The Womens Nike Air Force 1 Upstep Warrior Blends Two Worlds Into One
By SoleInsider
The Nike Air Force 1 Upstep Warrior gives a whole new meaning to what is considered a sneakerboot. I mean, just look at it. The bottom half portion scream sneaker, while the top half exudes a night out on the town.
This women’s version of the Nike Air Force 1 appear to be knee highs in height constructed out of a tonal Black leather construction. The base of the shoe is very similar to what a normal Air Force 1 looks like, with the strap even making an appearance. The added height which is also done in a Black leather gives the shoe a whole new look. Lastly, the shoe is given some added aesthetics by adding a gum bottom outsole. Ladies, do you have what it takes to rock these? Or are these too extra? Expect these to drop on December 18th.
The Nike Air Presto Mid Utility Is Back In Wolf Grey
By SoleInsider
Was there a Nike retro that had a better year than the Nike Presto? Not only did the archival running model receive fresh Flyknit revamps, but the ACRONYM Nike Presto Mid continues to be one of the most sought after collaborative efforts of 2016 thanks to its unique zipper construction and head-turning trio of colorways. For those of you that missed out, Nike Sportswear blessed us with the Nike Air Presto Mid Utility, a weather resistant rendition of the model once heralded as a t-shirt for your feet. The Nike Presto Mid Utility also featured a high ankle collar, additional zippers to match the ACRONYM aesthetic, and more.
Today we get a look at a brand new colorway perfect for any occasion as the Nike Air Presto Mid Utility “Wolf Grey” is now available at select retailers. The muted shade of grey benefits from contrasting black laces and a smokey semi-translucent cage overlay on the heel while a more traditional neoprene and mesh skips out on the waterproofing. What do you think of the look?
Select shops like Bows and Arrows have this pair available today for $140 USD and you can always check for availability straight from Nike.com.
Buy, Pass, Wait: adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2, Air Jordan 11 GS Heiress, Nike Doernbecher Collection
By SoleInsider
Ever since sneaker culture turned mainstream, we have been able to put a bow on the year’s big releases right after the drop of the holiday Air Jordan 11. There have been a handful of significant kicks that have launched after the yearly 11s in December, but they don’t register on the scale like the 11s as people are burnt out and enjoying the holidays. This year is a little different as there are three more Saturdays to go after this past weekend’s Space Jam craziness and Nike and adidas are still dropping heat. Check out what’s coming this weekend and what our team thinks about them in this edition of Buy, Pass, Wait.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) The Beluga was the best colorway and also that happened before this conundrum. It’s going to be interesting how my brain processes future Yeezy releases if Kanye continues down the path he’s going on at the moment.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) Just because I missed out on the previous release. If I do get to acquire a pair, I’ll be looking to trade for one of the other colorways. Overall, it’s a classic and versatile pair though.
Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) The most wearable colorway from the Yeezy V2 model thus far. Although that may be the case, I still stand by my word (now more than ever) of never owning anything Yeezy related, ever.
Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) Another pair? The last four colorways are almost exactly the same with the exception of a different color on the side stripe. At this point I guess it really doesn’t matter how many pairs or what colorway Kanye West makes his Yeezys, he knows that they’re gonna sell like hot chocolate on a cold winter day, we all do. These will be another easy pass for me.
EIC Juan: (DONATE) I would buy for collectible purposes if I were filthy rich, but since I’m not and I can’t see myself buying these and rocking them, the best thing to do is donate to Doernbecher or another charity that you believe in.
Renz: (BUY) I always look forward to the Doernbecher collection. Kids can create really appealing iterations of our beloved sneakers. This model is another perfect example and the message/value it holds is just another plus that benefits a good cause.
News Juan: (BUY) Very cool Jordan 7. 10-year old Damien Phillips did his thing with this pair. The colorway looks like it could be a general release. Very wearable. I also really like the way Damien implemented his “likes” on to the shoe without having them take over the entire look of it. The design on the outsole is a very nice touch as well.
Andres: (PASS) It’s not that I don’t like this colorway, because I do, but I’ll be passing on these because I think it’s a shoe that I wouldn’t wear that often. While many people have been bashing on this Doernbecher, I actually think it’s one of the better pairs that have been created. I love the colors used on the shoe.
EIC Juan: (WAIT) I haven’t seen it in person and I can’t figure out if it’s cool or hot garbage. Will withhold judgement because I have that much respect for the Air Jordan 3 as arguably the greatest sneaker ever that I can’t automatically dismiss a new colorway, especially one in a new style like wool, sight unseen.
Renz: (WAIT) I like the utilization of new materials and I don’t think this version looks bad, compared to what the majority of people feel. Maybe I’m just biased towards the silhouette, but, I’d purchase instantly at a lower price.
News Juan: (PASS) I like this wool version of the Air Jordan 3, but I don’t see myself wearing it, ever. I’d rather take my $200 and spend it on a shoe I’d wear more often. Still, I’m very happy to see the Air Jordan 3 back.
Andres: (PASS) In my opinion what makes the Air Jordan 3 so dope is the elephant print and the very noticeable branding on the tongue and heel. This pair doesn’t have any of those things and as a result makes the shoe look so plain. I don’t feel like there was any effort or creativity put into these.
EIC Juan: (BUY IF THEY ACTUALLY HAD MY SIZE) Why not? Also, maybe buying these would be a bad idea because I’d be craving red velvet cupcakes all day. Ok, maybe crave more than I normally would on a daily basis.
Renz: (BUY) Even though it’s exclusive to the ladies, I can still squeeze my size in. This is probably one of the best iterations of the silhouette that’ll be offered for ladies. If you have a GF into kicks, this is a great Christmas present.
