To follow up on the recent True Blue offering, the iconic Air Jordan 3 will be offered in a premium iteration to close out 2016.
Straying from its usual leather construction, this variation evokes more lifestyle appeal and functionality for the colder season. I?m all for applying new materials on classic JB silhouettes. This pair doesn?t look that bad. Maybe I?m just biased but, the colorway is versatile and it?ll be suitable for the colder weather.

This colorway is pretty appealing in general. I like it more with the wings logo overall, but, this revision isn’t that bad looking.

The Latest Jordan Westbrook 0.2 Colorway Is Out Of This World
By SoleInsider
Jordan Brand’s Space Jam extravaganza featured the likes of Blake Griffin and Jimmy Butler, but noticeably absent from the whole short film and apparel collection was Russell Westbrook, the current frontrunner for the NBA’s MVP award given the Thunder point guard’s current feat of averaging a triple-double every game. That doesn’t mean that the Jumpman forgot about Russell, as he’s had one of the stranger signature lines to ever be created for a basketball player given that his only model is a lifestyle takedown inspired by the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 7, and Air Jordan 10.
Today we get a look at a galaxy-like colorway of the Jordan Westbrook 0.2 inspired by all of the Space Jam 20th Anniversary happenings going on this weekend. The offering features a premium black suede upper with contrasting graphic panels featuring an homage to the cosmos. What do you think of the look? Check out more detailed shots below and know that select youth sizes are available today via Jimmy Jazz.
Buy, Pass, Wait: So Are You Buying The Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Or Not
By SoleInsider
It’s very rare that a weekend of sneaker releases comes down to one pair, but this is a yearly tradition. For as long as some people reading sneaker blogs have been alive, Jordan Brand gets to drop their proper (no low-cuts, now overpriced packs here) annual Air Jordan 11 without much competition from other brands, including Nike. It’s usually the Saturday or two before Christmas, but this year we’re getting the 11 a little bit early as part of Nike’s 12 Soles Collection (you’ll remember last year that Nike moved up their Air Jordan 11 72-10 drop and it may or may not have something to do with adidas releasing new Yeezys at the same time).
Not the actual Space Jams dropping this weekend, but who cares?
With so many pairs alleged to be available and a controversial design decision that have turned off a vocal minority of sneakerheads, there is plenty of talk that this year’s Air Jordan 11 Space Jam might actually be a “failure” in comparison to previous years. Some define failure as not selling out in minutes and see these sitting on store shelves as a sign that the Jordan empire might be cracking, while others are upset about these not being true Space Jams in their eyes. Our guess is that plenty of people will cop these with less shenanigans and foolishness compared to previous years and Jordan Brand will be quite happy with their sales. Especially when you realize that in a few weeks the same people complaining about the “not Space Jams” will be more than happy to give JB 400 bucks for the Suede 11s.
Oh, and there are other sneakers dropping this weekend, along with a Monday drop for the What The Nike Kyrie 2. Enjoy this Space Jam edition of Buy, Pass, Wait.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (GOT ‘EM) I would have bought them even if I had to pay $220 plus tax. It’s the last Jordan retro I needed to get out of my system and while it isn’t the Space Jam per se, I’m not bothered by it. However, if you’re not happy with these, do a hard pass. If you don’t think Jordan Brand isn’t planning to bring back the actual Space Jams at some point in the future, you haven’t been doing this for long.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) I actually dislike the slightly higher patent leather cut at first, although though this variation is a replica of the OG pair. I’m pretty biased towards this theme and I’m looking forward to see how this version sells.
Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) All year long I was undecided as to whether or not I wanted to pick up a pair of these. Now that the shoes are finally here, I’ve decided to pass up on them. To be quite honest, I’m not the biggest fan when it comes to 11s. I’ve only owned two pairs and one of them happens to be a low-top. I got the 72-10 last year and being that it’s an all-Black shoe, I really don’t see the purpose of picking this one up since it kind of looks like last year’s release. Yeah, it’s a classic and one of the best Jordans of all-time but to be I don’t feel like I need it in my collection.
