Heres A Good Look At The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Perforated

air-jordan-1-perforated-all-black-2017-colorway air-jordan-1-perforated-black-spring-2017

No, these are not the Cyber Monday 1s from last year. They do look very similar, but they do have some difference as well. One of those difference happens to be that this version comes with a heavily perforated upper. Here’s a good look at what is currently known as the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Perforated.

This OG-branded version of the Jordan 1 comes in a Black perforated leather upper that results in a new “look” on the silhouette. Another nice feature on the shoe is the leather tongue tag equipped with the Nike Air branding. Tonal laces and Black lining all sit on top of the all-White sole unit. It’s simple but sometimes that’s what we’re looking for in a sneaker, right? Stay tuned as more info on this release begins to surface.

Velvety Goodness On The Air Jordan 11 GS Heiress

air jordan 11 3 air jordan 11 2 air jordan 11 1

Wait, is that velvet on an Air Jordan 11? Yes my friends, yes it is.

Jordan Brand will be breaking the mold this weekend as they’ll be using the buttery soft material on this upcoming grade school colorway of the popular Jordan 11. While the entire upper of the shoe is covered in Night Maroon, velvet makes its way on the mudguard (where we usually see patent leather), while the rest of the upper is done in a soft nubuck leather. Beautiful hits of Metallic Gold then appears on the branding as well as on the aglets for the perfect contrast.

Just like the Space Jam 11s last weekend, you can expect this colorway to sell out pretty quick come Saturday. Retail price will be $220.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Perforated Releasing In Black

The Air Jordan 1 is always going through a number of changes in Jordan Brand’s release slate. Sure, we’re always looking forward to the true and through OG replications and we’ll get just that when the Royal 1s return next year. But what else is the Jumpman planning for the shoe that released before the Jumpman logo even existed?

Today we get a look at yet another Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Perforated” featuring additional micro-perforated leather panels throughout for a nice, simple change of pace. While we’ve seen the Air Jordan 1 Perforated in a nearly All-White colorway, this murdered-out all-black-everything aesthetic proves that there’s more to come in the perforated department for Mike’s first signature silhouette.

The Air Jordan 16 Navy Returns Next Thursday

We’ve officially reached the Retro era for Jordan’s Washington Wizards tenure as the Air Jordan XVI, one of the first Air Jordans to release during MJ’s surprise comeback in the early-mid 2000s, makes a return in the original “Midnight Navy” colorway. Collaborations with Trophy Room and SoleFly paved the way for the return of this golf-inspired shoe (the outsole design mimics a golf green), but now its time for the OG colorways to reclaim the spotlight from the energetic contemporary designs.

The Air Jordan 16 “Midnight Navy” returns for the first time ever on December 22nd on Nike.com and at select Jordan retailers. See the full set of official images below.

Michael Jordan Told Richard Hamilton He Wouldnt Be Good Enough To Play In Air Jordans

rip-hamilton-air-jordan-all-star-michael-jordan-story

Michael Jordan holds the title of the greatest player of all time. Perhaps it was the Detroit Pistons defenses that made him hit the gym extra hard in the off-season before he finally grabbed that first title in 1991, or not making his Varsity squad at Laney High School one year that gave him his determination, but plenty of players have spoken on a not-so-secret aspect of MJ’s storied game: his trash-talking ability. Mike would get in opponents heads all the time on the court, but according to long-time Jordan Brand athlete Richard Hamilton, this even extended to Mike’s own teammates.

On a recent appearance on ESPN’s The Jump basketball talk show, Rip talked about his early years playing with a not-so-happy Michael Jordan on the Washington Wizards. When Hamilton was a rookie, he would frequently ask Michael Jordan about joining the Jumpman, a request that was later fulfilled, but it took some elite play and convincing before that happened. According to Hamilton:

But there was also the other side, where there was the talking trash Michael Jordan and at times, me and a couple of the young guys would come up to him and say, ‘hey Mike, why don’t you think about putting us in Brand Jordan Collection?’ And he would look at me and say, ‘hey Rip, my sneakers for All-Stars’ and at that time I’m like ‘wow, really?’

The story does have a happy ending, though. Although Rip would be traded for an aging Jerry Stackhouse, his time with the Detroit Pistons would lead to an NBA Championship and three NBA All-Star selections. Check out the full video below and stay tuned for more Air Jordan Release Dates right here on Sneaker News.

Jordan Brand’s reinterpretation of the historic Air Jordan lineage with premium materials will continue next year, as one of the notable releases will be this Air Jordan 4 Royalty.

Essentially maintaining its design profile intact, the basketball sneaker has been revamped with a black nubuck/suede upper, which is highlighted by metallic gold eyelets for a luxurious finish. Additional gold accents are seen on the rear with the enlarged Jumpman logo, which is adhered atop a leather heel tab.

