When it comes to an Air Jordan sneaker it doesn’t get much more “premium” than a retail price of $400. Whether the shoe is actually worth $400 is another topic of discussion.

The Air Jordan 4 will be releasing in yet another premium iteration this weekend when it hits select retailers in this Ginger colorway. Featuring a premium leather upper that has been given the tonal look as a Ginger/Wheat hue has been applied all throughout. Leather laces, perforation detailing, a quilted leather insole, and a rubber gum outsole are a few of the details that are included in this Air Jordan 4.

Will you be dishing out $400 to get your hands on a pair tomorrow?

Author’s Take

I love the Air Jordan 4 but I find it hard to justify spending $400 on this colorway. Not saying I would never spend $400, but it’s gonna take a lot more than a “wheat” colorway for me to do that.

The Next Air Jordan 4 Premium Drops In Ginger This Weekend

Jordan Brand continues to push the boundaries of their retro catalog this weekend thanks to the release of a brand new Air Jordan 4 Premium that plans to take Hender Scheme’s unofficial homage to Mike’s fourth signature silhouette to task. The Air Jordan 4 Ginger will release this Saturday, October 29th featuring a premium leather construction, an updated hangtag, and Gum Yellow accents with a luxurious price point of $400 USD.

Fans of the Air Jordan 4 already know that the Jumpman’s Pinnacle and Premium imprints have seen success and have no problem paying more than double the price of original retros. The attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and unique colorways have all been a refreshing update to the lifestyle tendencies of the signature Jordan line, and what better way to celebrate the Fall/Winter 2016 season than with a “Wheat” like aesthetic? The Air Jordan 4 Ginger also features a luxurious quilted insole, boot-inspired laces, and a simplified Jumpman branding on the tongue that skips out on the original ‘Flight’ stitching.

Check out one last detailed look at the Air Jordan 4 Ginger and know that this pair will be available at select retailers like Rock City Kicks, Nike.com, and on eBay.

Author’s Take

This silhouette is one my favorite sneakers, but, this colorway isn?t that appealing in my view. I?m not a fan of the colors and I guess it?s a good thing this is limited to GS pairs only.

Leather And Wool Combine On The Air Jordan Horizon Low

JORDAN HORIZON 1 JORDAN HORIZON 2 JORDAN HORIZON 3 JORDAN HORIZON 4

Even though the Air Jordan Horizon didn’t make the splash that Jordan Brand was hoping for, they continue to release new colorways of the lifestyle silhouette.

The latest version of the Air Jordan Horizon Low features a unique two-tone build on the upper that starts off with leather on the toe and converts to wool on the heel/ankle. This colorway comes in a full Dark Grey upper with Metallic Silver detailing on the upper eyelets and branding. A black midsole and outsole completes the look on this Air Jordan Horizon Low that can be purchased at select Jordan Brand retailers now for $180.

Author’s Take

I think Jordan Brand expected to have the same success with the Horizon that they had with the Jordan Future a couple of years back. But as we can all see it didn’t pan out that way. I think that 13 sole just throws everything off.

Is The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Storm Blue Releasing Earlier

Jordan Brand has been bringing back the Air Jordan 1 in a plethora of awesome colorways throughout 2016. Not only have we received new inspirations found in the archives of Michael Jordan’s illustrious career like the Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard, but such classics as the Air Jordan 1 Banned and Air Jordan 1 Black Toe have or will be released in the near future. Now another original colorway straight from 1985 is coming back with the return of the Air Jordan 1 Storm Blue, and it might hit retail shelves sooner than expected.

The Air Jordan 1 “Storm Blue” was originally pinned down for a December 23rd release date with the original royal blue shade contrasting a crisp white base for a look perfect for Kentucky Wildcat fans out there. An original lifestyle colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, the Storm Blue colorway has only been previewed in grade school sizes thus far, but now shops in Europe are reporting a November 1st release date. Solebox is notorious for dropping Jordan retros earlier than expected, but what this means for a stateside release still remains unclear.

In the meantime, check out more photos of the Air Jordan 1 Storm Blue and let us know if you plan on grabbing a pair by taking your thoughts to the comments section. As always, stay tuned for more of the latest Jordan release dates right here on Sneaker News.

Student Who Surprised Teacher With Air Jordans Shops At DJ Khaleds Champs Sports Store

Champs Sports

Hector Montez — the seventeen year old senior from Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, who made his teacher’s childhood dreams come to reality by gifting him the Air Jordan 12 Taxi (showcased in the viral video below) — continues to receive appreciation from the sneaker community and fellow pubic figures in general with his generous act of kindness, as he recently visited DJ Khaled’s private Champs Sports store and with a surprise guest, Pittsburgh Steelers star receiver, Antonio Brown.

