Faded Swooshes Hit The Nike Mercurial Flyknit

The Nike Spiridon retro made waves a few months back, releasing in a number of old school colorways and some alphabetized collaborations that were notable enough to garner quite the buzz. The 1997 retro had a lasting influence enough to get the lightweight Ultra treatment and even went on to inspire one of Nike Sportswear’s soccer crossovers with the Nike Zoom Mercurial Flyknit XI FC featuring the Spiridon’s wavy midsole unit complete with that comfortable boost of Zoom Air cushioning for a performance twist to the lifestyle aesthetic. Today we get a look at the latest update to the soccer-inspired lifestyle line with the Nike Mercurial Flyknit Gradient Swoosh featuring a simple Dark Grey/Wolf Grey upper combined with a premium leather heel, comfortable build-in ankle sock and a standout gradient on the forefoot Swoosh branding that adds a vibrant pop thanks to an orange shade. The pair is available now from international spots like Titolo and you can expect the offering to arrive any day on Nike.com.

Nike Officially Unveils The atmos Air Jordan Air Max Pack That Releases Next Week

We’ve already gotten a few pretty good looks at the upcoming atmos Air Jordan Air Max Pack, but today Nike has officially unveiled the upcoming collaboration.

As you already know, this Pack will include the Air Max 1 atmos Elephant that originally released back in 2007 along with a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 3. The Air Max 1 stays true to the design of the original for the most part with a few subtle changes like a Jumpman on the semi-translucent outsole and an elephant printed insole. As for the Air Jordan 3, it comes dressed in Nike’s iconic Safari print for the first time ? a tribute to both the 1987 Nike Air Safari (one fourth of the ground-breaking “Air Pack”), and atmos’ 2002 gum-soled Air Max 1 design. The shoes features a black suede upper with safari print on the toe and heel. Other details include hits of green on the Jumpman branding on the tongue and the NIKE AIR branding on the heel, safari-printed insoles, and an icy blue translucent outsole.

The atmos Air Jordan Air Max Pack will release on March 18th at select retailers globally for $400.

The Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka Gets Premium Hairy Suede for Spring 2017

Nike Sportswear’s been dominated by the Air Max Day 2017 Collection that’s seen a bevy of awesome retro inspirations and the coming rollout of the highly anticipated Nike VaporMax, but there’s a lot more too look forward to this month with silhouettes outside of the realm of visible air. One of the go-to lifestyle offerings for premium casual wear has been the Nike Air Footscape Woven Chukka, an oddity that was incredibly popular in Asia that eventually found its market here in the USA. NSW is bolstering the heavily woven offering with the coming Footscape Woven Chukka Hairy Suede Pack slated to release in 3 colorways on March 16th, 2017 for $180 USD each.

We’ve already seen the Nike Footscape Woven Light Bone release at select international retailers, but if that tonal option wasn’t for you there’s also Flat Gold and Black/Anthracite options available featuring bolstered hairy suede on the upper to contrast a simpler soft suede on the mudguard. Of course, those somewhat overly ambitious woven panels and asymmetrical lacing that gives the Footscape Woven Chukka its decisive construction return with a higher than usual ankle collar bolstered by stretchy neoprene. Check out more detailed shots below and grab your pair on 3/16. Stay tuned for more of the latest Release Dates right here on Sneaker News.

The Nike Air Force 1 Tech Craft Is Releasing in Low Form

How many remixes of the Nike Air Force 1 are we going to get this year? Nike Sportswear has been updating Bruce Kilgore’s iconic retro basketball creation in more ways than we can count whether it’s through high-concept collaborations with ACRONYM, streetwear-ready takedowns in incredibly limited runs like the recently released VLONE offering, or a teched out look that’s more ready than ever to hit the runway in the Nike Air Force 1 Tech Craft, recently unveiled at NYFW by fashion label Rochambeau.

Today we get a look at yet another update with the Nike Air Force 1 Tech Craft Low, as the luxurious remix features Jacquard-like panels on the toecap, minimal eyelets to match the premium leather, additional ventilations on the side panel, and that’s just the start of where this AF1 takes a turn for the modern. Also included is an updated sockliner, a unique lifestyle-inspired ankle collar and heel tab, and a lower tongue with a leather tongue label featuring embossed ‘Nike Air’ branding. A Black colorway will be available for men’s this Spring 2017 season followed by an off-white Sail/Gum women’s offering.

Update: The Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant Will Also Be Releasing By Itself

It was just reported that the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 x Air Jordan 3 Pack would be releasing on March 18th for the retail price of $400. The pack is said to be a hyperstrike (ultra limited) release, so most of us are going to have a real hard time picking up a pair. The good news is that the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant from the pack will also be releasing individually.

For the most part, the Air Max 1 from the pack is very similar to the one that will be sold on its own. The Air Max 1 from the pack will come with additional features such as the Jumpman on the outsole and the elephant print design on the insoles, while the pair selling on its own opts for more of a true OG design with no extra branding.

Just like the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 x Air Jordan 3 Pack, the Nike Air Max 1 Atmos Elephant will also be releasing on March 18th with the retail price set at $150. Said to also be a limited release, you will be able to find a pair at select Nike retailers as well through Nike SNKRS. Who’s going after a pair? Better yet, who’s not going after a pair?

Author’s Take:

Renz Ofiaza, News: This style is one of my favorite bball sneakers, so I?ll always be an advocate. The finish is pretty clean and I like the subtle carbon fiber detailing throughout. It adds another cool element to the design.

Nike Talks With atmos Designer Hirofumi Kojima About The Upcoming atmos Nike/Jordan Pack

It’s been three decades since Tinker Hatfield brought the concept of visible air to fruition, and while the Air Max 1 and Jordan 3 were initially created as performance models, both silhouettes have been lifestyle staples and some of the most sought after retros in the Swoosh’s catalog ever since hitting retail shelves. Tokyo’s atmos knew this and was one of the first boutiques to collaborate with the famed 1987 model, the stand out of course being the 2007 atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant Print”. atmos designer Hirofumi Kojima combined the iconic Elephant Print from the Air Jordan 3 with its visible air predecessor for one of the most memorable collaborative efforts ever, and now the retro is coming back both in OG form and as part of the special edition Jordan Max atmos Pack on March 18th, 2017 in celebration of Air Max Day.

Nike News sat down with Hirofumi to talk his design process and how exactly the iconic atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant Print” came to be. Surprisingly enough, the 2007 release wasn’t initially inspired from the Air Jordan 3, but was instead seen as an opportunity to put animal prints back in style after seeing some vintage ‘Nike kids’ with zebra printed shoes. Kojima says: “I remember talking with the people in Nike Japan, who were involved in the project, about creating something crazy and stupid that would give impact to the market. We happened to find a pair of vintage Nike kids shoe with zebra print, and we decided to create shoes with animal prints under the concept of zoo.

Hirofumi also drops some gems including how he wishes that the Jade colored Swoosh would have been created in a premium leather instead of the contrasting patent leather. We also have an update regarding the release date of the coming atmos Jordan 3: as it will be releasing on March 18th, 2017 at select global retailers (stay tuned for a coming ‘Where To Buy’ post in the near future). Check out the full interview with the atmos designer over on Nike News, and be sure to check out more of the official images below.
