Eric Koston And Guy Marianos Numbers Skate Brand To Release Nike SB Collaboration Tomorrow

In late 2016, Eric Koston and Guy Mariano launched Numbers, a new skate imprint that aims to put the attention back on the innate “indie” attitude of the sport. Maybe collaborating with a billion-dollar brand like Nike isn’t the best way to express that, but Koston and Mariano are, of course, on the Nike SB roster, so a shoe collab really shouldn’t be scoffed at. A bold red and crisp white colorway of the Blazer Low AC with velcro straps are dropping tomorrow at skateshops and on Nike.com at 10 AM EST.

The Nike Kobe A.D. Compton Drops Next Week

Turns out the the upcoming Nike Kobe A.D. Compton is actually inspired by Demar DeRozan’s childhood memories of the Kobe Bryant. DeRozan’s earliest memory of Kobe was during Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Western Conference Semi-Finals between Kobe’s Lakers and the Utah Jazz. During that game, young Kobe air-balled a couple of shots during a crucial part of the game. Instead of letting those moment deplete his confidence, Kobe used it as fuel to get better and as you all know, the rest is history. While all this is happening, 8 year old DeMar is looking, observing, learning.

DeRozan grew up watching Kobe in his hometown of Compton. Kobe had a big impact on his life on the court, as well as outside of it. Using that as inspiration, the Nike Kobe AD Compton will feature a Compton-inspired Black and White sockliner. Other features on the shoe include greyscale accents on the Swoosh and Kobe branding that end up blending in nicely with the Light Bone and Pale Grey upper. The Light Blue, Purple and Yellow hits on the tongue branding is said to be a nod to the Utah Jazz, who got the W the day Kobe was air-balling left and right. Retailing for $160, pick up the Nike Kobe AD Compton beginning April 12th.

The Nike LeBron 14 Is Releasing In A Mag Colorway

nike-lebron-14-mag

We’ve seen Back To The Future Nike Mag inspirations on a plethora of Nike silhouettes ranging from the Nike SB catalog to the Nike Hyperdunk series, but there doesn’t seem to be too many parallels between Marty McFly and LeBron James other than the Swoosh branding that appears on their feet, until now. Today we get a look at an upcoming LeBron 14 that looks an awful lot like the Nike Mag’s signature combination of grey and electric blue, and we have to say, this look is pretty sleek. The Nike LeBron 14 has been featured in a number of greyscale PEs throughout the NBA season, and this pair features contrast white Swoosh branding on the strap, blue speckling on the midsole, and a darker than usual icy blue tint on the hexagonal air units below. What do you think of the coming Nike LeBron 14 Mag colorway? We don’t have a Release Date just yet, but stay tuned for more updates right here on Sneaker News.

DeMar DeRozans Earliest Memory Of Kobe Inspired The Nike Kobe A.D. Compton

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, and boy did Kobe Bryant take a lot of shots during his NBA career. The Black Mamba holds the record for most missed field goals in the history of the NBA, but that just comes with the territory when you’re a legendary volume scorer like Kobe. DeMar DeRozan‘s earliest memory of Kobe Bryant was during the Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Western Conference Semi-Finals when a young Kobe infamously airballed a number of shots in the game’s deciding moments. The fact that it didn’t deter Kobe’s confidence left a profound impression on DeRozan, who at the time was only 8 years old.

That’s where the inspiration behind the upcoming Nike Kobe AD Compton comes from, as DeRozan’s time watching his idol from his childhood home of Compton not only shaped his game, but his life. The Kobe AD Compton features a unique Compton-inspired black and white sockliner with greyscale accents on the Swoosh and Black Mamba branding add a stark contrast to the Light Bone and Pale Grey upper. The only vibrant accents of light blue, purple, and yellow pay homage to the victors of that Kobe airball game, the Utah Jazz. The Nike Kobe AD Compton will be available from select spots on April 7th followed by more widespread availability via Nike SNKRS on April 12th for $160.

The Nike Zoom Spiridon Ultra Releases In Triple White

The Nike Zoom Spiridon is one of the latest cult-classic running models that Nike was generous enough to bring back in OG form, and while the size runs were limited, there’s no denying that the comfortable 3/4 length Zoom Air unit, mesh overlays, and bold and often metallic oversized Swoosh branding made for an awesome pair for both performance and casual use. The Nike Zoom Spiridon Ultra Triple White is the latest colorway to arrive at select retailers.

The Spiridon Ultra Triple White features a crisp all-white upper with an updated tumbled leather Swoosh, clean matching mesh overlays, and hidden reflective 3M elements throughout to match that Triple Black option that released not too long ago.