Hector had a once in a lifetime experience and was the first consumer to shop at the exclusive DJ Khaled Champs Sports store in Miami, Florida. While on dad duty, DJ Khaled gave long time friend, Antonio Brown, the keys to the store, so he could recognize Hector’s game.

The forthcoming Air Jordan 6 Chameleon, set to debut next year, is showcased in a lifestyle setting for its latest presentation.

As its moniker suggests, the defining aesthetic is essentially evident across its entire black leather upper which incorporates an iridescent finish that shifts in colors depending on certain lighting conditions. This shimmering element is achieved when rubbed off, a similar first found on the Air Jordan 12 Wings.

Finishing details include a Jumpman badge embroidery on the heels, 3M reflective accents, iridescent lace tips and the clear translucent outsole also inheriting the iridescent detailing.

Priced at $225, you can purchase this standout pair at select Nike and JB stockists starting February 17, 2017.

A new premium variation of the iconic Air Jordan 11 will be offered this Holiday 2016 season, alongside the return of its OG Space Jam colorway.

Straying from its typical patent leather and nylon construction, the sneaker is executed with more lifestyle appeal through the application of grey suede covering its entire upper. Notable finishing details include debossed Jumpman logos and no traditional “23” embroidery on the heels. Finishing off the profile is a crisp white midsole unit and slightly translucent outsole.

Priced at $400, you can purchase this standout pair at select Nike and Jordan Brand retailers starting this Holiday 2016.

Author’s Take

Since I’m not really a fan of the Air Jordan 16 it would take a really nice colorway for me to want to pick up a pair. This French Blue collaboration with Trophy Room just doesn’t do it for me. These will be a pass for me.

Trophy Room And DJ Khaled Officially Unveil The Air Jordan 16 French Blue

After some early teaser images, today Trophy Room officially announces their upcoming bringback of the Air Jordan 16 in an all-new “French Blue” colorway. Marcus Jordan’s sneaker shop can now boast that they’ll be releasing the first-ever retro of the sixteenth Air Jordan outside of the Countdown Pack from 2008, with their collaborative version in a clean tonal French Blue colorway. Being that Trophy Room’s location is in Florida, there was of course no better celebrity to help unveil the shoe than DJ Khaled, who we see here (in a matching velour tracksuit, no less) in the photos with Marcus introducing a full look at the shoe.

The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 16 “French Blue” will release in limited quantities exclusively at Trophy Room on November 5th. Stay tuned for more detailed release information.

The Air Jordan 3 GS Dark Purple Is For The Kids (And Should Stay That Way)

Air Jordan 3 1 Air Jordan 3 Air Jordan 3 2 Air Jordan 3 3

This weekend, the Air Jordan 3 continues its comeback with a size that’s made just for the kids. Adults won’t be able to cop this colorway for their size 9 and above feet and quite honestly, it should probably stay that way. We are in the day and age when everybody refuses to grow up and wants to remain a kid at heart and that’s fine for nostalgia purposes, but there are some things that are better left alone to the kids. The Air Jordan 3 GS Dark Purple is one of them.

The Air Jordan 3 has always been a sneaker that reveled in its simple color palette. Some combination of white, cement grey and black mixed with some blue or red as done the silhouette wonders through the years, whether it be the classics like the Air Jordan 3 White or Black Cement or modern favorites like the Air Jordan 3 Doernbecher or the Air Jordan 3 Sport Blue. It’s when Jordan Brand has deviated from that formula that the sneaker gets in trouble and it’s more glaring on the 3 than other retros. We’ve seen purple work on an Air Jordan 5 and pink was more than welcome on an Air Jordan 12 that just dropped this year. But those colors – or different shades of them even – on the Air Jordan 3 and it just falls apart. People might say they like the Russell Westbrook’s Air Jordan 3 exclusives, but if they weren’t attached to Russ or the Oklahoma City Thunder, they would be forgotten in an instant.

For more information about this upcoming release (for the kids), check out our Air Jordan 3 GS Dark Purple launch page for all latest images and videos as they become available.

Find Out What Sneaker Mike Conley Wore In His Debut As A Jordan Brand Athlete

Mike Conley 1 Minnesota Timberwolves v Memphis Grizzlies

If you weren’t already aware, Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley was a sneaker free agent this past Summer and managed to work out a deal with Jordan Brand as one of their newest sponsored athletes. We even recently caught up with him to talk about how the process went about to sign with them and what it was like to receive his first (massive) care package.

Conley and the Grizzlies opened up the NBA season last night against the young and hungry Minnesota Timberwolves. So what kicks did Conley wear in his first game? The Air Jordan 31 Battle Grey of course. A few other Jordan Brand guys did the same since the brand is currently pushing this new colorway to tip off the new season.

The Grizzlies ended up with the W as they beat Karl Anthony-Towns and the Timberwolves 102-98.