Andres Carrillo, News: (GOT ?EM) The Space Jam 11 is a pair of sneakers I’ve always admired from afar because I thought there would never be a real opportunity for me to pick them up (for retail). I’m happy Jordan Brand made lots of pairs this time around and I was able to cop. I’ve seen lots of pictures and the more I see them, the more I like them. I’m sure they look better in person. I can’t wait to get these in-hand on Monday. Hurry up UPS man!
Reebok Question Mid Blue Toe
Reebok
EIC Juan: (BUY) Allen Iverson crossed up MJ in these, so yeah, I want them. I have more Questions than I can count at this point, thanks to my personal obsession with them and Reebok’s seeding structure. I can never have enough and this is just another one to cross off the list.
Renz: (WAIT) One of the nicest colorways on the silhouette, and since it’s a classic, it should please a lot of die-hard fans that remember this pair. I’m not too tempted with the retail price though.
News Juan: (PASS) It’s a cool colorway of the Reebok Question, but I just don’t myself picking up a pair of Questions at retail price. Perhaps if they find their way to the clearance rack I’ll pick up a pair, but I’m not about that retail price life when it comes to this model.
Andres: (WAIT) There’s only a few colorways of the Question Mid that I would ever consider buying, this Blue Toe pair is one of them. That being said, I wouldn’t pay full retail for them. I’d consider buying hem for around $100.
Under Armour Curry 3 TCC
Under Armour
EIC Juan: (PASS) I like the story but the colorway isn’t really doing anything for me. I can’t tell if the upper is a hard red or blood orange or crimson, so I’m going to have pass on it for now because of my poor eyesight.
Renz: (PASS) While the sneaker hasn’t been as popular. This variation is one of its stronger options. The colorway looks really nice on the sneaker, but, I’m still not interested.
News Juan: (PASS) Meh. An all-Red sneaker on a model that I’m not too fond of. I hope one day I find a Curry 3 I like, I just know it won’t be this one.
Andres: (PASS) The Curry 3 does look better in red, but I still don’t like it enough to actually buy a pair. At this point I don’t think I’ll be picking up a pair of Curry 3s at all..
Nike Kyrie 2 What The (Pick One: North America or International)
Nike
EIC Juan: (INTERNATIONAL) It’s either the most daring What The pair or the laziest, I can’t tell at the moment. I appreciate that the details in the shoe are what justify their nickname as it borrows from Kyrie’s championship season and other Kyrie 2 releases, but damn if that Off-White isn’t bound to be a victim of dirt and yellowing over time. I might get the North American pair if it’s available ($120 is practically an impulse buy), but I pine for the Asia-exclusive because I’m a contrarian jerk who likes things he can’t have easily.
Renz: (NORTH AMERICA) Both iterations are really solid but I’m leaning towards the sail-colored pair since it’s a lot cleaner and sleeker-looking in my opinion. I also like the reversed idea of the What The theme. With the Kyrie 3 releasing soon, this is a nice way for the Kyrie 2 to close out.
News Juan: (NEITHER) Not really a big fan of this tonal “What The” rendition, but the latest normal “What The” Nike creations have been lacking so maybe this isn’t such a bad look after all. I just wouldn’t call them “What The” colorways. Either way, both are a pass, but if I HAD to choose one, it’d be the overseas version.
Andres: (NEITHER) I guess I kind of understand what Nike was trying to do with the “What The” theme this time around (mash up of materials instead of colors), but I don’t think it was well executed. The thing that bothers me the most is that both pairs are tonal. Like how am I supposed to see all of the details when the shoe is all one color?? Nice try Nike, but you could have done better, especially since this is Kyrie’s first “What The” sneaker.

