First Look At The Air Jordan 12 Gym Red

You may or may not remember, but back in early January there was rumors that a new red and white colorway of the Air Jordan 12 would be releasing some time in 2016. A couple of weeks later we even gave you a look at a sample Mike Bibby PE colorway that was said to resemble the pair that will be arriving at retailers.

Now three months later we get our first look at the Air Jordan 12 Gym Red. The image above is not the best in the world, but we can pretty much tell what the shoe is going to look like. Think of it as a reverse Cherry colorway. The majority of the upper on this Air Jordan 12 is done in Gym Red leather while the side panels, outsole and branding have all been done in contrasting white. A black inner liner completes the look on this Air Jordan 12 that is expected to release on July 2, 2016 for $190.

What are your thoughts? Do you plan on picking up a pair? Let us know down in the comments and stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more images soon.

Author’s Take

Not sure if I like the Cherry 12s or this colorway better. I feel like I need one of these two pairs in my collection. I’m looking forward to more pictures.

Get A First Look At The Air Jordan 5 Olympic

This year we’ve already seen a handful of Air Jordan 5s release, but the only thing that sneakerheads have been displeased with is the fact that they’ve all been low-tops. Jordan Brand will be changing that as they’re expected to release a few colorways of the original mid-top Air Jordan 5 later this year.

Pictured above is a first look at what’s being known as the Air Jordan 5 Olympic. This colorway features a White leather upper with Black accents on the midsole, inner liner and upper eyelets. What makes this Air Jordan 5 stand out are the hits of gold on the tongue which represents the gold medals given out during the Olympics and on the shark teeth on the midsole.

This is the only image that is available at the moment but make sure you stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more. The Air Jordan 5 Olympic is currently expected to release on August 13th for $190. What’s your first impression?

Author’s Take

I wanna like it but I just don’t. I feel like a lot more could have been done with the Olympic theme and Jordan Brand just got lazy and decided to just slap on a gold tongue. I think this will be a pass for me.

Get rid of the pony hair and cut the price in half and I’ll consider. As is with a $400 price tag this is an easy pass.

Any European Sneakerheads Plan On Picking Up The Air Jordan 10 Paris Tomorrow

AIR JORDAN 10 PARIS 1 AIR JORDAN 10 PARIS 2 AIR JORDAN 10 PARIS 3

We already knew about the Air Jordan 10 Chicago, NYC, Charlotte and Los Angeles from the upcoming City Pack, but Jordan Brand surprised us all last week when pictures leaked of the Air Jordan 10 Paris which is also part of the city pack.

The Air Jordan 10 Paris pays homage to city of love. This Air Jordan 10 comes comes dressed in a black upper with a unique texture on it that makes it stand out from your every day leather pairs. A ?75? has then been embroidered on the ankle that represents France?s city code for Paris. Paired up with the textured black upper is a translucent outsole to create some subtle contrast. Adding some color to the shoe are the purple accents placed in areas such as the outsole, heel pull tab and ?75? embroidered on the ankle collar of the shoe.

If you weren’t aware already, this will be a European exclusive release and will drop on April 9th. Make sure you visit our Air Jordan 10 Paris launch page to find out what Nike stores in Europe will be carrying these.

Author’s Take

It’s cool to see a city outside of the US get their own colorway as a part of the Air Jordan 10 City Pack. Not sure how people would react to this pair if it released in the states but I would pass.

The Most Premium Release During Michael Jordans Wizards Days Is Back

The Air Jordan 17+ is back in action this weekend, as one of the more surprising Jordan retros of 2016 will make its debut after a decade-and-a-half absence from store shelves. The Jordan 17 was inspired by Michael Jordan’s love of Jazz music, as Wilson Smith designed a premium model to encapsulate the aging interest during Mike’s final stint as a professional basketball player. The original “Copper” colorway returns to reference MJ’s time as a member of the Washington Wizards as luxurious touches of faux croc-skin hits the heel to match Sport Royal and Copper Coin accents throughout. Check out a better view below and know that you can find this pair right now via eBay.

Sneakers In 4K: Air Jordan 17 Copper (Video)

The Air Jordan 17+ Copper (or “Croc” as it was called when they first came out years ago) doesn’t need a PRM or a Pinnacle designation to be considered a luxury model. The shoe was a standout back then because of its use of materials that had not seen on a basketball shoe at the time like the use of faux crocodile skin and the copper strip. Mix that with the shoe’s marketing campaign at the time that really played into the shoe’s jazz music inspiration and you’ve got an Air Jordan that was aiming just a little bit higher.

Tomorrow, the Air Jordan 17+ Copper will be making its return and we’ve got a special 4K look at the shoe so you’ll know if this is a pair that you will want to cop. Be sure to watch up top and for all the information, images and videos you need to make a decision, bookmark our Air Jordan 17+ Copper launch page.

