Another Versatile Combo On The Nike Air Max Plus TN Ultra
By SoleInsider
In addition to its most pristine variation yet, the Nike Air Max Plus TN Ultra receives another versatile colorway as part of its Spring 2017 lineup, this time draped in a combination of pale grey with photo blue.
Essentially a modernized take of the 1998 Air Max Plus, the new design features an added comfort inner bootie, a streamlined upper and modified tooling. Pale grey simply drapes the entire mesh/synthetic striped upper, while photo blue accents adorn the miniature Swooshes, flywire and the distinctive air bubble inserts throughout its crisp white sole unit.
You can purchase this pair at select Nike retailers overseas first and it’s expected to drop nationwide very soon.
The Nike Air Max Zero Breeze Lemon Chiffon Is Ready For Spring
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Max Zero Breeze consists as a brand new variation of the runner this year, as the sneaker’s overall composition is intended for the warmer months ahead.
While it bears the same design ethos, this rendition of the silhouette incorporates enlarged perorations underneath its flexible mesh upper to promote more breathability throughout, hence its distinctive “Breeze” moniker.
Rendered in vibrant lemon chiffon, the model is reinforced with tonal synthetics across to define its design, as well as reinforce the overall profile. Finally, a clean white sole unit finishes off the vivid two-tone design.
You can purchase this model at select Nike retailers overseas first, while a stateside release is imminent.

Nike And Jordan Pay Tribute To 2 Of Tinker Hatfields Best Creations With The atmos Pack
By SoleInsider
Tinker Hatfield changed the sneaker game forever when he introduced the Nike Air Max 1 over three decades ago. The visible air-wielding model has since become one of the most classic sneakers of all time, and Tinker was such a fan of the technology that he took a huge risk when designing his first creation for Michael Jordan in 1988’s Air Jordan 3 by including the air window and a head-turning graphic print on the heel and toecap. Now the two Tinker greats are coming together with the help of Elephant Print and Safari Print in the Jordan Max atmos Pack on March 26th, 2017, headed to retailers in limited quantities for $400 USD.
This is undoubtedly the crown jewel of Air Max Day 2017 given what’s at stake here. The atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Elephant Print” is already getting a stand-alone retro treatment, but here there’s a major difference thanks to the Jumpman branding on the outsole. Then there’s the atmos Jordan 3, a pair that takes inspiration from the Japanese boutique’s Nike Air Max 1 “Safari Print” by substituting the graphic in for the usual Elephant Print. A premium black suede base sees off-white land on the ankle collar and midsole while alternating shades of forest green and orange clash with an icy outsole unit. (You might remember the latest atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Safari Print” retro getting that update a few years back).
Be sure to check out our exclusive set of images of the upcoming Jordan Brand and Nike Sportswear offering that’s sure to be one of the most in-demand releases of 2017 so far and stay tuned for more upcoming Air Max Day updates right here on Sneaker News.
Youve Got To Take A Look At This Clean Nike PG 1 Home PE
By SoleInsider
Paul George already has two different GRs of his first signature shoe with Nike under his belt. But if you’re like me, you’ve been paying close attention as to what he’s been wearing on court as of late. Over the past few weeks, Paul George has been seen rocking a handful of impressive PE colorways, but this newest one could possibly the best one yet.
Simply known as the Nike PG 1 Home PE, this version of the PG 1 opts for a leather and mesh combination on the upper. The clean White upper is accented by the Navy and Yellow hits noted on the Nike Swoosh and the speckling placed throughout the midsole. Correct me if I’m wrong, but this could be the first time we see a leather upper used on the PG 1, and it looks damn good using it too! This is a PE colorway, so we’re straight out of luck, but it’s still exciting to see what kind of looks the PG 1 will be able to pull off as future releases begin to unveil.
These definitely aren’t the Copper Foamposites in aesthetic or by reputation, but it’s nice to see Nike experimenting with that Metallic Copper Coin accent on a Penny Hardaway retro once again. The Nike Penny 4 is probably the most unheralded of Penny’s signature lineup, but there are people who still miss the days when you could readily find ‘1 Cent’ accented models on the NBA hardwood. The Nike Air Penny 4 is more of a lifestyle wear these days, and that’s showcased here through a Wolf Grey leather base, Anthracite suede overlays on the mudguard and ankle strap while Copper Coin piping matches the ‘1 Cent’ medallion on the lace shroud. No word yet on a release date, but expect this pair to arrive this Spring 2017 season for $160.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Bulls Will Be Releasing In Mens Sizes
By SoleInsider
While we wait for Nike/Supreme to give us a release date for the Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo Collection, today we give you a look at another colorway that looks like it could easily be part of the same collaboration.
Having released last year exclusively for kids, this red, black, white colorway of the classic Uptempo will now be releasing in men’s sizes. Covered in red throughout the majority of the upper, the larger than life “AIR” branding and the heel have been wrapped in black patent leather for a nice pop. Look for the Nike Air More Uptempo Bulls to release on April 7th 2017. Will you cop?
