretty disappointing as far as the theme and designs go. From a business standpoint it doesn’t make sense for Nike to create an All Star collection if people aren’t even buying the shoes. What they should focus on is creating new and fresh colorways/designs. Instead of releasing two Kyrie 3s or two LeBron 14s in one month, cut that number in half and work on creating something that people actually want and will buy. Quality over quantity.
Andres: Pretty surprised they did not have an All-Star Collection this year. Perhaps they’re compensating by giving us a huge BHM collection to choose. Would have been a perfect time to release and All Star collction too since LeBron, Kyrie, KD and PG all made this year’s All Star team. Ah well, maybe next year.