Finally, the bold, yet stealthy build is offset against a crisp white midsole unit and black outsole to round out its design.

Get The Air Jordan 31 Supernova The Day Before Christmas

Air Jordan 31 Air Jordan 31 1

Following its initial feature, an additional look at the Air Jordan 31 Supernova is presented and suggested to debut on Christmas Eve.

This variation essentially follows up on the Space Jam-themed pair, as it flaunts a vibrant combination of concord, bright mango and black tones throughout its entirety. Concord simply dominates the majority of synthetic leather and flyknit upper, while mango accents are added across and on the enlarged Jumpman logo on the ankle to complement its vivid profile.

In addition, a Supernova logo is evident on the inner tongues, as it’s all adhered atop a gradient black/blue midsole and icy translucent outsole.

Retailing for a price tag of $185, you can purchase this pair at select JB and Nike accounts starting Saturday, December 24th.

The iconic Air Jordan 3 has received a lifestyle makeover this holiday 2016, as it’s defined by a new woolen composition.

Intended to suit the colder season, the basketball sneaker incorporates a cohesive textile fiber construction covering its upper, which enables more thermal insulation throughout. A sail white rubber sole unit further complements and caps off the classic, yet simple two-tone design. Notable details include Jumpman embroideries on the heel and tongue.

Retailing for $200, the sneaker will be offered in GS sizing as well and listed for $150. You can buy a pair at select JB and Nike stockists starting Saturday, December 17th.

More and more colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Rare Air continue to surface as the revamped version of the Air Jordan 1 expected to release in a few different colorways in 2017.

Here we give you a closer look at the pair that draws inspiration from the Shadow colorway of the Jordan 1. Cool Grey, Black, and White combine on the leather upper for a clean look. Defining characteristics of the Jordan 1 Rare Air include “NIKE AIR” branding on the heels and “AIR JORDAN” branding on the ankle instead of the traditional Wings logo that the Jordan 1 is known for.

Take a look at the latest images of the Air Jordan 1 Rare Air Shadow above and look for it to arrive at retailers in 2017 for a retail price of $140. Do you plan on copping a pair?

Author’s Take

I’m still torn on the Jordan 1 Rare Air. If I were to ever buy a pair I think it would be one that’s not inspired by an OG colorway that way it doesn’t look like it’s trying to be something it’s not.

AIR JORDAN 1 10 AIR JORDAN 1 11 AIR JORDAN 1 12 AIR JORDAN 113

Just last week we gave you a first look at this upcoming new colorway of the Air Jordan 1 that is expected to arrive at retailers some time in February of 2017.

Now we come back with more images of this pristine Air Jordan 1 which features an all-white leather upper with perforation hits on the heel, Swoosh, and possibly the toe. The laces, tongue, inner liner, Nike Air branding on the tongue, and midsole are also all done in white with the only contrast coming on the outsole which has been colored black.

Your thoughts on this all-white Air Jordan 1? Stay tuned for more info and look for them to hit retailers in early 2017 for $160.

Author’s Take

All-white sneakers don’t do much for me, even if it’s an Air Jordan 1. I’ll be passing on these.

I don’t like the big perforations that take over almost the entire shoe. These are a pass for me.

Our First Look At The Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO

Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO 1

What you see above is the 2017 playoff version of the Jordan Super.Fly 5, better known as the Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO. Each year, Jordan Brand releases a playoff version, and today we get a first look at this year’s version.

The Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO has a look of its own as the upper looks nothing like the Jordan Super.Fly 5. The upper comes equipped with a wing-inspired midfoot strap, some added support on the ankle, some elephant pring on the mudguard and an overall lighter construction. Thoughts on the shoe? Stay tuned to find out when these get a release date.

Author’s Take

I don’t like it. It kind of looks outdated. Something we’d see in the early 2000s.

Blake Griffin May Wear These Jordans For The 2017 Playoffs

Blake Griffin is currently championing the Jordan Super.Fly 5, his Zoom-laden lightweight signature of sorts with the Jumpman. Sure, the Super.Fly imprint isn’t exclusively Blake’s given its flagship status with the brand, but there isn’t a better player to define the silhouette thanks to Blake’s high-flying attacks to the basket making him the perfect spokesperson for the dynamic creation. Today we get a look at the annual playoff rendition (think of it as Jordan Brand’s own Elite takedown when compared to Nike Basketball’s lineup) with the Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO.

The Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO gets an overhauled upper with a new wing-inspired midfoot strap, additional ankle support, an elephant printed mudguard, and a lighter construction to help Blake throughout the playoff push, should the Clippers make it there. What’s your first impression of the Jordan Super.Fly 5 PO? Stay tuned for more detailed shots in the near future right here on Sneaker News, and head over to our always-updated Air Jordan Release Dates page for the latest look at the Jumpman Holiday schedule.
