The $400 Air Jordan 5 Take Flight Comes With Fighter Jet-Inspired Box and Bag

Yesterday we got word that the latest Air Jordan 5 retro will retail for a premium Pinnacle price point of $400 USD when it releases next Saturday, February 11th. This isn’t any old remastered retro though, as Jordan Brand has taken the inspiration of the P51 shark squadron mustang fighter jet to the next level with the Air Jordan 5 “Take Flight”.

Not only does the Air Jordan 5 Take Flight feature a premium leather wrapped midsole with embossed shark teeth in a matching Sequoia shade for a militarized finish, but the pair comes equipped with some untraditional accents ranging from an oversized ‘Flight’ lace lock and a brand new protective shoe bag with the mustang fighter jet’s signature shark teeth. That look will also be featured on an exclusive limited edition box to stand out from the pack. Other new updates feature laser etching on the ventilated side panel instead of the plastic webbing that made the Air Jordan 5 such a head-turning model to begin with. What do you think of the Jordan 5 Take Flight?

Check out more detailed shots of the premium Air Jordan 5 Take Flight below and while this pair is slated to release on February 11th, stay tuned for more of the latest Air Jordan Release Dates right here on Sneaker News.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High BHM To Release Next Saturday

Jordan Brand’s annual Black History Month Collection took a surprising left turn this year, as the Jumpman included two head-turning Air Jordan 1 creations that focused on utilizing the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG silhouette instead of the usual Air Jordan 1 Mid model, while the brand even brought back an oft-forgotten trainer from the early 2000s in the Jordan Trunner LX. The differences from years past don’t stop there either, as today we get official photos of the coming Air Jordan 1 “BHM” for adult sizes, slated to release on February 11th.

The simple yet premium tumbled black leather of the Jordan 1 BHM ditches the prints and patterns native to Jordan Brand’s usual Black History Month celebration. Instead, the Jumpman added removable and swappable velcro patches on the Wings branding, the Swoosh side panels, and the alternating tongue logos featuring traditional Jumpman logos and Nike’s ‘BHM’ crest. What results is a simple, refined look perfect for any occasion. We just hope that we see more of the removable patches on the Wings and Swoosh branding in more upcoming Air Jordan 1 offerings. What do you think of the look?

Check out more official photos of this year’s Air Jordan 1 BHM below and while we don’t have an exact price point for this pair yet, know that we’ll keep you updated via our Air Jordan Release Dates page.

Another Set Of Black And White Air Jordan 1s Is Releasing Soon

Two more simple looks perfect for everyday wear are arriving this weekend for the Air Jordan 1 High. Following up the simple black and white looks in the “Yin Yang” pack, the Air Jordan 1 is already back again with even more simplified looks: all-white or all-black uppers with the opposite color for each outsole. The leather uppers may all be one hue, but they vary in texture thanks to the perforated paneling that give the duo the “perforated Pack” nickname. Get another look at each here, and don’t forget that they drop this Saturday, February 4th at Jordan Brand retailers like Renarts. Pairs are also available right now on eBay.

New Images Of The Air Jordan 6 All Star (Chameleon)

NBA All-Star Weekend is only a couple of weeks away which means one of the biggest sneaker release weeks of the year. While Nike Basketball won’t be releasing any “All Star” sneakers this year, Jordan Brand will be.

One of those All Star releases will be this brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 6. Looking at this shoe we see that it comes covered in an iridescent leather all throughout the upper that features color-changing qualities. Additional iridescent detailing can be seen on the aglets, with a black midsole and partially translucent outsole wrapping things up.

Expected to release on February 16th (Thursday) for $225, will you cop or drop?

Air Jordan 5 Take Flight To Retail For $400

Add another model to the ever-growing list of $400 Jordan retros to release at retail. The Air Jordan 5 “Take Flight” will release on February 11th, 2017 listed at the luxury price point given the militarized construction that takes cues from the P51 flight bomber jacket.

The Air Jordan 5 Take Flight is a part of a larger “Take Flight” Collection that saw the Air Jordan 8 “Sequoia” release earlier in the year alongside the original Air Jordan 15 retro. This is no normal Air Jordan 5 though, as the premium construction features a leather wrapped midsole for the first time ever, a new laser perforated ventilation unit on the side panel that does away with the original mesh insert, and a crazy oversized ‘Flight’ lace lock comprised of a similar leather.

The military inspiration is also accomplished through the overall colorway, as that familiar Sequoia green shade hits the entirety of the upper to contrast Jordan Brand’s signature Vachetta Tan lifestyle accent on the tongue. There’s no 3M reflective material to be found on the pair, and the midsole shark teeth, already inspired by a fighter plane, are hidden through that luxurious leather wrap. So do you plan on paying a Pinnacle-esque price of $400 USD for this pair?

Retailing for $160, you can find this stylish pair at select JB and Nike retailers starting Saturday, February 4th.

Introduced back in 2000, the classic Jordan Trunner silhouette has been revived this year in a special BHM variation to essentially celebrate Black History Month.

Gold accents throughout, co-branding and glittering on the outsole rounds out the overall details.

A Closer Look At The Jordan Trunner LX

Perhaps the biggest news of Jordan Brand’s 2017 Black History Month Collection wasn’t the removable patches on the Air Jordan 1 or the hypnotizing metallic gold patent leather on the grade school exclusive option. Instead, it might’ve been the return of an oft-forgotten early 2000s retro training model in the Jordan Trunner LX.

For those of you who don’t remember, the Jordan Trunner LX ushered in the training regime for the Jumpman in the year 2000. Its construction mirrored the Air Jordan 15’s unique woven construction on the forefoot while a bevy of neoprene panels created a laceless slip-on fit while a dual strap handled the lockdown duties. It’s a bit of an oddity that this retro would return in 2017, but there’s definitely a cult-following associated with the silhouette. If you’re one of the fans that plans on picking the pair up, then rejoice, as more colorways are likely headed to retail shelves after the BHM colorway drops on February 11th.

In the meantime, check out more detailed shots of the Jordan Trunner LX BHM below and stay tuned for more Jordan Release Date updates right here on Sneaker News.