Release Date: Nike WMNS Air Max LD-Zero Triple White
By SoleInsider
In addition to the Pure Platinum colorway for the men, we’ll also be seeing the Nike Air Max LD-Zero release in an exclusive color for the ladies.
Fusing a classic from the 1970s with innovative cushioning, the Air Max LD-Zero evolved from the mind of streetwear legend Hiroshi Fujiwara. Fujiwara?s vision blends the classic upper of the LD-1000 with 360 degree visible Air cushioning. Celebrating Air Max Day 2017, the innovative model arrives in a Triple White finish.
The Nike Air Max Jewell Tortoise Shell Pack Give The Model A Premium Touch
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Max Jewell is one of Nike’s newest women’s models. Although it recently made its debut, Nike already had big plans for the silhouette starting off with this Nike Air Max Jewell Tortoise Shell Pack.
Unlike the first couple of colorways that have dropped, this pair ditches the mesh construction in favor of something with a little more luxe appeal to them. The new look of the shoe has them dressed in tonal one-piece leather uppers. Accentuating the premium look of the shoe are features such as the embroidered Nike Swoosh branding and the faux tortoise shell shank support that extends all the way up to the heel region. What does remain the same is the Air Max cushioning on the heel region of the sole. Black, White and Tan are the colorways you can choose from and early reports suggest that you will be able to pick up a pair from select retailers beginning April 1st. Ladies, is this a cop?
The Nike Kyrie 3 Shows Up In Georgetown Colors, Unintentionally
By SoleInsider
Kyrie Irving is a Duke man through and through, and while we’ve already seen two different colorways honoring his short time with Coach K, the Nike Kyrie 3 shows up in another school’s colors – albeit unintentionally. The Nike Kyrie 3 “Cool Grey” bears a supporting color of navy blue, which a clear-cut Hoyas marker – although we highly doubt this has anything to do with the Big East team. Check out a better preview below and head over to our Release Dates page for more Nike Basketball updates during one of basketball’s favorite months. This pair drops on March 24th.
Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 6 Alternate, Nikes March Madness Kicks, Coogi x PUMA Clydes
By SoleInsider
This might be one of my favorite editions of Buy, Pass, Wait to come along in a long time. We’ve got kicks from Jordan Brand, Nike, adidas, New Balance and PUMA for our five choices. Some are retros, some are collabs, some are for basketball, some are style. It’s really a nice mixture that doesn’t come around that often and it’s symbolic of the diversity of styles that we have in the sneaker world that people need to see for themselves instead of just settling for the same stuff over and over.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (WAIT) I like the colorway and the execution and materials seem to justify the $190 price tag. I just don’t see them selling out right away considering where we are now in this day and age with Jordan retros. When they drop to something more palpable like $140 or less, then it becomes a cop.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (WAIT) It’s one of the nicest colorways of the sneaker in my opinion. Given that the AJ 3 True Blue is still available at certain stores, I’m not in a rush to get this pair.
Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) I wouldn’t call myself a huge fan of the Jordan 6, but I would pick up a pair in the right colorway. The colors used on this “Alternate” pair are clean but I’m not a fan of the perforations on the upper. If these get down to the right price I’ll consider picking up a pair.
Nike March Madness Pack (Pick One)
EIC Juan: (Nike Kobe A.D. Oregon) Duh, I’m a Mamba guy and an Oregon guy, this was a no-brainer. Love Kyrie, but Dook blows…
Renz: (Nike Kobe A.D. Oregon) The colorway is pretty favorable and I like the application of that feather graphic on the midsole. It’s a clean-looking sneaker too.
Andres: (Nike Kobe A.D. Oregon) Aside from being a fan of black/yellow sneakers, the Kobe A.D. is the pair with the least amount of school branding. I’m not a fan of any of these schools, so the Kobe A.D. is my choice because the Oregon logos are barely visible. Oh yeah and those feather graphics on the midsole are a nice touch.
Concepts x New Balance 990V2 Tyrian
Concepts
EIC Juan: (BUY) Love the colorway, the Made In The USA distinction (despite my loathing of President Orange Snowflake and some of higher ups at New Balance endorsing the guy), and the sea slug story. The price tag is a little too rich for my blood (“Made In USA” ain’t cheap after all) but these are worth it to break the bank for.
Renz: (BUY) I would’ve preferred it on the 997 but this pair is pretty solid overall. The colorway is the real winner for sure. Plus, I like that it’s manufactured in the USA.
Andres: (PASS) I like the theme and story behind this shoe, but I just don’t see myself wearing an all-purple sneaker all that much. Plus, I don’t think I can spend $220 on a pair of New Balance shoes before checking them out in person.
adidas Crazy Explosive Low White Primeknit
adidas
EIC Juan: (BUY) Remember when the sneaker world was just clowning on the Crazy Explosive viciously when the Andrew Wiggins PE first leaked? Oh, how times have changed since as people love the CE as a performance shoe on the court and the lows are getting rave reviews as a stylish pair to wear out. Add Primeknit to the mix and it’s winner.
