Jimmy Butler And Jordan Brand Update Michael Jordans Failure Speech For Upcoming Ad
By SoleInsider
The iconic Air Jordan ads of the late 1990s and 2000s are remembered as the most inspirational sports-related ads ever created. It focuses on Jordan being a human rather than being an otherworldly star, which is a big reason why Jordan Brand continues its unprecedented success years after MJ’s final game. Now with an outstanding stable of athletes, Jordan Brand is able to carry on that winning tradition, and who better than current Bulls superstar Jimmy Butler? In this preview, Butler recalls Jordan’s iconic “Succeed” ad in which he credits his failures and obstacles as the source of his drive to victory. Check out a preview of Butler’s ad as well as the original ad just ahead.
The Air Jordan 16 originally released more than 15 years ago (March 2001). This November, the shoe makes its return coming in the OG Midnight Navy colorway. The last time we saw any kind of version of the shoe was back in 2008 when the Black Air Jordan 16 released as a part of the CDP where it got paired up with the Air Jordan 7. Fun fact about the shoe, it was also the first Air Jordan since the Air Jordan 3 that was not designed by Tinker Hatfield.
This colorway is said to be a nod back to Jordan’s playing days with his second NBA team, the Washington Wizards. The shoe comes dressed in a White tumbled leather upper accented by the Midnight Navy patent leather toe which also includes a Navy mesh underlay resting on top of a translucent outsole. One of the most recognizable features on the shoe is the removable shroud that helps give the shoe two different looks. The Air Jordan 16 Midnight Navy is expected to return on November 5, 2016 for a retail price of $250.
Juan Carrillo, News: The Air Jordan 16 is not a model I’d say I like or dislike. It’s just a “meh” Jordan sneaker. The fact that Jordan Brand is bringing it back and pricing it at $250 make me want the shoe even less. The colorway is clean, but I’m not sold on picking up a pair only because I’m not in love with it.
This November, the Air Jordan 9 “Kobe” is slated for a release at retail. It is the first-ever Air Jordan Retro in Lakers colors that references Kobe Bryant’s Player Exclusives during the famed “sneaker free agency” in the early part of the 2000s, and although the purple patent leather and gold detailing is supremely attractive, Jordan Brand could’ve made these even better had they kept one detail truly “OG”. The upcoming Air Jordan 9 “Kobe” features MJ’s 23 embroidered on the heel instead of number 8 that is seen in Kobe’s version. It’s nothing to get upset about, but this upcoming drop would’ve been that much better. Get a detailed look here and let us know if these are a must-have for you.

I’m biased towards the 3 and even though it looks somewhat boring, the colorway is a classic. I?m not really into it that much yet. It might grow on me as the months pass till its official release though, but, I’ll still probably purchase since it’s a simple and clean offering.

The Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Highlights Holiday 2016
By SoleInsider
Until its release in about five more months, we’ll continue to showcase the latest imagery of the much-anticipated 2016 edition of the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam.
Displaying the sneaker against an all-black backdrop, the higher cut black patent leather overlay which encompasses the upper is much more emphasized, as the silhouette essentially stays true to its OG makeup that MJ first wore during the 1995 NBA Playoffs. More black is utilized for its breathable mesh upper and smooth leather accents on the rear to finish of the composition.
Further detailed with classic Concord Jumpman branding located at the rear, the number ?45? is stitched on the back heel. Finishing elements include a clean, white midsole unit and icy translucent outsole.
Priced at $220, you can buy the standout pair at select JB and Nike retailers on Saturday, December 17.

I?m not that big fan of the higher placement of the patent leather overlay, but this one of my favorite sneakers ever. I?m just glad it?s being released again and hopefully in lots of quantities.

