The Air Jordan 17 just made its triumphant return this past weekend with the release of the OG Copper colorway. If you’re a fan of the 17 then you should be happy to know that the Coppers won’t be the only colorway releasing this year.

Jordan Brand has decided to create a new colorway of the Air Jordan 17 that takes inspiration from one of Michael Jordan’s biggest career accomplishments and the team that he did it against. Pictured above is the Air Jordan 17+ Bulls. This colorway features a Black leather upper with Gym Red accents on the branding, eyelets, ankle, and heel. White detailing then lands on the outsole to complete the Bulls theme. The story goes that this colorway is inspired by Michael Jordan?s 30,000th point that he scored as a Wizard while playing against the Chicago Bulls on January 4th, 2002.

When I first heard that this shoe would be black and red I was hoping that the hits of red would be more bold and vibrant than this. It?s not a bad colorway but I wouldn?t pay $250 for this shoe.

In addition to the Air Jordan 9 Low Black/White that will be releasing this weekend, we’ll also be seeing the next Air Jordan XXX arriving at retailers.

Jordan Brand brings back the Black Cat colorway by placing it on their new Air Jordan XXX. The Air Jordan XXX Black Cat comes in a combination of Black, Anthracite, and White making it a versatile and simple sneaker to wear. Looking at the sneaker we can see that the upper is built with a mixture of woven, knit and printed materials. Black dominates most of the sneaker while a black and orange globe lands on the tongue and and icy blue translucent outsole finishes off the look.

So far this is my favorite colorway of the Air Jordan XXX. Would I cop for $200 though? Probably not.

Did you take a look at this Air Jordan 10 and think the original “Steel” colorway was making a return? Well think again, because what we have here is a Gradeschool Girls only edition of the tenth Air Jordan in a close-but-no-cigar version of the the “Steel” colorway. Introducing the girl’s-exclusive “Pearl White” colorway, which seems to be the same as the familiar OG look, but with a white inner lining instead of the original’s black and grey checkered interior. Why produce a colorway almost just like an OG and only in girl’s sizing? We’re not sure, but pairs will be up for grabs beginning May 7, 2016.

Set to release later this Summer are more colorways of the Air Jordan 5 Low which has already released in quite a few color option during the first quarter of 2016.

One of those colorways that will be releasing is the pair that you see above that has been created for soccer star Neymar Jr. The Air Jordan 5 Low Neymar features a grey cement upper with black speckling all throughout. The entire upper of the shoe is also 3M. In addition to the flashy 3M upper we also see Infrared detailing on the outsole, the inside of the tongue, and the ?10? and ?23? branding on each of the ankles that represent Neymar and Michael Jordan?s numbers respectively. The rest of the shoe including the tongue, laces, inner liner, eyelets, midsole and side panel mesh netting are all done in black. Capping things off is an icy blue translucent outsole.

The only pretty cool thing about this colorway is the full 3M upper. Other than that I don?t expect this colorway to fly off shelves.

Gio Gonzalez was back this morning posting some more heat on his Instagram account. As if the Air Jordan 4 PE Cleats that he showed us last week for Opening Day weren’t enough, he now gives us a look at a few upcoming Jordan retros that will be releasing this Spring.

Spotted in the pictures above are the Air Jordan 12 Flu Game (2016), Air Jordan 9 Low Infrared, Air Jordan 10 Chicago Flag, Air Jordan 10 Los Angeles and a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 10 that we’ve never seen before. This new Air Jordan 10 is also part of the upcoming City Pack and pays tribute to the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The Air Jordan 10 Rio will feature a dark and light grey upper with yellow, green and blue detailing on the outsole that could represent the colors of the Brazilian flag. Finishing off the shoe is RIO written up by the ankle. With the 2016 Summer Olympics taking place in Rio this year it makes perfect sense for Jordan Brand to have created this colorway.

No release date exists yet for the Air Jordan 10 Rio but stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for any updates.

