Nike Just Released A Wacky Update To The Air Tech Challenge II

Andre Agassi had one of the craziest signature sneaker lines in Nike history. He knew it and that was his goal – the man told us himself. You can read more of our exclusive interview with Andre Agassi here. But we think even Andre would be surprised with what NikeCourt just did to his beloved Nike Air Tech Challenge II with this women’s exclusive, now available via Nike UK and coming to the states in the near future.

Nike’s calling this lifestyle creation the Nike Air Tech Challenge XVII (that’s ’17 like the current year for those of you numerically impaired) and it features a number of the aesthetic choices that made the 1990 original such a must-have. The remastered women’s shoe features an off-court construction with a brand new stretch mesh upper for a modernized slip-on fit. An adjustable midfoot strap also adds a trainer appearance to the Nike Air Tech Challenge 17 while a herringbone traction pattern switches up the iconic outsole. We’ll never get tired of the Nike Air Tech Challenge II retros in original colorways, but we’re going to guess that opinions on this new NikeCourt creation will be mixed. What do you think?

We’re still waiting on a stateside release, but know that you can grab your pair today courtesy of Nike UK.

LeBron James Debuts An Alternate PE Of The Nike LeBron 14

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently feeling the winter blues. The teamed dropped 8 games in January and despite the addition of sharp-shooter Kyle Korver, LeBron’s been quick to take to the media and say that the squad still needs playmakers in the form of a backup point guard for Kyrie Irving and an extra big. Maybe that’s why LeBron continues to break out grey versions of his Nike LeBron 14, to match his mood and the overall vibe from the Cavs’ January.

He and the Cavs got on the right track last night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, setting a season high in assists and demonstrating why they’re still considered the best team in the Eastern Conference. There were even some added shades of navy and yellow to liven up yet another grey LeBron 14 PE. Perhaps the most interesting update came on the midfoot strap, as ’23’ appeared behind the yellow Swoosh for an added graphic touch.

While the ‘Out of Nowhere’ colorway released at a number of select shops already, we’re still waiting for the first widespread release of the Nike LeBron 14 to hit retailers on February 10th. Check out LeBron’s latest PE below and stay tuned for more LBJ updates right here on Sneaker News.

VLONE x Nike Air Force 1 Releasing Next Week

Nike Sportswear continues to give us revamps of Bruce Kilgore’s iconic 1982 creation in the Nike Air Force 1. We’ve seen the Nike SF-AF1 bring a militaristic twist with durable materials throughout the upper to help you survive the colder months, and just yesterday Team Epiphany showed off a brand new model known as the Nike Air Force 1 Sport Lux. Pair that with the news that ACRONYM may be bringing their Nike Air Force 1 Downtown sample to fruition and there’s enough craziness atop the Air Force 1 to go around. Now we have news that the highly anticipated VLONE Nike Air Force 1 is finally releasing on February 9th, 2017.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low has always been one of the staples in the streetwear community. For 35 years the shoe has held it down and Nike’s made sure to bring back a number of iconic colorways within the past few months. A$AP Bari and A$AP Rocky’s cosign comes in the form of a tumbled black leather with contrast orange stitching throughout while the Swoosh branding truly pops thanks to the shade. It’s a look that’s fairly common within the VLONE catalog and we’re excited to finally get our hands on a pair come next Thursday. A$AP Bari took to Twitter to hint at the coming collaboration with NikeLab, so stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News. We still don’t know how widespread a release this will be (you can expect it to be fairly limited) and are waiting to find out what retailers will be stocking the VLONE Nike Air Force 1 Low, but stay tuned. In the meantime, head over to our Release Dates page for more updates.
