Air Jordan 31 Low UNC Releases Next Week

What better time to flaunt your fandom of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels then when their men’s team won yet another national championship? UNC rocked a number of PEs throughout their run at the NCAA national title and Jordan Brand even released the Air Jordan 31 Low Tar Heels PE at retail alongside a number of other Jumpman sponsored schools. But if you’re looking for a darker take on UNC’s official colorways, there’s yet another Air Jordan 31 Low featuring a UNC theme slated to release on May 26th for $160 USD. This pair doesn’t come equipped with any official Tar Heels logos or callouts, but it definitely features an inspiration from Jordan’s alma mater thanks to a dark Midnight Navy upper with that signature gradient transitioning to white by the toecap. University Blue branding matches the metallic sheen seen on the midsole for a perfect match for that icy bottom. What do you think of the look? Check out more official photos below and stay tuned for more Air Jordan Release Dates right here on Sneaker News.

Update: The Air Jordan 1 High Wings Will Release On May 17th

Well, that escalated quickly. We have big Air Jordan 1 High Wings updates to share with you. Not only do we have official images of the shoe, but we also have a release date, and get this: It’s only a couple days away. Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking to scoop up a pair:

The Air Jordan 1 High Wings will release on May 17th.
The shoes will be available via Nike SNKRS beginning at 10AM EST.
The retail price is $200.
Only 19,400 pairs were made.

You ready?

The Air Jordan 1 High Wings follows in the footsteps of the Air Jordan 12 and also gets the “Wings” treatment. This version of the Jordan 1 comes with a Black and Metallic Gold color scheme. The Wings theme is implemented on to the shoe, but this time around the leather upper is already rubbed off, thus revealing the very unique copper finish. Adding to the premium look of the shoe is the additional Gold accents noted on the heel, the embossed Wings branding on the tongue, the Black midsole/icy outsole, and last but not least, the individual numbering on the inner tongue. This is a very limited release. Best of luck getting a pair.

The Derek Jeter Air Jordan 11 Navy Suede Is Limited To A Grand Total Of 5 Pairs!

Talk about limited. We just got word that the Derek Jeter Air Jordan 11 Navy Suede that was unveiled yesterday is limited to a grand total of 5 pairs. That’s it. As most of you know, the Air Jordan 11 Navy Suede was not for sale. The 5 pairs were only available via a scratch-off lottery at the pop-up shop that was located right across Yankee Stadium.

This exclusive Air Jordan 11 pays homage to Derek Jeter and the legacy he has left not just with the Yankees, but with the entire MLB. The shoe comes with a all-suede upper done in a nice Navy Blue colorway. Adding more of a premium feel to the shoe is the debossed branding, Black leather laces and the White midsole and milky translucent outsole. Want a pair? Your best bet would be finding these on the resell market. Be prepared to pay some really good money for this exclusive Jordan 11.

What If There Was A BAPE x Air Jordan 1

What would happen if BAPE collaborated with Jordan Brand atop the iconic Air Jordan 1? The Japanese streetwear staple did hook up with Mike’s son Marcus and Trophy Room for a limited apparel collaboration not too far back, so it’s only right that we start fantasizing what could be. Customizer Jack The Ripper is already a step ahead of us, as he’s imagined the BAPE x Air Jordan 1 “Royal” featuring premium touches of calf leather on the lining, a canvas printed ape camouflage in the recently released retro Royal look, and a star graphic instead of the Nike Swoosh on the side panel. JTR was selling pairs starting at $1,200 USD with the base shoe provided which would probably be what this collaborative pair would fetch in the reselling market if it ever happened. Check out more detailed shots below and let us know what you think of this custom BAPE x Air Jordan 1 “Royal”.

From The Heart: Michael Jordan Writes Genuine Letter To Derek Jeter

The New York Yankees will retire Derek Jeter’s #2 jersey at Yankee Stadium today. This is a big day not just for Yankee/Jeter fans, but for MLB fans all over the world. Derek Jeter is considered one of the best to ever do it all while wearing a Yankees uniform throughout his 20-year career. Looking to seize the moment, Michael Jordan decided to write Derek Jeter a sincere letter shows how much he admires the man Derek Jeter is.