Gio Gonzalez has made Jordan Brand’s presence felt on the baseball diamond for quite some time now, and the Washington Nationals pitcher gets a bountiful rotation of upcoming heat before anyone else does in return. Gio took to Instagram to post some of his latest and greatest including the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” and a number of Air Jordan 10s belonging to that upcoming City Pack. But one particular pair caught our attention – the never before seen Air Jordan 10 “Rio”. The host city for this summer’s Olympic games is getting its very own Air Jordan 10 complete with what appears to be a unique gradient on the achievement-inscribed outsole. The Jordan Horizon has seen an emphasis on graphics and exotic textiles in a way that its predecessor, the Jordan Future, just wasn’t ready for. The latest “Brown Croc” that utilizes a synthetic crocodile leather throughout is indicative of this shift in thought process, as a monochromatic Hazelnut brown adds a boot-like tooling to Jordan Brand’s latest off-the-court style. Brief hints of Metallic Gold can be found on the branding and outsole to coincide with a splash of Infrared 23 on the Air Jordan 13’s traction pattern underneath the surface. When Michael Jordan first appeared on Late Night With David Letterman, it was more to promote his eye-catching first signature, the Air Jordan 1, than it was him going on television as you know, the greatest basketball player to ever live. In 1985 he was still just a rookie, but one with incredible hang time and a then-controversial sneaker that was slated to change the way athletes were marketed for generations to come. In honor of the occasion and Mike’s bold tracksuit ensemble, Jordan Brand will be releasing the Air Jordan 1 “David Letterman” on April 30th for $160. The Light Crimson upper is accented by patent leather Midnight Navy Swoosh branding to nod at his bold fashion for the occasion. If you manage to watch the interview, you’ll notice that MJ calls his Air Jordan 1 “Bred” ugly and that he didn’t have anything to do with creating that particular colorway. The Air Jordan 10 continues to drop in unexpected new colorways for 2016, as the City Pack isn’t the only collection of new looks for the shoe that welcomed Mike back to the NBA after his first retirement. The Air Jordan 10 “Vivid Pink” will be exclusive to a grade school size run, as the classic “Chicago” color blocking seen in the iconic Double Nickel rendition is emulated once again here, with the red swapped out for a more girl-friendly Vivid Pink. A premium tumbled leather base gets a subtle Pure Platinum touch instead of the usual white. The Vivid Pink Jordan 10 will arrive at retailers on May 14th for $140 USD. The Air Jordan 10 doesn’t look like a “New York” sneaker to an outsider of the city. Maybe it’s because we’ve seen so many New York tribute kicks that channel the colors of either the Knicks, Mets or Yankees that it makes this black and gold pair stand out from the crowd in an interesting way. Add to that the recent release of the very hyped Air Jordan 10 OVO in both black and white colorways and you’ve got a pair that some might say is flying under the radar despite their similarities. But something tells us that after taking a look at these in beautiful 4K HD quality, the critics might have something else to say. Can it replacement the hype and excitement of the OVOs? No, but those who might be looking for an adequate replacement will need no further than this video for the next two weeks.

Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan – Michael B. Jordan, that is – star in Apple TV’s latest ad, showcasing the voice-activated services by Siri and all that the platform has to offer. The up-and-coming actor is portraying a young Kobe Bryant in an upcoming fictional biopic on The Black Mamba, so he’s spending some time with the 5-time champ to receive some insight into his basketball psyche. Of course, a Kobe Bryant biography probably won’t happen until long after his retirement, but Michael B. Jordan would be a fine (and somewhat ironic) selection to play that role. Another Air Jordan 10 was recently leaked, but this doesn’t appear to be a part of the City Pack. As a matter of fact, it looks like this version will release strictly in GS sizing for the girls. Let’s take a look at the first image of the Air Jordan 10 GG Pure Platinum.

A quick glance at the shoe and it looks very similar to the Air Jordan 10 Steel, but being that the name of the shoe is currently Pure Platinum, my guess is that the color of the leather upper is actually Pure Platinum and not white. Hits of black placed on the outsole, collar, eyestay, tongue and laces breakup the tonal look of the shoe. What are your thoughts on the shoe? Not the best quality picture, but it does look very similar to the Steel 10s. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing though. I’d like more creativity coming out of Jordan Brand, but what are you going to do, right?
