The John Elliot x NikeLab Vandal High Is Introduced

Previously working on the Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10, menswear fashion designer, John Elliot, has also reinterpreted another classic silhouette with the Nike Vandal High, as it was first showcased yesterday during his men’s F/W 2017 runway show at New York Fashion Week.

Essentially a premium rendition of the silhouette made in conjunction with NikeLab, the model is offered in two timeless colorways — off-white and black. Comprised of smooth suede, the silhouette flaunts a minimalist aesthetic with no-sew construction, while the model is further detailed with cross-straps on the ankle and full-length white rubber sole units.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for its availability.

Flaunting a tonal black hue to perfectly coordinate with its respective theme, the basketball sneaker bears a textured pattern across its side panels for a more distinctive look, followed by metallic gold accents located on the tongue to complement and pronounce its stealthy profile. Finally, a black and white splatter-like outsole rounds out the sleek aesthetic altogether.

Nike Just Released The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Binary Blue

It’s early on in 2017, but as of right now it looks like this year the Nike Air Force 1 Mid appears to be getting more shine than the Nike Air Force 1 High. We’ve been previewing a handful of tonal colorways of the AF1 Mid these past couple of weeks and we just found out that Nike released all of them on their site. One of those colorways is the Nike Air Force 1 Mid Binary Blue.

The Nike Air Force 1 Mid Binary Blue is done in tonal fashion as the upper comes in a Blue suede, and the sole unit also comes in a Blue OG rubber build. Even more of the same Blue can be found on the strap, Nike Swoosh, laces and lining. The only contrast on the entire shoe is the Nike branding on the insoles and heel. Blue suede sneakers? I like that. Pick these up today straight from Nike for $95.

Why Nike Basketball Wont Have All-Star Shoes This Year

A huge void is to be expected for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game. Nike has confirmed that no All-Star themed footwear has been prepared for the festivities, ending a long-standing tradition of sneaker releases that were at on point at the most sought-after items on the market. It’s only been three years since Nike’s “NOLA Gumbo League” born from New Orleans flavor was released, and the change of venue removing the game from Charlotte may have played a role, but the larger picture is that Nike Basketball’s signature shoes aren’t in demand like they used to be. But how Nike Basketball’s All-Star kicks and the category in general fell off so quickly can easily be identified. Does that mean the formula for a comeback is as obvious?
