Group play for Team USA Basketball has concluded and it looks like the victory lap that many anticipated has hit a few snags along the way. After a dominant exhibition season and a pair of easy wins to start the tournament, USA barely squeaked out wins against Australia, Serbia and France. While they are still undefeated heading into the knockout rounds, all the talk about international basketball taking a step back these past few years sounds a little haphazard now.
Since we are still a sneaker blog based in America (and because the Philippines didn’t even make it to Rio), we’ll be rooting for KD, ‘Melo, Uncle Drew, Boogie and the rest to take home the gold this week. Here’s a look back at the kicks they’ve worn so far including some new colorways of the Nike KD 9, Nike Kyrie 2, Air Jordan XXX1 and many more. Hopefully someone gets real bold and break out some gold (probably Draymond Green) for the medal rounds.