News Juan: (PASS) Another pair of Jordans that I like, but just don’t see myself wearing them too often, or at all. Aside from not being able to fit into a pair (I’m a size 10), I’m not fashion savvy enough to know what to wear with a maroon velvet pair of sneakers.
Andres: (PASS) When I first saw this colorway of the Air Jordan 11 I really liked it, but that’s probably because I have an immediate affinity toward burgundy sneakers. But now after seeing it more and more I don’t like it as much as before. It’s cool to see Jordan Brand switch things up with the materials and colors, but it’s just not a shoe that I think can be worn on any given day. They’re just nice to look at.
Nike Kobe AD Black/White
Nike
EIC Juan: (PASS) Waiting for that Flyknit Elite version, Mamba. You know that’s coming, I know it’s coming, stop playing with our emotions and dropping these generic colorways that are going to be on sale in a few weeks anyways.
Renz: (PASS) I’m a fan of the sleek design and although it’s a versatile/classic colorway, I’m not really keen on purchasing this pair.
News Juan: (PASS) Way too simple. Simple can be a good look at times, but for some reason, I expect more from this model. I’m not in any rush to own a Kobe AD so this one’s an easy pass until I come across a colorway that totally blows me away.
Andres: (PASS) Simple and solid colorway, but nothing really impressive. I’m still not too sure how I feel about the Kobe A.D., but I think it has potential given the right colors.
adidas Harden Vol. 1 XENO
adidas
EIC Juan: (PASS) Not enough XENO. I might be in the minority in this one, but my favorite XENO sneaker is still the original ZX Flux where the material was all over the shoe and made it look like I had Randall from Monsters Inc. on my feet.
Renz: (WAIT) I wasn’t a fan of the pioneer pair, but, this variation is one its stronger colorways already. I like the XENO accents and I’m a fan of the silhouette overall. I would purchase this pair as my first colorway of the silhouette, but only at a lower price.
News Juan: (WAIT) Very nice. I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about the Harden Vol. 1 and this Xeno pair is done right. Enough Xeno hits to make a statement, but not too much to take all the attention away from the entire shoe.
Andres: (PASS) I’ve yet to see the Harden Vol.1 in person, but I think certain colorways look decent. As far as this pair goes, if adidas would have added more Xeno hits on the upper it would have looked much better. It just looks like an all-black colorway.
Nike Kyrie 2 Doernbecher
Nike
EIC Juan: (BUY) We didn’t rank this as high as we did on our Top 10 Nike Kyrie 2 list if we didn’t love the design and the message. This is a must-have for me, but I also know it’s going to be a tough buy as is the case with all Doernbecher releases.
Renz: (BUY) With the Kyrie 3 releasing soon, the Kyrie 2 is easily the most appealing design from Kyrie Irving’s early signature line in my opinion. This version probably ranks in a top 7 of Kyrie 2 colorways. The color coordination is pretty clean and coming from a kid, I’m impressed. Once again, a nice message that supports a good cause.
News Juan: (PASS) I respect every DB release because special and inspiring kids get to design them, (how can you hate on that?), but I don’t see myself wearing this pair. It would probably be a cool collector’s item. The shoe has a bunch of cool little custom features that represent the kid very well. Paying tribute to your mom on a shoe you designed is also a nice touch. Shout out to all the moms out there. You’re the real MVP.
Andres: (PASS) One of the better sneakers from this year’s Doernbecher collection, but not one that I would think I would wear too much. It looks too much like a colorways for kids in my opinion. I’m sure fans of the Kyrie 2 will appreciate it though.
Kobe Bryant’s illustrious career may be over, but there’s an entirely new generation of players to carry the Black Mamba’s DNA into the NBA. DeMar DeRozan has been holding down the Nike Kobe AD with a number of awesome player exclusives throughout the early goings of this season, but the Kobe AD is still gaining ground at retail with only a handful of releases dropping at shops. You can expect an onslaught of awesome colorways to light up the New Year, though as today we get a first preview of the coming Nike Kobe AD Triple White slated to arrive in January 2017.
The Nike Kobe AD Triple White features a pristine white engineered mesh upper while white synthetic leather hits the heel for additional support. Pure Platinum accents add slight contrast on the Swoosh side panel branding, heel cage, and translucent protective overlay that encases the natural motion and Zoom Air outsole unit. What do you think of the latest Kobe AD colorway?

Classics Unboxed: See-Through Toeboxes With CLOTs Crazy Nike Air Max 1
By SoleInsider
Chinese creative agency CLOT has had some rather strange Nike collaborations throughout its tenure teaming up with the Swoosh. Their most recent Nike creation brought back the oft-forgotten gel Swoosh branding on the Nike Lunar Force 1 in honor of the imprint’s 10th Anniversary, but the magic really started back in 2006 thanks to an homage to the human foot’s anatomy and the ancient Chinese art of pressure points. The CLOT Nike Air Max 1 Kiss of Death is one of Nike Sportswear’s strangest creations over the past decade, and they have CLOT and legendary Chinese recording artist MC Yan to thank for the creation. The shoe’s most notable feature is what made this Nike Air Max 1 stand out and stand the test of time: transparent see-through toeboxes!
We got our hands on the ultra rare CLOT Nike Air Max 1 Kiss of Death for our latest Classics Unboxed in which we get a look at all of the intricate details of this “East meets West” theme. Not only are the sock liners nonexistent, but the special packaging included anatomical arch supports, a unique booklet, and premium suede and ostrich hits throughout the eclectic colorway. Check out the full video below and stay tuned for more Classics Unboxed right here on Sneaker News every Thursday.
