The Air Jordan Spike 40 didn’t do as well as Jordan Brand expected when the new Spike Lee silhouette made its debut last year. They even tried switching things up and created a low-top version to appeal to the masses, but even that didn’t work.
Now Spike and the Jumpman will be trying something else as we take a look at this grade school colorway that you see above. Utilizing the low-top version in an all-black upper, a checkerboard print and a polka dot print can be seen covering the upper along with contrasting red and white accents.
Do the subtle prints on the upper make you like the Air Jordan Spike 40 more than before or are these still a pass for you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Author’s Take
No matter if it’s a low-top or a high-top or if it has print or no prints, I just don’t like this silhouette. Jordan Brand needs to just stop making new colorways and give up on the Spike 40.
