The Nike Air Force 1 Is Now A Golf Shoe
By SoleInsider
The ubiquitous Air Force 1 silhouette is ready to dominate another surface as Nike unveils the iconic basketball/lifestyle sneaker transformed into a golf-ready shoe. Featuring the Air Force 1 upper, this golf-outfitted variety makes use of a LunarLon cushioning with waffle-tread Integrated Traction for maximum stability. The Nike Lunar Force 1 Golf shoe will hit Nike.com and select retailers beginning April 1st in white/white and black/white colorways; you can find these on the feet of Nike Gold athlete Tony Finau throughout the PGA Tour.
Do not adjust your TV sets. For this upcoming Nike Kobe 11 release, the shoe gets a creative look inspired by the static and color bars of off-the-air television. We’re not sure if you younger readers will even know what that is in this age of digital everything, but the older sneaker heads will certainly know what’s up. We’ll have to wait for word from Nike on an official story behind the TV inspiration, but enjoy this early look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for a release date.
The Nike Air Presto‘s as summer-ready a silhouette as we’ve ever seen thanks to the sock-like neoprene construction that brings comfort and breathability all enclosed into a sleek, stylish design. This Spring 2016 season has seen Nike Sportswear get creative with numerous graphic-heavy looks, from a digi-camo to Tinker Hatfield’s famed Safari print. Now the Nike Presto is returning to a more simplified aesthetic with the upcoming “Racer Blue” colorway. The splash of royal blue throughout the dynamic stretchy mesh material serves as a unique base while translucent white supportive overlays match the branding and lining. You can pick up the latest Presto colorway today from select international spots like JD Sports.
The Nike SB Dunk High Waffle Releases This Weekend
By SoleInsider
After giving you a first look at this upcoming delicious colorway of the popular Nike SB Dunk High last week, we have now learned from Nike that the Waffle colorway of the popular high-top Dunk SB will be releasing this weekend.
Dubbed the Nike SB Dunk High Waffle, this new option of the SB Dunk High features a special waffle woven fabric for the upper done in Flay Gold Star/beige, chicken & waffles artwork on the insoles, and sweet syrupy Swoosh branding. Finishing off the look is a gum midsole/outsole. According to Nike, the favorite meal of a number of Nike SB pros is the hearty and comforting dish of Chicken and Waffles. As a result they created a colorway that serves as the perfect representation of the ideal dish that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a late night snack.
Look for the Nike SB Dunk High Waffle at select Nike retailers and online on nike.com beginning on April 2nd for $110.
I’ve only had chicken and waffles one time in my life and it was delicious. If half the amount of people that like chicken and waffles buy this shoe then it’ll be a great success for Nike.
The Nike Air Max Zero Ultra Tokyo Is For The #ChicksOnFire
The Nike Air Presto last released in the Safari colorway earlier this month to the delight of many sneakerheads and soon we’ll be seeing the release of the perfect Summer colorway,
Later this Spring/Summer we will be seeing the release of the Nike Air Presto in a pristine all-white color scheme. The shoe features white all over the upper including the mesh, laces, inner liner, side panel cages, and midsole. The only hit of contrast comes on the outsole where we see a slight touch of black by the heel.
No exact release date is available yet for the all-white colorway of the Nike Air Presto but stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates. In the meantime take a look at these official images and let us know if you plan on copping down in the comments.
This will definitely be a banger for the Summer, but I just can’t rock an all-white mesh sneaker. I think this will be as popular as the all-white Air Huarache that released last year.

Fun With NIKEiD: Create Your Own Nike Air Max Zero Masterpiece
By SoleInsider
After a year of limited releases and a few limited restocks, the Nike Air Max Zero is now available for everybody… provided you have $190 (plus tax) and some semblance of creativity to make your own colorway on NIKEiD. In the year since the Air Max Zero made its debut during Nike Air Max Day 2015, the shoe has become a favorite among those who managed to cop a pair and those who were stuck out in the cold. Not bad for shoe that was purportedly first conceptualized three decades ago by Tinker Hatfield.
The Air Max Zero options right now on NIKEiD are standard fare for a shoe making its debut on the service. Anybody who was expecting some crazy special print or maybe looking to produce a decent looking “What The?” pair will be disappointed, but if you want create something that would right at home on a retail shelf (ie. something with mass appeal), there’s plenty to like here. The surprise addition of a gum sole option made for some classy tonal renditions, while the ability to either create a solid or translucent overlay made all the difference in the world.
Check out the 21 samples we’ve put together for your enjoyment and maybe to use as a a reference point. According to NIKEiD, the shoes will be available for a while so you won’t have to worry about rushing to get something out of the door.

#SoPinoy: The Nike Kobe 6 Black Mamba Pays Homage To The Philippines
By SoleInsider
If you’ve visited a flagship Nike store in the past week, you’ve probably already seen the Nike Black Mamba (aka Fade To Black) display. Presented like an advent calendar of sorts, each time the next sneaker in the pack releases, it is revealed alongside one of the 13 cities that played an integral role in the growth of Kobe Bryant. You’ve got your obvious choices like Reiti (Italy), Inglewood and Philadephia, but it’s got some international flavor as well, making stops in Beijing, London and of course the Philippine capital of Manila. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Manila would be included among the 13 cities, but you better believe there were more than a few Pinoys – present company included – who were wondering which shoe would represent the motherland.