The 2016 Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green Arrives This Weekend
By SoleInsider
This 1999 classic of the Air Jordan 14 is set to make its debut in a few more days, as even more imagery of the revived basketball silhouette is unveiled once again.
Simply a remastered take, the sneaker incorporates its OG makeup with a crisp smooth/tumbled white leather upper and contrasting black accents solidifying its overall build, which is prominent on the midsole unit, tongue, laces and inner lining for a predominant two-tone finish.
Notable elements consists of legend blue and green implemented throughout its entirety. Additionally, seven Jumpman symbols are placed across the model, in particular, on the shield, two metal-tip laces, sole, heel, toe box, and the insoles.
Priced at $190, you can purchase a pair at select Nike and JB retailers on Saturday, July 16th. GS sizes (3.5y ? 7y) will be offered as well and listed at $140.
The color combo is essentially a classic, but I?m not really fond of this model. Although it hasn?t been seen since ?99, I?m sure fans of the silhouette are elated for the revival.
It only takes one time for a sneaker to become legendary. For the Ferrari-inspired Air Jordan 14, it was one series (the 1998 NBA Finals), one game (Game 6) and one shot (you know the…). In a season that was full of memorable sneaker moments, the Air Jordan 14 stands above all because it was the sneaker that Michael Jordan wore when he took what we thought at the time was his “Last Shot” ever in the NBA. A game-winning, series-clinching, championship-closing shot.
And thank God it was the Air Jordan 14 because I don’t know if I can sum up the gumption to write anything about the Air Jordan 15* that doesn’t involve the words “Dear God” or “yikes” or “15 SEs are the only ones that don’t suck”.

