A Quick Breakdown Of The Shoes That Inspired The Nike LunarCharge

Nike Sportswear hand-selected a number of the imprint’s most popular running models throughout the 90s and early 2000s for their latest model, the head-turning Nike LunarCharge slated to release on November 18th for $120 USD. For those interested in the inspiration behind the shoe, simply check out the photo above with all of the classic models it references: the Air Max 90, Air Flow, Air Current, Air Presto, and the modern LunarEpic.

The Nike LunarCharge Premium LE benefits from an updated Lunarlon outsole unit that features a unique ‘Nike’ callout on the midsole for a change of pace. The slip-on upper features a contemporary aesthetic comprised of past influences like the Nike Air Flow’s neoprene, the Nike Air Max 90’s eye-stay, the overall shape of the classic Nike Air Current, and even internal elements from the recently retro’d Nike Air Presto.

The Nike LunarCharge LE will debut in a simple “Oreo” like colorway thanks to a speckled support system, black, heather grey, and a polka-dotted toecap. Premium suede hits the heel tab with additional ‘Nike’ text branding stitched in a matching grey shade. What do you think of the upcoming NSW model?

Joining alongside the recently featured night maroon pair is this traditional colored women?s edition of the popular Nike Air Huarache.

Elevated with more lifestyle appeal, this variation is punctuated by an embossed paisley pattern across its premium leather upper in tonal black. The stealthy hue exudes a distinctive look with the patterned finish, as it’s offset against a crisp white midsole unit to finish off the bold, yet understated design.

Retailing for $130, you can purchase this pair at select Nike retailers starting tomorrow, Friday, November 18th.

Author’s Take

The silhouette can still be versatile for all genders. I?m biased towards the palette and the paisley design is a really nice touch.

Nike SOHO Opening On November 18th

Nike’s new five-story retail store on 529 Broadway is set to open its doors on Friday, November 18th at 12PM EST. The store was originally scheduled to open last Friday, but due to permit issues, the grand opening was postponed. Nike already handed out wristbands to those who waited in line last week for a chance to purchase key launch and restock product that was announced for the grand opening, so all of that is likely spoken for already. Read Nike’s official statement on the new date below and check out an inside look at Nike Soho here.

Nike Air Max 90 Nike Air Max 90 1 Nike Air Max 90 2

While the Air Force 1 received special NYC variations recently, the latest Nike Air Max 90 is treated in a city theme as well, featuring the city of Chicago in Illinois.

The classic retro runner is doused in a pristine white finish and punctuated by laser engraved icons on the toe box inspired by the windy city. Other notable details include the number “312” placed across the collar, iridescent accents on the eye stays and branded heel badge, as well as pops of gold for the lace tips.

You can find this pair exclusively at the Nordstrom x Nike Sneaker Boutique in downtown Chicago, starting November 19th.

Look Out For The Nike Air Max Plus Swimming Pool

Nike Air Max Plus Nike Air Max Plus 1 Nike Air Max Plus 3 Nike Air Max Plus 2

The Nike Air Max Plus returns this Fall/Winter 2016 season in a new vibrant finish of an eye-catching water graphic across its entire upper.

Shaded in an official palette of mineral teal/white — the wavy watery theme that evokes a pool vibe is simply prominent across its upper and tongue section. A crisp white mudguard complements the overall profile, which also flows across its entire full-length rubber sole unit to finish off the distinctive build. Other notable details include Nike branding on the tongue and distinctive badged branding on the heel.

This pair is scheduled to make its debut at select Nike retailers overseas starting November 24th, which may also suggest its arrival stateside.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for more updates.

Author’s Take

I?m generally a fan of runners and this style is appealing overall. The graphic looks cool, but, I?m not too keen on it. It?s pretty stylish as well though.

While we await the release of both colorways of the Nike Air Max Zero Doernbecher next month, how about taking a look at another new colorway that is also beginning to arrive at retailers.

This time around the Nike Sportswear silhouette gets covered in an almost tonal upper as Metallic Silver dominates the majority of the shoe along with a couple other shades of grey. Black and red accents have then been added on the inner liner, tongue tag, branding, and outsole. Down below we see a white rubber midsole and outsole for further contrast.

Look for the Nike Air Max Zero Metallic Silver to hit stateside retailers in the near future. Will you be grabbing a pair?

Author’s Take

One of the better colorways I’ve seen release lately. A little more black and red on the upper would have made it look better.

Nike KD 9 Releasing In Red Flyknit

So much for that grace period of awkwardness that was supposed to happen between the Golden State Warriors and Kevin Durant to start the season. The team sits comfortably at 8-2 and KD is putting up his usual astounding numbers in the form of nearly 28 points and 8 rebounds a game. But even though his new uniform colors are royal and yellow, we’re seeing quite a bit of red in the Nike KD 9 release slate.

You may remember the Nike KD 9 “University Red” that dropped back in early October. The shoe managed to give off a traditional “Bred” look thanks to interwoven black and red Flyknit throughout for a simple, yet head-turning early look at the model. The latest KD 9 Red White offering takes a simpler approach that almost looks like it could be a ‘Team’ takedown of the model given the simple monochromatic red Flyknit matching the midsole while stark white Swoosh branding matches the bottom. It’s the kind of look you’d find alongside other primary colorways in Eastbay catalogs for the High School and College seasons. What do you think of the Nike KD 9 Red White option?

Catch more detailed shots at this simple KD 9 Red White colorway below and stay tuned for a release date in the near future right here on Sneaker News.

Nike Air Max Zero Metallic Silver

The Nike Air Max Zero has been used as sparingly as possible by Nike Sportswear since being introduced in 2015 to help celebrate the inaugural Air Max Day. Since then, NIKEiD availability has helped the Tinker Hatfield model grow while the occasional Quickstrike has held us over. Now we get to see the return of the famed sample turned lifestyle model with a brand new Air Max Zero “Metallic Silver” colorway perfect for any occasion.

If you’re a fan of the greyscale aesthetic, then you should be familiar with the “Cool Grey” Air Max Zero option that was made available this past October. This pair switches up the material textiles throughout for a fuse-heavy design that’s as lightweight as it is durable. Additional black and red accents hit throughout to break up the silver shades. Grab your size right now from select retailers like Oneness while supplies last.
