Going inside the mind of Tinker Hatfield, particularly during Michael Jordan’s playing days, is a rare treat. Together, they pioneered the designer/athlete bond, which is why the shoe architects spend so much time and energy getting to know their muses before putting pen to paper. For the Air Jordan 9, Tinker wanted to amplify Michael Jordan’s global popularity by telling an international story on the soles of the shoes, so he called on Mark Smith, master of the minute details, to bring it to life.

Space Jam is celebrating its 20th anniversary this Holiday 2016 season, and Jordan Brand is taking advantage of their partnership with Warner Bros. through a diverse, multi-faceted footwear and apparel collection inspired by the opposing Monstars with their Jordan Space Jam Collection slated to arrive in stores throughout late-November and December.

The Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” is the obvious highlight of the collection with a remastered attention to detail reshaping the patent leather mudguard to match the 1996 original. Also included in the offering is updated ’45’ PE branding to honor Michael Jordan’s return to the game of basketball after his first retirement. Vintage ‘Nike Air’ branding also hits the insole to further the homage to original ’96 samples. Jordan Brand also updated the Air Jordan 31 in a “Space Jam” inspired colorway featuring patent leather gradually fading to the unique woven Flyweave upper to match an icy outsole and Concord purple accents on the branding throughout.

The Air Jordan 9 “Space Jam” pays tribute to the OG Chicago colorway found on Michael Jordan’s feet during the training session scenes of the film. While it’s a bit removed from the Black/Concord aesthetic seen throughout the Jordan Brand Space Jam Collection footwear and apparel, sneaker purists will have no problem picking up the remastered Air Jordan 9 OG on December 3rd.

On November 15, 1996, the film, Space Jam, officially debuted in theaters and created a pop-culture phenomenon that introduced an entire generation to the intersection of sport and culture.

Twenty years later for its respective 20th anniversary, Jordan Brand celebrates the iconic movie with the Air Jordan 31 in a (black/concord) colorway and two original pairs of Air Jordans worn in the legendary film — the Air Jordan 9 and Air Jordan 11.

Additionally, a special edition Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 1 Ultra High is currently available to further commemorate the film.

Aside from the notable footwear, a special apparel collection is revealed as well and essentially takes cues from the movie?s famed groups — the Tune Squad and the Monstars. The line features both iconic graphics from the original movie and modernized designs which pay homage to the classic black and concord palette, in addition to memorable story lines, such as the Bugs Bunny Shakespeare Scene and Monstars villain uniforms.

Just yesterday we provided you with two different sets of what we believe is the upcoming Air Jordan 11 Low Barons. Today we have the latest images to share with you.

For those who may not be aware, this is the first time Jordan Brand has released this colorway of the Jordan 11 Low. Our first couple of looks indicate that the shoe’s look is fairly simple in design and color. It is done in a Black suede upper accompanied by the Black leather hits on the heels. The patent leather usually found on the toe and mudguard adapts a iridescent look to give the shoe some added shimmy. Lastly, a White midsole and milky outsole round out the look of the shoe. It?s too plain, and it feels like a colorway that’s already been released. Not a huge fan of the iridescent patent leather and the all Black up top is a bit boring. It?s an easy pass for me.

Essentially covered in the classic colorway of black, white and concord, inspired by the forthcoming AJ 11 — the basketball sneaker is also defined by a new textile construction, alongside patent leather accents gracing the toe cap and heel.

Kobe Bryant will be receiving a special honor this weekend courtesy of Jordan Brand as his PE colorway of the Air Jordan 9 will finally be releasing to the masses.

Worn by Kobe while he was a sneaker free agent (after adidas and before Nike), this Air Jordan 9 features a White leather upper with Concord and Tour Yellow detailing on the mudguard, heel, inner liner, and the branding. The only main difference between this pair and the one worn by the Black Mamba is that this retail pair has a “23” on the heel instead of an “8” like the PE version.

Jordan Brand’s Space Jam Collection is headed to retailers to highlight their Holiday 2016 release slate. While many of you are counting down the days until the freshly revamped Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” arrives at retailers featuring its updated 45 PE branding, Nike Air insoles, and more, Jordan Brand will also be releasing a number of updated models featuring that classic Black/Concord colorway to honor the iconic Air Jordan 11s. One of those releases is this Air Jordan 1 Ultra High “Space Jam” slated to arrive on December 3rd for $150 USD.

The Air Jordan 1 Ultra High “Space Jam” manages to intrigue thanks to an updated construction meant to help your feet stay warm and dry throughout the winter months. An added ankle collar now features a stretchy neoprene slip-on construction while a bolstered wool helps hold down the more traditional Air Jordan 1 panels. We’ve seen the Air Jordan 1 rock patent leather int he past, but now the lower portions of this model feature the shiny textile in an homage to the Jordan 11’s mudguard. subdued Swoosh branding is stitched in a contrasting Concord Purple while an icy outsole matches rather well.

In a little over two weeks we’ll be seeing the return of a classic colorway of the Air Jordan 9.

Draped in the classic White/Black/True Red color scheme inspired by Michael’s Chicago Bulls, Jordan Brand has decided to rename this the Space Jam colorway to go along with the current 20th anniversary celebration of the movie. Michael also wore them in the movie so the name does make sense. This Air Jordan 9 features a White leather upper with Black detailing on the mudguard, heel, tongue, laces, inner liner, and midsole. Pops of True Red are then seen on the branding on the tongue, midsole, and heel.