Finally! The Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Is Only Hours Away
By SoleInsider
We’re less than 24 hours away from quite possibly the biggest and most anticipated Jordan Brand release of 2016. Coming in sizes for the entire family, the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam is finally here. We’ve been talking about this release since January of this year. It almost seems surreal to see that the shoe has finally arrived. No need to describe it, you all know what it looks and the significance behind it. Consider this your release reminder and one of the final looks of the shoe courtesy of Germany’s BSTN.
Here is what you need to know about the shoe:
Full family sizing will be offered. GS, PS, TD and Crib sizes are listed at $170, $90, $70 and $55 respectively. Adult sizes will cost you $220.
Although the exact number is unknown, it is believed that more than 1 million pairs will be available. With that being the case, if you really take the time to try and get a pair, you should have no problem doing so. I suggest you hold off on paying resale prices until you’re absolutely sure you won’t be able to get a pair at retail.
Find these at select Jordan Brand retailers all around the world, including BSTN (U.S. shipping is available)

The Air Jordan 11 Gets Covered In Bronze By Matthew Senna
By SoleInsider
LA-based artist Matthew Senna is back with another amazing creation right on time for the release of the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam tomorrow.
Having previously covered the Air Jordan 1 in Gold, Senna returns with another one-of-a-kind metal-cast Air Jordan, this time the beloved 11. Matthew Senna recalls the Air Jordan 11 playing a big part in his high school/college days as he and his entire basketball team would wear the sneaker on the court. To find out the Air Jordan 11 means to Senna and the reason he decided to cover it in bronze, read his entire interview on the Jordan Blog. Check out the images of his bronze 11 creation above and follow Matthew on Instagram to keep up with his latest work.
Michael Jordan Wins Lawsuit Against Qiodan Sports Over Use Of His Name
By SoleInsider
Remember the lawsuit that Michael Jordan had against Chinese Sportswear company Qiodan Sports? Michael was suing the company for the use of his name to sell sports products, including sneakers and apparel. “Qiodan” is the Chinese version of Jordan?s name which is why MJ was so upset and decided to take legal action against them. Last year the Beijing courts sided with Qiodan and decided that “Jordan” wasn’t the only use for the word “Qiodan” and that it is a very common last name used by Americans.
Fast forward a year and a half later and MJ has reclaimed the rights to his extremely valuable last name. China’s highest court ruled largely in favor of Jordan this week in a landmark decision that is expected to set a precedent for protecting personal names in trademark cases in a country with a reputation as a haven for counterfeit goods. The Supreme People?s Court, handing down a partial victory to Jordan, revoked the rights of Qiaodan Sports Co. to use Jordan?s last name written in Chinese characters.
According to Bloomberg News, the Beijing court said Jordan?s Chinese name is ?well-recognized? in China and that he should have the legal right to it. As a result, Qiaodan Sports, which operates about 6,000 shops in China, will have to give up its trademark registrations of the Chinese version of his name.
Jordan initially filed the suit in 2012, alleging that Qiaodan Sports created a business model around his Chinese name and used his iconic ?23? jersey number without his permission. The former Chicago Bulls star had shouldered several losses in China?s lower court?s before this week’ victory. Not only was Qiodan Sports using Jordan’s name, but they were also using a logo of a man jumping in the air that resembled the “Jumpman” logo.
Looks like the Chinese authorities finally got it right.
The Jordan Melo M13 Will Release In An All-Black Colorway
By SoleInsider
We’ve gotten several different looks of the soon to release Jordan Melo M13 over the past few weeks, all these looks have been on the Black and Gold colorway. For the first time ever, the Jordan Melo M13 is seen in the new all-Red colorway.
This second colorway opts for a tonal look as it’s done in Red from top to bottom. The only image currently available shows that it’s actually a monochromatic color scheme as no type of contrast appears in sight. This includes Red on the entire upper, sole, branding, lining and laces. The latest Carmelo Anthony signature shoe is now available overseas, which leads us to believe that a stateside release appears to be imminent.
I?m not going to lie, it actually looks pretty cool. It?s not something I?m used to seeing on the Melo signature line, but as the saying goes, ?change is good?. I still prefer the Black and Gold colorway though.