Jordan and Jeter have been friends since 1994 when Michael Jordan decided to take a sab at baseball.

?We first met when I was in Arizona Fall League, when he was playing baseball. MJ is like a brother to me; our relationship has grown throughout the years, and he?s like an older brother I never had,? Jeter told the YES Network in 2014. ?We?ve had a lot of conversations about life and about competing, both on and off the field or court.?

The friendship that spans three decades has created a lot of love, admiration, respect between the two. If you’d like to read Michael Jordan’s full letter published to The Players? Tribune you can do so below. You can also expect coverage of Jeter?s ceremony to begin on today at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Derek,
A legacy is built by more than what is seen. It is not given, it is earned.
Beyond your 20 years in the Majors and an endless list of accolades, it was your love and respect for the game that set you apart.
Your pursuit of greatness on and off the field has set the standard for others to follow.
Much RE2PECT on cementing your legacy and having your No. 2 jersey retired.
Congratulations.
Your friend,
Michael

Update: Mens Sizes of The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink Will End Up Releasing

The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink was this weekend’s biggest release. Unfortunately for many, it was a grade-school and kid’s size exclusive. Many of us (who wear size 8.5 or above) were forced to take an L this time around, or were we? There appears to be a plot twist because not it seems like there are men’s sizes of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink.

The reason we say this is because Don C took to his IG to announce details for his LA-based Jordan pop-up shop located at 905 S. Hill Street and he mentioned something very interesting regarding the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink in men’s sizes.

Aside from saying that the LA-based Jordan pop-up shop will have sizes of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink in sizes 4c-8Y + exclusive apparel in sizes Toddler 2T – Men’s 2XL  + Bulls caps + Royal Beach restock, he also mentioned that people in attendance will also get a chance to win the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink in men’s sizes before their release.
That statement proved two things.
1: The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink does exist in men’s sizes.
2: The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Pink will eventually release in men’s sizes since his posted said “before their release”.
Big news, right? Stay tuned as more info begins to surface.

Our Latest Look Of The Air Jordan 2 Alumni

Release info and details of the Air Jordan 2 Alumni continue to remain a mystery. Will it release on its own? Will it release as a part of the Air Jordan x Converse Pack? We don’t have those answers yet, but what we do know is that it’s on its way.

The Air Jordan 2 Alumni is a special version of the Jordan 2 that takes time to pay tribute to the classic North Carolina vs. UCLA Alumni Game at Pauley Pavilion on June 28, 1987. Micheal Joran (along with other NBA stars such as James Worthy, Kenny Smith and Reggie Miller) played in that game, which took place after Jordan’s third year in the NBA. During that game, Michael Jordan decided to wear this special version of the Air Jordan 2 version which was known back then as the Air Jordan 2 UNC PE.  The Air Jordan 2 Alumni comes in a White, Varsity Red and Black color scheme. Giving it that UNC feel is the Carolina Blue noted on the heel tab of the shoe. Special detailing which was not on the PE version include the special branding on the heels that reads, ?MJ? and ?6/28/87? as a nod to the date the UNC vs. ULCA Alumni game was played. Scheduled to release sometime in June for $190, stay tuned as more info begins to surface.

The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High Will Retail For $350

OFF-WHITE and Nike/Jordan Brand have a few different collaborations that they’ll be releasing in 2017 with one of them being this Air Jordan 1.

The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High is essentially a modified version of the classic Air Jordan 1 Chicago. At the moment there’s not much information known as far as when and where these shoes will be releasing, but today new images have surfaced that shoe us a picture of the box. If this is the correct box for the shoe then that means that the sneaker will retail for $350. That’s a $190 price increase in comparison to other Air Jordan 1s which are typically priced at $160. The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High features the white/black/red Chicago colorway with a new design that incorporates new materials, textures, and branding.