Renz: (BUY) In previous colorways, I wasn’t a fan of the sneaker much, but in this all-white finish, I’m pretty biased. It’s a really stylish pair in white and I would just wear this casually to walk around in, instead of playing bball, haha.
Andres: (PASS) Good job by adidas of making the Crazy Explosive into a low-top, but an all-white Primeknit/Flyknit sneaker is a no-no for me. Maybe if it were a different colorway I’d consider grabbing a pair.
Coogi x PUMA Clyde Sweater
PUMA
EIC Juan: (BUY) Hopefully these will get a restock down the line because these are fantastic and I’m happy that PUMA is really killing it right now with their revival of classic styles done right. Great for them, great for us as a sneaker community when all brands are dropping heat. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be listening to “Juicy” all day crying that it’s been 20 years. We miss you, Big…
Renz: (BUY) I really like the authentic material makeup and how each pair is not alike. The sneaker itself is a timeless model too, so this should pretty much garner the attention it deserves.
Andres: (BUY) Talk about making a statement with your kicks! Everything about this shoe is dope. From the colorful print, to the gold detailing, to the fact that every pair comes with a different pattern on the upper. I definitely wouldn’t mind rockin’ these Clydes.
Of course the Air Max 1, the first ever model to feature visible air created by Tinker Hatfield in 1987, was eventually going to get the mismatched “What The” colorway that Nike loyalists are such avid fans of. The historic AM1 is celebrating its 30th anniversary this month and in honor of the occasion, the Air Max 1 “Master” is headed to retailers this Saturday, March 11th at select European retailers followed by a stateside release on March 25th for $185 USD.
The Nike Air Max 1 Master of Air features a premium black leather base complete with micro-perforations on the toebox and ankle collar to add a dramatic and luxurious effect in contrast with the bolstered terry Swoosh. The mudguard is where all of that “What The” action is at, as a greatest hits of collaborative and classic Air Max 1 colorways hit the lower panel. You can see shades of previous atmos collaborations, the recently released OG Sport Red colorway, Patta’s Chlorophyll, and even the busy animal printed variety.
Check out more official photos of the coming Nike Air Max 1 Master below and stay tuned for full updates to the ‘Where To Buy’ store list section below. For more of the latest Air Max Day 2017 offerings, be sure to head to our Release Dates page.
VICE Sports Explores The Early Years Of The Nike SB Dunk Craze
By SoleInsider
Originally releasing in the mid-80s, the Dunk basketball shoe had a second identity as a skate shoe thanks to the board-feel and style it provided to skaters, and for nearly two decades the Dunk lived on as a go-to option for skateboarding. In 2002, Nike made it official by launching the Skateboarding category around a retooled Dunk, with four respected skaters on board. What occurred from that point on was a bit a blur; the demand for SB Dunks by skaters and sneakerheads started to grow, and as Nike collaborated with reputable artists and shops, the SB Dunk soon became the hottest ticket on the market and was integral in multiplying sneaker culture across the globe.
Today, VICE Sports officially launches a short documentary on the Nike SB Dunk with insight from shop owners, skaters, and sneakerheads that were part of SB’s glory days. See the full video ahead.
Paul George’s signature shoe debut has been a success thus far. All 12,000 pairs of the “Shining” colorway cleared out with the quickness, and the “Ferocity” version, which bears a Pacers Away colorway with additional color hits representing his loved ones, continues to be one of the top options of last weekend. The PE stream has been mighty as well, and today Nike unveils a special Home colorway of the PG1 that Paul will wear very soon.
What makes the PG 1 such an impressive shoe is the rotation of materials used on the upper. This PE makes use of a flat white leather, while the previous “Hickory” PE utilized a red upper with a shiny finish. The unreleased “2K17” version uses fishscale textures, and the upcoming PG 1 “Ivory”, which Paul wore in-game recently, opts for python. Unfortunately, this Home PE will not release, but there’s plenty more on the way.
The Nike Air Max LD-Zero Pure Platinum Is Releasing On Air Max Day
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Max LD-Zero debuted during last year’s Air Max Day celebration and is back for this year’s festivities with a clean “Pure Platinum” slated to release on March 26th, 2017. Originally thought to release earlier this week, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for the clean near Triple White aesthetic on the retro-inspired silhouette. A women’s version will also be available on the same day, featuring a colorless outsole unit and an upper that’s just a little bit brighter as well.
The model combined the LD-1000, a classic running shoe lauded for its clean, minimalist and overall Swoosh with what was then the most modern Air Max unit fragment design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara could get his hands on. (Hiroshi also has used the LD-1000 in a past Roshe combination). The Pure Platinum finally seems to do the premium model justice, though, thanks to an icy outsole that contrasts a bolstered suede heel and mesh upper. Check out more detailed shots below and head over to our Release Dates page for more updates on the coming Air Max Day 2017 options.