Jordan Brand’s Pinnacle Series managed to turn the iconic Air Jordan 1 into even more of a bold, luxurious fashion statement with premium leather, synthetic snakeskin, and actual 24K gold accents. The latest premium Jordan retro will be this weekend’s Air Jordan 4 Pony Hair, as a number of upgrades push the retail price to $400 USD. Synthetic croc-skin and tumbled leather serve as the base while the mesh ventilation unit on the side panel is ditched entirely for a soft Pony Hair construction. First Look At The Air Jordan 5 Gold Tongue

One of the most remarkable design details of the entire Air Jordan legacy is the over-sized tongue with reflective skin on the Air Jordan 5. For this upcoming release, Jordan Brand is taking that signature mark to newer heights with this solid gold treatment that we’ve never seen on a release before. The white/black/gold mix is rather trendy at the moment thanks to the Air Jordan 12 “Wings” that hit stores last week, so could this Air Jordan 5 “Gold Tongue” feature a hidden detail as well? There are no release details as of yet, but stay tuned for more updates as we near Air Jordan 5 season (remember, the Nike Air pair hits in July).

Kobe Bryant Gifts Chris Paul The Air Jordan 3 From The Air Jordan Kobe Pack

Last night Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant played against each other for the final time ever as the Clippers came out victorious against the Lakers at Staples Center.

Today CP3 posted the picture you see above on his Twitter of the Air Jordan 3 in the Home Lakers colorway from the Air Jordan Kobe Pack that also includes the Air Jordan 8. Kobe even signed the sneakers and referred to Chris Paul as “One of the greatest competitors of all-time.” It doesn’t get much better than that.

We’ve seen lots of friends and family receive the Air Jordan Kobe Pack but nothing really compares to this pair that Paul received from the Black Mamba himself with a special inscription. If the Air Jordan Kobe Pack does ever end up releasing we’ll keep you updated via our Air Jordan Kobe Pack launch page.

MJ vs Kobe: Who Wore The Air Jordan 17 Copper Better

The Air Jordan 17 Copper is dropping this weekend and based on the reaction from social media and on the blogs, it’s the rare Air Jordan from his post-Bulls days that isn’t totally crapped on. Make no mistake about it, though, there was a lot of negative buzz about the 17 and it’s luxe 17+ cousin when they first dropped back in the days and a lot of it had to do with the superfluous add-ons like the attache case that made anybody that bought them look like Irwin R. Schyster and a CD-ROM that kids look at now like we once look at Betamax. These “extras” added to the price tag that while it felt novel at the time is largely forgettable in retrospect.

But take away the extraneous stuff and you’ve got a beautiful and luxurious pair in the Air Jordan 17 Copper, which was also known as the “Croc” at the time. Michael Jordan wore the 17s during his time with the Washington Wizards, but another guy that you might know also rocked during his sneaker free agency. Before he moved to Nike, Kobe Bryant had arguably the greatest sneaker season anybody has ever had as he wore every brand imaginable, including Jordans. During the 2002-03 NBA season, he wore Jordan player exclusives that he was recently gifted with this past February, but he also wore stuff like the 17s. As a matter of fact, some might say it looks even better on the Laker purple and gold than on Jordan’s white, blue and brown. Yes, it’s weird to mention MJ and not automatically equate with black and red.

Anyways, with the 17s dropping soon, let’s ask the Kicks On Fire audience who they think wore them better, His Airness or the Heir. Vote at the bottom and comment away. Don’t forget to bookmark our Air Jordan 17 Copper launch page for all the latest information, images, videos and more.

Masters Kicks: Keegan Bradley Wears Jordan Golf Shoes With The 45, Breaks Golf Twitter

Keegan Bradley’s spot as a Jordan Brand athlete is social media gold. Anytime he posts a pair of never-before-seen Jordan golf shoes, he brings together all sorts of groups that you normally wouldn’t associate with one another, namely golfers and sneakerheads. But that’s the power of the Jumpman these days, as the younger golfers are hyped to see the Jordans on the course while sneakerheads are blown away that their grails can look so good on Amen Corner.

Speaking of Amen Corner, Bradley blew up Golf Twitter again when he wore a new pair of Jordans for the first round of The Masters. While wearing Js for playing golf shouldn’t be that surprising anymore, what got everybody’s attention was the giant 45 graphic on the shoe’s upper. It’s gaudy, obnoxious and loud on an otherwise plain white pair, but dammit if it’s not the most beautiful thing in the world. Anytime MJ wearing the four five is referenced I am all in on that. So thanks for having a sense of irony, Keegan, especially since you’ve had a tough day one so far.

Michael Jordans First Appearance On David Letterman Inspired This Air Jordan 1 Release

Michael Jordan made an appearance on David Letterman three decades ago to talk about his new shoes – the Air Jordan 1. Little did we know that MJ would make countless appearances on prime-time talk-shows over the course of his career, but somehow this Letterman interview stands out the most. Perhaps it’s the red/navy jumpsuit that Jordan chose to wore? Jordan Brand is spinning this memorable moment in MJ pop-culture into a sneaker release – specifically the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG with hits of the bright red, dark navy, and light blue on the tongue label of the shoe. Check out these latest photos courtesy of SoleFly owner Carlos Prieto and stay tuned for the official release on April 30th.