Anyways, this weekend will see the return of the Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green. Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite colorways of the Air Jordan 14 by counting our (what else?) Top 14 Air Jordan 14 colorways of all-time.
Air Jordan 14 Low Ginger
While I’ll never understand the fascination with the oddly-shaped Air Jordan 14 Low, I do understand why this colorway is so beloved. People really love wearing boots without actually having to wear them. That’s the only way to explain our fascination with kicks like the Air Jordan 14 Low Ginger or the Air Jordan 16 Ginger or the Air Jordan 20 Chutney. We love the colors but if we’re of a certain geographical location (ie. west of the Mississippi) we aren’t wearing the boots that go along with that color. We’ll take these Js instead, thanks.
Air Jordan 14 Light Graphite
Nike
A perfect fall season kind of sneaker, this 2011 drop kind of just came and went as it was released right before the sneaker game was about to change with the return of the Air Jordan 11 Concord later that year. If you can find these at reasonable (meaning close to retail) price, you should seriously consider them as they are a versatile pair that go with plenty of the accessories and gear that you already own.
Air Jordan 14 Nubuck
Nike
You can never go wrong with University Blue on a pair of Air Jordans and this 14 colorway is just another piece of evidence that backs that statement. Whether you were a Tar Heel or Carmelo Anthony fan at the time, you probably had an outfit that went with this nubuck edition of the 14s. Is it better than the Air Jordan 12 Nubuck that uses a similar color scheme? Hell no, but it’s a good job, good effort on Jordan Brand’s part with these.
Air Jordan 14 Low Columbia
Jordans Daily
Once again, in spite of my objections to the overall look of the 14 Lows, when you put Carolina/Columbia blue together with any Jordan, the result is often always magic.
Air Jordan 14 CDP
rareairs
Released as part of the multitude of Countdown Packages that was all the rage years ago, this might not have been one of the most sought after packs in the overall scheme of things but plenty of NBA players still wear them – including this particular pair – to this day.
Air Jordan 14 Indiglo
2muchsol3
Another pair of 14s set to drop this year is the Air Jordan 14 Indiglo. Along with the Oxidized Green, these were the among the rare “OG” colorways of Air Jordans during the 90s that dropped in colors that you normally wouldn’t expect MJ to rock on the court. Maybe if the Bulls wore those garish St. Patrick’s Day uniforms… ah, you know what? Let’s not go there because of the visual of MJ in green is almost as bad as the visual of MJ in Wizards colors. Not that we’re judging or anything like that…
Air Jordan 14 Ferrari
Nike
On-point storytelling and high quality execution makes for a great pair of kicks. I just don’t think anybody should be caught dead wearing it. Unless you own a Ferrari because…
Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green
Nike
Andre Drummond wore these OGs for a few games a few years back prior to becoming a full-fledged Jordan Brand athlete. How they managed to survive the pounding of NBA competition 15 years later is beyond us, as Tony Wroten can attest to. Now that the shoe is getting a long-awaited retro drop, will it still be among the most desired 14s or will its mass availability take away some of the love for it? We’ve seen many a classic sullied either by too many pairs out on the market or a lackluster effort on the quality side, but we’ve also seen the appreciation grow for certain pairs. Let’s see where this unique colors slides into in the coming weeks and months.
Air Jordan 14 Low Laney
Nike
They were Royals once and now they’re Laneys. I don’t know about these nicknames anymore, man…
Air Jordan 14 Black Toe
Nike
Cue Michael Jordan in “bullet time” GIF.
Air Jordan 14 Deep Forest
rareairs
As a long standing opponent of anything and everything Air Jordan 13, I’m disappointed that Ray Allen didn’t turn these into legendary kicks when he began his run with the Boston Celtics. While I can understand why Allen would be attached to the Air Jordan 13 (it was prominently featured in the movie that he starred in with Denzel Washington that shall not be named because it also references the worst sneaker nickname ever), Allen could have at least worn these during his attempt to break Reggie Miller’s 3-point record. But alas, I’ll settle for these as a underrated gem that doesn’t get talked about as much…
Air Jordan 14 UNC
Nike
By the time 2000 rolled around, we were already deep into the depths of misery of the Air Jordan 15. But amidst the darkness comes Eastbay and shocks sneakerheads by releasing the UNC player exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan 14. This is a pair of 14s that needs to retro as soon as possible.
Air Jordan 14 Candy Cane
Nike
Back in the days, you were either in the “perforated” or “non-perforated” camp when it came to the Air Jordan 14s (for the record, I was #TeamPerforated). These were the perfect kicks to rock with a home Chicago Bulls jersey in late 90s. They also served as a great coping mechanism because by the time these dropped, Jordan was just a few days away from announcing his second retirement from NBA. At the very least, we knew Jordan Brand would do right by the Air Jordans and still make dope kicks even after Jordan retired. Then the 15 happened and it took a while for us to regain hope but that’s another story for another time…
Air Jordan 14 Last Shot
Flight Club
If you try hard enough, you too can erase the memory of Michael Jordan playing for the Washington Wizards like I have. The “Last Shot” was just so perfectly poetic and symbolic of Jordan’s brilliant career. How could he not end his career on that high note? What more did he have to prove to not only us, but himself? It turns out a whole hell of a lot because since that day, he’s proven he can still ball at the age of 40, he has become the first athlete to own an NBA franchise (and not in the cute “Magic Johnson owns a piece of the Lakers” kind of way either) and his legacy has shaped the path sneaker culture has taken for better or worse. So yeah, don’t listen to us, MJ. Do you, homey…
To many people, Air Jordans and sneakers in general are viewed as art you can put on your feet. Some people value the shoe so damn much, the they don’t even put them on their feet. If you thought shoes were viewed as art as is, wait until you see these Air Jordan made out of crystals.
Daniel Jacob is an artist who works with crystals. he decided to take his talents and utilize them on sneakers. His latest work of art has him completely transform the look of Air Jordans by covering them with crystals. What you see above is a crystal version of the Air Jordan 1 UNC and Chicago. He even went ahead and did his thing on an all-Gold pair of Jordan 1s. The Gold pair was created by using more than 140,000 Swarovski crystals. The most impressive part from all of this is the fact that each crystal was individually set by hand. Want to see these in person? They’re all on display right now at Market Art and Design show in the Hamptons.

The Air Jordan 3 Cyber Monday was greeted with mixed emotions the moment it was unveiled. On on hand, people were happy to see the Air Jordan 3 make its long awaited return. On the other hand, many people feel this brand new colorway may be a little bit underwhelming. Dubbed the Air Jordan 3 Cyber Monday, let’s get a closer look.
Borrowing the same color scheme as the Air Jordan 1 High (and Low) Cyber Monday, the Jordan 3 comes with a subtle Black leather upper sitting on top of a White sole unit. Everything on the upper comes in Black, this includes the branding, laces, lining, eyestay, heel tab and any other feature I may have overlooked. Are you a fan of this look on the Jordan 3? If so, you will be able to pick up a pair on November 28th (Cyber Monday) for $190. Check out our Air Jordan 3 Cyber Monday hub page for all the latest info and images of this upcoming release.
