Floyd Mayweather is the type of person that likes to let everyone know that he has massive amounts of money. Whether it’s through all the fancy trips he takes, the nice houses he has, or the garages full of cars that he owns, he’s never been shy about showing us that he has some serious cash. Just to put things in perspective, Mayweather made $220 million in his fight against Manny Pacquiao last year. All that for 36 minutes of action. Damn.

So what kind of shoes does Money Mayweather like to wear? Apparently not Air Jordans. In a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked he states that he wears designers sneakers such as Christian Louboutin, Givenchy, and Balmain. When asked why he doesn’t wear Air Jordans he responded because he doesn’t want to look like everyone else and wear the same shoes they wear. Mayweather says “I got a different type of money, so I’m gonna look different.” That’s definitely true.

Maybe if I had Floyd Mayweather type of money I would only wear high end designer sneakers too. I don’t know if I’ll be able to not wear Jordans anymore though. Check out the interview up above.

A sneak peak of the packaging reveals an intergalactic interior which essentially pays tribute to the sneaker’s 20th anniversary and the iconic film respectively. Furthermore, a large “45” is embossed on the top portion.

The iconic basketball silhouette essentially stays true to its OG makeup that MJ first wore during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, as it features a higher cut black patent leather overlay which encompasses the upper. In addition, classic Concord Jumpman branding is located at the rear, alongside the number ?45? stitched on the back heel. Finishing elements include a clean, white midsole unit and icy blueish translucent outsole.

This colorway of the Air Jordan 14 first made its appearance back in 1999, and seventeen years later, the model will finally be reintroduced to the public this weekend.

Essentially maintaining its OG build, the Ferrari 550M-inspired basketball sneaker is comprised of smooth/tumbled white leather for its upper with contrasting black accents adorning the tongue, midsole unit, laces and inner lining to solidify its simple two-tone palette. Derek Jeter played in his final MLB season ever last year which concluded one of the greatest sports careers ever. Today the legend became a bigger member of the Jordan Brand team than he has ever been in the past.

In a few short days we’ll be seeing the next colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Low No Swoosh arrive at retailers. Earlier this year Jordan Brand took the world by storm by unveiling and releasing three colorways of a new Air Jordan 1 Low that removed the signature Swoosh branding on the side panels.

Last time we saw an black, olive, and pink colorways release, this time Jordan Brand color coordinates for the Summer and will give us an all-white colorway. As you can see, this Air Jordan 1 features tumbled leather all over the upper with Nike Air branding on the tongue, the Wings logo on the heel, and gold aglets that provide a nice pop.

It’s always unfortunate to find out about violence going on in this world of ours, and it’s even more unfortunate when it’s over something like sneakers that are meant to bring us together as a community.

Today we have found out that Star Telegram is reporting that 20-year-old Daron Taylor was found guilty by a jury of capital murder in the killing of 21-year-old Joshua Woods back in 2012. Daron Taylor and others went to several Houston malls on Dec. 21, 2012 looking for people who had just bought the recently released Air Jordan 11 Bred. Taylor and his friends ended up following Woods home and killed him in an attempt to steal the shoes. He has now been sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole in 40 years since he was 16 when the murder took place.

Taylor is the second suspect convicted in the slaying. Twenty-one-year-old Neal Bland was convicted of capital murder in February and sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.

With Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah departing Chicago this year he’s ready to make the Bulls his team (unless D Wade has something to say about that). Jimmy Buckets is starring in a new commercial/short film for Jordan Brand where he recalls all of the obstacles and adversity that he has had to overcome throughout his NBA career such as getting drafted #30 overall in 2011 and not being offered any scholarships coming out of high school.
