First Look At The Nike KD 8 Laser Orange

The current craze around the Nike KD line is currently focused on the KD 8 Elite and the KD 9 that was just officially unveiled last week. But the original KD 8 isn’t quite done yet.

Today we take a first look at an upcoming colorway that features one of the most colorful uppers that we’ve seen on this silhouette yet. Vivid Orange combines with Laser Orange, Black and Light Brown on the Flyweave upper while a white midsole/outsole unit adds some contrast down below.

This Laser Orange colorway of the Nike KD 8 is currently scheduled to release on March 30th for $180 so stay tuned for more images in the next few days.

Author’s Take

The combination of black and orange on the Flyweave upper looks better than I would have imagined. I’m curious to see better images so I can give a better opinion on this colorway.

The Yellow Nike Air Max Zero Will Release Again On Air Max Day

Air Max Day is only a few days away and Nike will once again be releasing another colorway of the Nike Air Max Zero to commemorate the event. The original white and yellow colorway of the retro-inspired silhouette will be releasing once again this weekend.

After making its debut back in January exclusively through the Nike SNKRS app, the OG colorway of the Nike Air Max Zero will now be getting a wider release on Air Max Day, March 26th. In addition to the white and yellow upper the shoe also features a black inner liner, black detailing on the outsole and a black tongue tag. Take a look at the images above and look for them to release at select retailers this weekend.

Author’s Take

When this colorway released on the SNKRS app in January they sold out instantly. This release will probably also be limited so I expect them to sell out pretty quick again. I’m not a fan of this colorway so maybe I’ll create one on NIKEiD in the future.

Is There Another Nike Kyrie 2 Duke Releasing

We’ve already seen two Duke colorways of the Nike Kyrie 2, the standard and PE editions, but is there a third on the way? These might not have official Duke inspiration, but they certainly could pass for another Blue Devils colorway, as they feature hits of royal blue along with the predominantly grey color scheme. An “alternate” Duke colorway, perhaps? Enjoy an early preview of the colorway in question while we await any official word from Nike on inspiration, and stick with Sneaker News for all upcoming release information.

Author’s Take

I’ve always been a fan of the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 ever since the original release back in 2004. I remember being a freshman in high school when they released. This all-white colorway is pretty dope but that $200 price tag isn’t.

Take A Look At Tinker Hatfields New Creation, The Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Superfly T

NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 1 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 2 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 3 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 4 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 5 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 6 NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA SUPERFLY T 7

Completing the trio of HTM creations is the Nike Air Max Ultra Superfly T designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield.

Hatfield took the iconic Nike Air Max 90 and added the collar of the Nike Mercurial Superfly and as a result changed the performance of the silhouette. As far as the colors on the sneaker go, Hatfield says that he pulled inspiration from the United States and France. Each country has had considerable influence on his career, so that?s where you get the reds, whites and the blues. The collar is composed of Flyknit while leather has been added to provide an element of luxury.

The Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Superfly T will be available March 22 on nike.com/airmax and on Air Max Day (March 26) at select retailers.

Author’s Take

I feel like we’ve already seen this sihouette before. I’m a big fan of the original Nike Air Max 90 so naturally I like this shoe. I’m just not too sure about that Flyknit collar. Unless it makes the shoe a lot more comfortable I’ll just stick to the original.

Mark Parker Joins The Air Max Day Festivities With The Nike Air Max Ultra M

NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 1 NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 2 NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 3 NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 4 NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 5 NIKE AIR MAX ULTRA M 6

Just like Hiroshi Fujiwara did with designing the Nike Air Max LD-Zero H, another member of the “HTM” crew has also designed his own Nike Air Max silhouette.

This time around it’s Mark Parker with his creation, the Nike Air Max Ultra M. Parker has borrowed elements from the Air Max BW in the design of his shoe. He describes the Air Max Ultra M as having “the bold technology of the big window, but has a more organic tone in the upper.” Parker also looked even deeper into the archives when designing this shoe by analyzing the Vengeance, the Vortex and the Vector silhouettes. The Nike Air Max Ultra M is an ode to the classic cut and sew design language of the 1980s, executed in a modern way.

The Nike Air Max Ultra M will be available March 24 on nike.com/airmax and on Air Max Day (March 26) at select retailers.

Author’s Take

It’s always cool to see new Nike Air Max silhouettes, but in my opinion this looks a little too much like the Air Max BW. I’m not sure if people will like that but I don’t.

