As you may already know, the Nike Air Foamposite One will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2017 which means that Nike will be bringing back some classic colorways as well as will be releasing some new ones.

The Swoosh has gotten a bit of a head-start on the 20th anniversary festivities as they have joined forces with WZK Shanghai to put together one of the most amazing Foamposite displays/exhibitions that we’ve ever seen. Consisting of some rare gems like the “Tianjin” and “Paranorman” Foamposites, the space has a little something for any and all fans of Foamposites. This project was created as part of Nike’s “12 Soles” campaign for the holiday season and also includes a special retrospective Foamposite book which is limited to only 150 copies that will be given out to people who buy the Dr. Doom Foams at the exhibit.

Take a look at detailed images of the massive exhibit that is currently open right now in the Shanghai area.

Nike Sportswear Displays An Insane Foamposite Exhibit In Shanghai

One of the biggest storylines of 2017 will undoubtedly be Nike’s celebration of the iconic Foamposite, the futuristic basketball shoe that landed on Earth in 1997. With several original Foamposite releases confirmed for next year (starting with the Royals in mid-January) and plenty of new styles likely to come forward, there’s no question that the silhouette, once regarded as the most coveted in sneaker culture, will regain that prestige.

As part of Nike Sportswear’s 12 Soles campaign for the Holiday season, the Swoosh teamed up with WZK Shanghai for a jaw-dropping display of Foamposites over the last two decades – even unreleased samples that first surfaced in 1995. Some of these gems include the incredible “comic strip” Foamposites, the grail-status “Tianjin”, and even an early “Royal” sample that features NIKE molded into the upper.

Alongside this display, Nike and WZK Shanghai worked with Instagram personality @3dk129 to create a retrospective Foamposite book; only 150 copies of the book will be given out to those who pick up a pair of the “Dr. Doom” Foamposites at the space. Get an exclusive look at the Nike Sportswear 12 Soles Foamposite Exhibit below.

The Nike Aptare Essential Is The Latest From The Swoosh

NIKE APTARE ESSENTIAL 1 NIKE APTARE ESSENTIAL 2 NIKE APTARE ESSENTIAL 3 NIKE APTARE ESSENTIAL 4

Nike is proud to introduce their brand new silhouette. Dubbed the Nike Aptare Essential, has that same laid back, casual style and feel that worked so well for the Roshe Run a few years ago. Let’s get a closer look at this upcoming model.

The Nike Aptare Essential opts for a laceless design consisting of a drawstring lacing enclosure essentially making it a slip-on sneaker. The shape is very similar to a Roshe, while the toe  box appears to be inspired by the Sock Dart as the mesh constructed upper comes equipped with a synthetic strip for added protection and durability. Branding-wise, a “NIKE” hit is imprinted on the heel cage in tonal fashion. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

It kind of looks like a swimming shoe, don’t you think? It’s a cool idea, but I really don’t see myself wearing these at any time.

The Nike Metcon 3 is the latest version of one of Nike’s most beloved trainers that they have to offer. This time around, Nike will release two different versions of the shoe: The Nike Metcon 3 and the Nike Metcon DSK Flyknit. Based off the name alone, it’s safe to say that one will come with a Flyknit upper and the other won’t.

The regular Nike Metcon 3 is lighter and more flexible than ever, an ideal design for strength drills and high intensity cardio sessions. The Flyknit is also just as good, the only difference is that it comes equipped with the aforementioned woven upper. Both pairs will have features such as a dual-density outsole, an elevated 4mm offset (Nike Metcon 3) or 6mm offset (Flyknit version), and a drop-on articulated cushioning system that adds comfort while working out.

Release details are as follows. The Nike Metcon 3 will debut on NIKEiD on December 19th, and release on January 5th. The Nike Metcon 3 DSX Flyknit will release on Nike.com on January 2nd.

Author’s Take

The Nike Air Foamposite One Royal 20th Anniversary Wont Release Until Next Year

Previously expected to drop later this week, the release date for the Nike Air Foamposite One Royal has been pushed back to 2017.

This makes plenty of sense since the silhouette won’t officially celebrate its 20th anniversary until next year, so pushing the release back a few weeks would be a proper way to celebrate. The new release date for the OG Royal Foamposites is now scheduled for January 13, 2017. Retail price will be $230. This will be a great way for Nike to kick off the 20th anniversary of the Foamposite One, with the pair that started it all.

Be sure to visit our Nike Air Foamposite One Royal 20th Anniversary hub page for the latest images, release information, and updates on this release.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro Is Back In A Classic Combination Of Black/Gum

With all of the technological advancements that Nike Skateboarding is championing on the likes of their latest batch of signatures (think the Nike SB Koston 3 Hyperfeel, for example with all of its Flyknit and lifestyle touches throughout) there’s still nothing quite like a classic. Nike Air Foamposite One XX Royal Releases Next Month

Those of you hoping to grab the Nike Foamposite Royal 20th Anniversary edition this weekend will have to wait just a little while longer, as the release date is now January 13th, 2017 for $230 USD.