Juan Martinez
Kobe has made several trips to the Philippines since he was a youngster who rocked adidas. Because the country is so enamored with the sport (there are cable channels dedicated solely to hoops that covers everything from local high schools to FIBA to the NBA), any time an NBA star makes the trip they are treated like a conquering hero, but Kobe is a little bit different. After so many trips back to Manila, not to mention he plays for a city that has a large Filipino contingent, Mamba is practically royalty.
While you might argue Nike athletes LeBron James and Kevin Durant are more popular in America now, Mamba is still the man overseas. It’s no surprise that Nike has noticed and released timed-exclusive colorways of Kobe’s signature shoes, including our pick for the best Nike Kobe 9 colorway, the Nike Kobe 9 EM PRM Philippines. There is an entire generation of Filipino kids who have grown up watching Kobe from the time he was a young punk kid shooting air balls to Utah to winning championships inside Staples Center. They wear his jersey (although many of them are probably bootlegs because counterfeits run rampant there), rock his kicks and copy his every move.
This kid is a Mamba guy, don’t let the retros fool you. (admu.edu)
The Nike Kobe 6 Black Mamba was the logical choice for the Manila tribute. Like it says on the box, Mamba wore the Photo Blue Kobe 6 during a game with a UAAP (college) select team against Gilas Pilipinas (the Philippine National Team) back in 2011. Even though he was clearly playing at half-speed against kids 10 years or more his junior, Mamba’s skill and understanding of the game was still ahead of his competition on that day.
So far sales of the Nike Kobe Black Mamba pack has been brisk (that’s code for I’ve struck out each time I’ve tried to buy a pair). Between the limited nature of the shoes and the historic significance of each pair, expect this trend to continue all the way to the Nike Kobe 11. But if we were going to be as to which pair would sell out the fastest, it would be the Nike Kobe 6, because it’s #SoPinoy.
Sneaker Con Cleveland Dominated By Nike LeBrons & Jordan Retros
By SoleInsider
Sneaker Con is fresh off an amazing show in Cleveland, OH, so you already know that the Nike LeBrons were in full force during this weekend affair. The Dunk has never looked more delicious. Everybody’s favorite sweet breakfast dish is recreated on this latest premium edition of the Nike SB Dunk High “Waffles”. The Dunk’s upper features a waffle-textured material that’s even complete with syrupy Swooshes and a translucent gum rubber sole that also supplies a tasty syrup effect. Previewed here today by Rock City Kicks, the “Waffle” Dunks are being served up now at select Nike SB retailers.
KoF Live: Unboxing The Nike Golf Enemies Of The Course Collection (Video)
By SoleInsider
The Nike Golf Enemies of the Course collection was designed for the kids. With a slimmer fit, a non-traditional graphic print and the game-changing Nike Flyknit Chukka Golf as its shoes of choice, this is the new style of golf. It breaks from tradition yet still manages to pay homage to the game by acknowledging the unsung hero of every golf course around the world, the groundskeeper.
But it’s one thing to design a collection for the younger generation and a totally different beast to see how said generation actually reacts to seeing them for the first time. So I’ll admit to being a little hesitant to unbox our package from Nike Golf because it’s hard to tell what our sneakerhead audience will have to say. Turns out our fears were unfounded because as you can see in the video above, it was a good time.
The Nike Zoom Talaria was one of the first running models to prominently feature Nike’s Zoom Air technology, showcasing the then relatively new cushion system’s capabilities back in 1997. The silhouette was an instant classic for runners thanks to the comfortable ride, and now NikeLab is paying homage to its history by bringing back a proper retro this Spring. Slight updates are seen in the form of modern updates to the midsole, but the traditional suede overlays, breathable mesh material on the upper, and original outsole all remained untouched. The Nike Talaria retro will debut this Thursday, March 31st online and at NikeLab retailers. Pricing info to come.
Nike Recalls The History Of Zoom Air Cushioning In Running Shoes
By SoleInsider
With the classic Nike Air Zoom Talaria finally on the way back in its iconic neon colorway, Nike takes a look at their history of Zoom Air in running with a special feature today on Nike News. The Swoosh traces its Zoom Air roots in running back to 1995, when the then brand-new iteration of Air was actually called Tensile Air. The tech debuted in the Air Zoom LWP (part of the Lightweight Performance line). One year later, the dynamic and responsive new Air was renamed Zoom, making things official in the Air Zoom Alpha of 1996, which featured four bottom-loaded Zoom Air pods from heel to toe for one of Nike’s smoothest rides ever. Runners were sold, and Zoom Air was here to stay in the brand’s running footwear, next appearing in 1997’s two cult-classics, the Air Zoom Spiridon and Air Zoom Talaria. By 1999, Zoom evolved into a visible iteration, found in the midsole of the Zoom Citizen, another under-the-radar model loved by Nike running shoe collectors across the globe. Visible Zoom then got even bigger for 2003’s update to the Spiridon, featuring in a large heel unit held within and supported by a Pebax cage.
Now more than twenty years after its debut, Zoom Air is still the preferred Nike cushioning platform across many sports for athletes, especially in running where the Pegasus, Structure, Elite, and racing lines all utilize the landmark technology.