Nike Air Force 1 Hi LV8 Iridescent

Nike’s played up that whole iridescent aesthetic in a number of futuristic ways, whether it be introducing a new women’s exclusive Huarache model, showcasing the shiny unicorn skin texture to their Flyknit chukka series, or letting the accent speak for itself like Nike Sportswear does here with this upcoming Nike Air Force 1 High. Subtlety and Iridescence don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand, but when paired with a premium and traditional white leather base, the results are as contrasting as they are head-turning. The Swoosh branding, heel, and lace dubraes all feature the rainbow array of Deep Pewter that morphs into spots of purple, green, and teal once light hits the patent leather material. No word on a release date yet, but check out more official photos below.

A Detailed Look At The Nike Basketball Easter 2016 Collection

Nike Basketball’s 2016 Easter Collection is right in line with the final days of the NBA’s regular season. For most of the Swoosh’s basketball superstars, that sentiment is good news, but it also comes with a grain of salt – Kobe Bryant will be saying goodbye to the game for good. His “Easter” pair is especially vibrant, as orange, grey, and black Flyknit comes together for a standout look. A Mad Mex-esque skull logo even flanks the heel for an added feature that’s not usually readily associated with the Easter season. The rest of the collection including the LeBron 13, KD 8, and Kyrie 2, are all rather subdued offerings that utilize a grey base to allows for scarce bright accents to splash throughout the respective uppers. The Nike Basketball Easter 2016 Collection will arrive at retailers on March 25th. Be sure to check out more photos of each of Nike Basketball’s upcoming Easter colorways and stay tuned for more release date updates right here on Sneaker News.

The Nike Kobe Black Mamba Pack Begins Tomorrow With The Huarache 2k4

Kobe Bryant’s career fades to black at the end of the season, with the ending of his legendary 20-year NBA career. As they should, Nike honors his legacy in a big way by presenting the Black Mamba collection. Just like his career, the collection containing every single Nike Kobe signature shoe as well as the Huarache 2K4 and original Hyperdunk fades to black beginning with the first model in white and the last in black. The tonal collection kicks off with the Huarache 2K4, Kobe’s pre-signature Nike model worn during his first season as a Nike athlete back in the 2003-04 NBA season. The iconic Nike Basketball shoe is featured in a luxe all-white leather construction, complete with Kobe’s logo stitched on the medial toe and and a custom leather hangtag. The Black Mamba collection begins releasing tomorrow, March 22nd via the Nike SNKRS app and select Nike retailers.

Official Images Of The Supreme x Nike Air Max 98 Sail

Fresh off of the revelation that there’s two more Supreme x Nike Air Max 98 colorways in the works, today we get a look at official photos of the “Sail” look featuring a bold twist of snakeskin texture wrapping around the side panels. Supreme has always managed to garner attention with their Nike Sportswear collaborations as the brand seemingly goes on and off, alternating between some of the more iconic silhouettes in the brand’s arsenal (think the Air Force 1, Foamposite, Jordan 5) and lesser-known varieties (GTS, SB 94). The Nike Air Max 98 probably occupies somewhat of a middle-ground. Yes, the shoe is a member of Nike’s illustrious flagship visual air imprint, but rarely sees a retro and lives in the shadow of the AM90, AM95, and even the AM97 to some extent. But leave it up to Supreme to make a lesser known offering a must-have, as the brand’s adept eye for design manages to include premium materials like synthetic snakeskin atop an interesting color palette of Sail/Metallic Silver-Varsity Red. Still no word yet on a release date, but you can be on the lookout for Supreme’s latest NSW collaboration to arrive in the near future.

Kobe Fades To Black With The Nike Black Mamba Pack

The end is near. Nike has just revealed the Black Mamba Pack, Kobe Bryant’s final pack of shoes leading up to his curtain call in the NBA on April 13. Each Nike signature shoe is represented in the pack along with two very important kicks in his career, the Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 (his first main shoe as a Nike athlete) and the Nike Hyperdunk 2008 (he helped introduce the Hyperdunk back during the 2008 Summer Olympics in China).

Known to many as the Fade To Black Pack thanks to an FTB designation on the box labels, the Black Mamba Pack begins with the Huarache 2K4 in a pristine white colorway and it slowly transitions into an almost all-black rendition of the Nike Kobe 11. Each box will also contain coordinates that highlight cities that have played in a meaningful role in Mamba’s career.

The schedule for Black Mamba Pack has also been revealed. The shoes will drop via SNKRS app with the final going through THE DRAW process. No word on retail releases although that will probably change as the day progresses. Stay tuned here for more info on the Nike Black Mamba Pack.

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: I want them all. As somebody who was alive and aware of Kobe’s entire career this is not just a timeline of his basketball life, but a reminder of where I am came from and where I am today in the 20 years since he first came into your lives. Yeah, leave it to me to make it all about me, I guess… kidding…