The Air Jordan 1 Rare Air Max Orange Will Release Next Month

Earlier this week we took a closer look at a few upcoming colorways of the Air Jordan 1 Rare Air which made its debut in 2015. We now have a release date to report for the Max Orange pair that gives off some Shattered Backboard vibes.

I don’t like or hate this version of the Air Jordan 1, but it just doesn’t interest me. I’d rather just buy an OG pair.
See The New Suede/Leather Air Jordan 1 Mid On Feet
By SoleInsider
If you haven’t had enough of sneakers with tonal uppers in “premium” materials with a solid white sole, you’re in luck, because plenty more are in store for 2017. For example, this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid built in Sequoia suede with randomly placed leather panels in a matching shade will feature?you guessed it?an all-white sole. If you’re still not yet satisfied with the tonal upper/white sole look, these are for you. Stick with Sneaker News for further updates.
Russell Westbrook and Jordan Brand released the Jordan Westbrook 0.2 earlier this year with one of the latest colorways being the fancy Vachetta Tan pair that featured a hairy suede upper. But we all know that Russ is the type that likes to make a statement with his wardrobe, so that’s probably not a pair you’d see him wearing during a post or pre game interview.
Now this new galaxy colorway, this is more up Russell’s alley. Covered in a black nubuck upper, this Westbrook 0.2 is then contrasted by galaxy detailing on the tongue, heel, and side panels for that touch of flair. A white rubber sole unit caps things off.
You can pick up the women’s colorway of the Jordan Westbrook 0.2 Galaxy at select Jordan Brand retailers today for $100.
This Precious Metal Air Jordan 11 Is A Work Of Art
By SoleInsider
Los Angeles-based artist and art director Matt Senna has a strong bond with his sneakers, so much so that he turns them into works of art. And we’re not talking about the fully wearable customs that have flooded the sneaker world over the past half-decade either. Instead, Senna took a different route: casting Air Jordan retros in one-of-a-kind metal to turn them into statues that embody some of Tinker Hatfield and Michael Jordan’s most iconic creations.
Senna was inspired by his lifelong connection with the Air Jordan 11 and his reaction to seeing the special edition slide-out box when he was a kid paired with the incredibly different patent leather style on the silhouette. He didn’t start out casting the Air Jordan 11 first though, as he wanted to experiment with the Air Jordan 13 because as he puts it:
“I cast my black and red XIs first. They were, I think, the second pair that I did. I first made an experimental pair with the XIII, because I didn?t want to ruin my favorite shoe when I was messing around. And then I went to do my favorite. So I did the XI second. The natural flashiness of the patent leather translates really well to metallic. Even if it?s not a person?s favorite shoe, it resonates because it?s such a beautiful silhouette. In bronze or in metal, it looks different from all the others because of the sheen.”
Capping off the 20th anniversary of Space Jam, will be the return of this iconic Air Jordan 11.
Unlike its previous 2009 release, this particular pair stays true to its OG build, similar to the pair that MJ first wore during the 1995 NBA Playoffs. A higher cut black patent leather overlay consists as the most distinguishable element, in addition to classic Concord Jumpman branding and the number ?45? stitched on the back heel.
Although not pictured, this 2016 edition comes in a special Looney Tunes-themed box with cartoon graphics to further commemorate the iconic movie.
Set to be offered in full family sizes, adult pairs will retail for $220, followed by GS, PS, TD and Crib sizes listed at $170, $90, $70 and $55 respectively.
Purchase one or for your entire family at select JB and Nike retailers starting tomorrow, Saturday, December 10th.
Click and bookmark our official Air Jordan 11 Space Jam 2016 launch page now for more images, videos, the latest info and release details.
I?m not a big fan of the patent leather overlay?s higher placement, but, this is one of my favorite sneakers ever. I?m just glad it?s being released again and hopefully in lots of quantities.
