A Closer Look At The Nike Kobe A.D. Time To Shine

With Nike Basketball having unveiled the Time To Shine Collection today, we now give you a closer look at the Kobe A.D.

While the KD 9 Elite, Kyrie 3, PG 1, and LeBron 14 will all be releasing this weekend, for some reason we won’t be seeing the Kobe A.D. hit retailers just yet. The Kobe A.D. Time To Shine features a black upper with purple detailing on the heel of the midsole and an iridescent Swoosh. A gum rubber outsole finishes off the look. There is no release date yet for the Kobe A.D. Time To Shine, but we’ll let you know if anything changes here at Kicks On Fire.

The Nike Arrowz Has Similarities To The Sock Dart

Previously thought to be the Nike Sock Dart 2, it appears that this new silhouette from the Swoosh is actually known as the Nike Arrowz.

Still having some similarities to the Nike Sock Dart, this new design from Nike Sportswear features a textile upper, synthetic overlays on the toe and heel, and a TPU cage on the side panels that resembles the one used on the Nike Sock Dart.

Are you a fan of the upcoming Nike Arrowz? Get a few looks at the Triple White and Black/Grey pairs above and keep it locked to Kicks On Fire for release information.

A Full Look At The Nike Basketball Time To Shine Collection

Nike Basketball has taken the time today to unveil the all-new Time To Shine Collection that will be worn by all remaining Nike schools in the NCAA Tournament.

This collection includes the PG 1, Kyrie 3, LeBron 14, Kobe A.D. and the debut of the all-new KD 9 Elite. The KD 9 Elite advances the knitting capabilities of Flyknit to improve fit and containment for the basketball player. “Containment for lateral movement is achieved through knitting tunnels into the Flyknit upper that allows us to channel a single cable around the entire foot,” explains Nike Designer Leo Chang. “This cabling setup can micro-adjust and conform around the foot for an adaptive fit.”

Each pair is highlighted by the addition of a distinctive iridescent Swoosh. The entire collection, with the exception of the Kobe A.D., will be available at Nike.com and select retailers on March 24.

Nike Is Releasing More Classic Dunk Retros

This is usually the time of year when Nike Sportswear brings back a couple of iconic colorways of the Nike Dunk from the “Be True To Your School” Collection given that the legendary basketball model was the silhouette of choice back in the mid-80s for some of the top collegiate programs during March Madness. But since Nike has basically brought back every colorway from the ‘Be True’ program, NSW is switching things up and bringing back oft-forgotten colorways of the Nike Dunk High like this retro “Violet Dust” option perfect for the Spring 2017 season. The Nike Dunk High Violet Dust features clean combination of smooth white leather while a plum accent color hits the overlaying panels and Swoosh branding. There’s still no word yet on a Release Date, but stay tuned for more updates in the near future.

Nike Basketball is currently trotting out 10 of the 16 teams left in the NCAA’s March Madness Sweet 16, and in honor of the occasion, the Swoosh is introducing four new colorways with the ‘One Shining Moment‘ theme present through metallic and iridescent branded accents in their Time To Shine Pack this Friday, March 24th. But the standout news here is that the ever-popular Nike PG 1 “Shining” will get a re-release with wider availability after a limited run sold out to mark the debut of Paul George’s Nike signature debut. As for the other pairs included, the LeBron 14 gets its iciest installment yet with a simple white mesh upper accented by Metallic Silver throughout. The Time To Shine Pack will also introduce the world to the first installment of the KD 9 Elite featuring a more wearable upper than ever with the help of full-length Zoom cushioning. Unlike past Elite installments, the price point remains the same despite the overhauled upper at just $150 USD. The Kyrie 3 features a colorway closely resembling his teammate’s, but with a vibrant pop on the unique traction system peeking through in Multi-Color form.

Check out preview shots of each of all 4 of the Time To Shine offerings below and stay tuned for more Release Date updates right here on Sneaker News. You can find each option available via Nike.com this Friday with prices ranging from $110-$175 USD.

A Full Air Jordan Retro WINGS Collection Is On Display At The Nike HQ

The 2016 release of the Playoffs-inspired Air Jordan 12 Retro was the start of the “WINGS” collection by Jordan Brand. Inspired by the iconic poster of MJ spreading his arms to his sides, the Air Jordan “Wings” design concept takes on black, gold, and white detailing and hides a feathery wing graphic beneath a layer of paint on the upper. The upcoming Air Jordan 1 “Wings” takes on a bit more of a luxurious approach by taking on a full burnished leather upper opposed to the hidden Wings route.

Spotted at the Nike WHQ in Beaverton, OR is a full set of the Air Jordans featuring the Wings aesthetic; this doesn’t necessarily point to a release in the future, but at least we know they exist on some format! Check out the full spy video below.

The Flyknit Racer Inspires This New Nike Dualtone Racer

A successor to the widely popular Nike Flyknit Racer has not been produced as of yet, although, this new Nike Dualtone Racer is suggested to be a more casual version of the silhouette.

Utilizing the Flyknit Racer’s iconic profile as the base of its design, the sneaker bears a more premium construction with suede, instead of flyknit, with contrasting stitching prominent along its side panels and collar section for a more distinctive look.

Previewed in an oatmeal finish, the sneaker is topped off with a similar two-tone full-length phylon sole unit as well.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for the official reveal and release date.
