Nike Brings Flyknit To Skateboarding With Eric Kostons Newest Signature Shoe
By SoleInsider
When you think of Flyknit technology, skateboarding isn’t necessarily synonymous with the woven material. In fact, the functional upper has found its way into the hearts of every major sport’s fans except those for skateboarding, but now the wait is over. Nike SB’s premier skater, Eric Koston, is taking the Flyknit leap with his new Nike SB Koston 3. His third silhouette brings back some familiar features like a drop-in insole with Lunarlon and Zoom Air technology for one of the most responsive rides in skating out there, but branches out thanks to the woven textile found on the ankle collar and heel for a look unlike anything you’ve ever seen before in the skating industry. ?If it?s disruptive, so be it,? Koston said of the shoe. ?I?m not afraid of change. That?s when progress is made.? Koston became obsessed with Flyknit when plenty of other sneakerheads did – when HTM was first introduced in 2012. Here the technology is implemented to create a lock-down support system with flexible ankle protection. Expect the Koston 3 to be a top performing model thanks to designer Shawn Carboy, who spared no expense in making this silhouette an extension of the foot’s natural movements. The Nike Koston 3 will launch at retailers tomorrow, March 1st. Check out some official photos below and let us know if you plan on grabbing a pair by taking your thoughts to the comments section.

The Nike KD 8 EXT Vachetta Tan Releases This Weekend
By SoleInsider
Hender Scheme can’t be too offended that the Vachetta Tan leather craze has taken over the sneaker industry in 2015 and the earliest moments of the new year thanks in part to their own creations. The lifestyle imprint that stole some of your favorite designs like the Air Jordan 4, Nike Air Force 1, and Nike Presto then upgraded them in outstanding “replicas” featuring an all tan leather construction has sat back and watched Jordan Brand and Nike Sportswear take back the look and just do it themselves. The latest Nike KD 8 EXT returns with that same aesthetic in tow, adding a bright stripe of Total Orange on the Zoom Air portions for a great addition to the early-March release lineup. KD might still be sulking after being a bystander to Steph Curry’s amazing display of marksmanship in a recent loss last week, but Durant has to be happy where he stands in the Nike Basketball realm. His eighth signature’s lifestyle updates continue to get better – seriously look at the perforated branding, off-white exposed flywire and matching laces, and gold lace tips here. Can you see yourself rocking this KD 8 off-the-court? Check out detailed photos below and grab your pair this coming Saturday, March 5th for $200.

I like the look of the Inneva Woven, I just can’t wear any shoe with a Free sole, since I find it very uncomfortable. Add in a Lunarlon sole and I’m all in there.

The Nike SB Koston 3 is definitely a new look for the signature SB line. Being that Koston is a big fan of Flyknit, he felt the need to utilize it on his own signature line and was able to do so by way of the Flyknit collar. Said to be inspired by the Nike Magista football boot, Nike SB applied it to their sneakers for the first time ever. The use of Flyknit technology gives you a locked-in feel around the ankle which definitely helps when you’re on top of the board. The shoe also goes on to use the Nike Hyperfeel concept to help “create a symbiotic relationship between your feet and your board.? In other words, the shoe will include the drop-in Nike Lunarlon midsole which comes thinner around the toes to enhance boardfeel. The heel features thicker Nike Lunarlon foam and a responsive Nike Zoom Air unit to help riders land softly.
Koston goes on to say:
?You can make the most cushioned shoe ever, but if you can?t feel your board, then what?s the point? The Koston 3 is designed to be an extension of your foot. You?re trying to get as close to that barefoot feeling as possible.?
Nike designers also strategically placed areas of grip and durability in key areas, which is reflected in the thin, textured web-rubber sidewall and outsole. These areas help provide added flexibility and helps riders flick their skateboards. The more the rubber breaks in, the better it performs. There’s no doubt that the Nike SB Koston 3 is a new look for Nike SB, but Koston went on to say this:
?If it?s disruptive, so be it,I?m not afraid of change. That?s when progress is made.”
The Nike SB Koston 3 will officially release on March 1st at select Nike SB retailers for $150. You like this new look? Sound off below.
Change is good. I have nothing against the traditional look of SB signature models, but if the shoe performs better, I’m sure people will get used to the look.

A few days ago we gave you a first look of the Nike Kobe 11 Bruce Lee. Today we get to see detailed shots of the shoe alongside a dope Bruce Lee action figure to go along with the theme of the shoe.
This Bruce Lee version of the Nike Kobe 11 will come constructed out of a yellow Flyknit upper that’s inspired by the bodysuit that Bruce Lee wore in ?The Game of Death?. The yellow Flyknit gradually turns into a black Flyknit as you go further down the shoe. Adding to the theme of the shoe, red scratch marks that symbolize Bruce Lee?s wounds in the movie ?Enter the Dragon? appear on the heel of the shoe. A black sole unit, tongue and Nike Swoosh make an appearance, while yellow laces and red Kobe branding on the tongue complete the aesthetics of the shoe. Set to release March 19th for $200, is this one of the best colorways that we’ve seen on the Nike Kobe 11?
I’m not even a Bruce Lee fan, but these are hard! I love yellow sneakers and the branding on the heel gives the shoe a nice pop. This will be my first pair of Kobe 11s.
