Author’s Take

Now that I’ve seen what the shoe looks like I’m definitely disappointed. How is a plan yellow and black Foamposite with no special branding or graphics a “Wu-Tang” colorway? Nike should have added something special to make these stand out.

Author’s Take

Both colorways are very nice. I’m a fan of the tonal look on the Sock Darts and the speckled midsoles just give the shoe a much cleaner look. If I had to pick a pair I would go with the black one.

A New Graphic Colorway Of The Nike Air Huarache Is Here

Nike Air Huarache 3 Nike Air Huarache 2 Nike Air Huarache 1 Nike Air Huarache 4 Nike Air Huarache 5 Nike Air Huarache 6

The Nike Air Huarache has been one of Nike’s most popular sneakers of the past year and a half or so. Ever since Nike decided to bring back the retro runner that was designed by Tinker Hatfield people haven’t been able to get enough.

With popular colorways like the Easter Pack having released a couple of weeks ago, fans of the silhouette are always waiting for the next colorway to drop. Well a new colorway is beginning to release and once again it will come in women’s sizing. This is one of the most interesting pairs that we’ve seen lately as it features a couple of crazy prints on the side panel overlays and the toecap. The majority of the neoprene upper is done in Pure Platinum with peach, blue and black accents adding some contrast. The midsole has been done in white while the rubber outsole is black.

This colorway has been labeled as a PRM so it retails for $130. Head on over to your local Nike retailer now for availability and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Author’s Take

I like the different prints used on this Huarache but the peach and light blue hits make it look too much like a women’s colorway. Definitely a solid color for the ladies though.

Author’s Take

I’ve yet to pick up a pair of Prestos but it’s going to be tough for me to pass on these Flyknit versions. They just look too clean. I wish the collar wasn’t so high though.

Shibusha 1 Shibusha 2 Shibusha 3 Shibusha 4

Nike recently released a brand new lifestyle model dubbed the Nike Air Shibusa. The word Shibusa is a Japanese word that translates to simplicity, which is what Nike was going for when they designed this brand new lifestyle silhouette.

Said to be inspired by the basketball courts, the shoe is said to be very versatile and casual looking. It will feature a lightweight mesh upper paired up with responsive cushioning Phylon midsole topped off with an encapsulated Air-Sole unit. Four elastic straps act as the lacing system. It also comes with a slip-on construction making it comfortable and great for people who are always on the go. The first colorway has the shoe comes in a black upper complimented by the darker black hue used on the Nike Swoosh, elastic straps and branding on the heel and tongue. Available now pick up your pair through Nike for $100.

Author’s Take

Not really feeling it. The Phylon midsole looks to chunky paired up with the mesh upper. The lacing system is not my style either, maybe with actual laces the shoe would look better.

This Nike Air Max 1 Rocks Safari And Elephant Print

NIKE AIR MAX 1 1 NIKE AIR MAX 1 2 NIKE AIR MAX 1 3 NIKE AIR MAX 1 4

In the past we’ve seen Nike Air Max 1 models use Safari print on their. We’ve even seen the classic Air Max model rock the Elephant print. Very seldom, if ever do see the shoe rock both prints. Today we take a look at a premium version of the shoe rocking both Elephant and Safari print.

The shoe is constructed out of a light colored suede and brown leather material. Adding some pop to the shoe is the neon lime hits placed on the lining and eyelets, Nike branding on the tongue and heel and the Air unit inside the sole of the shoe. A canvas tongue gives the shoe some added dimension. With all that being said, the main focus on the shoe lies in the used of both prints on the upper. Elephant print is placed on the toe, side panels and heel, while the Safari print covers the entire mudguard of the shoe. If you like what you see, you can now pick up a pair at select retailers for $120.

via: Oneness

Author’s Take

I love Safari print. I love Elephant print. I don’t like both of them on my shoe. It’s doing too much, and adding the neon lime hit was a bad choice in my opinion.

The Nike KD 9 Flyknit Price Drop Does Right By Sneakerheads, But Is It Enough (Video)

?You get a $250 shoe for like $150… That?s a great bargain right there.? – Kevin Durant when asked about the price of the KD 9 Flyknit, which will retail for $150.

Basketball never stops for Nike and even though they haven’t used that tagline for a while now, it still applies to this day, especially in an Olympic year. Soon after the curtains falls on the current NBA season, Nike will be dropping the new Nike KD 9 Flyknit onto sneakerheads and ballers with a new Flyknit look and technology that will catch the eyes of a lot of people. Flyknit is quickly becoming the accepted default tech of most new Nike kicks and with Kobe having already used Flyknit for a while now and Jordan Brand implementing their own woven techniques onto their signature shoe, it was only a matter of time before the rest of Nike Basketball caught up. That time is now.

KD 9 1 KD 9 4 Nike KD 9 3 KD 9 5

But what will definitely get people talking is the $150 price tag, a huge drop from the current Nike KD 8 that retails for $180. Is this is a response to the lackluster – or what appears to be lackluster judging from the dearth of KD 8s getting huge price drops – sales of the KD 8 and LeBron 13? As Kobe Bryant is set to retire and take his signature line to strange places, Kyrie Irving having a lackluster second year as a signature athlete and Stephen Curry becomes the new face of the NBA while also turning Under Armour into something of a threat to the swoosh, changes needed to be made at the swoosh.

Nike still needs to push the boundaries of design in order to justify dropping a new pair every year, but what KD used to be known for – quality kicks at family-friendly prices – had all been obliterated. At the heart of their company will always be innovation – Nike can’t and won’t stop that train – but if that innovation prices out most of the public, it won’t really matter how great that innovation is. That’s been proven by the KDs – even the beloved Aunt Pearl colorway – sitting on shelves.

Will this course correction be a new trend in Nike as Flyknit becomes more widely accepted and eases manufacturing costs and in turn passes the savings along to the consumer? Time will tell, but the KD 9 Flyknit is hopefully a step in that direction.

Let us know what you think about the Nike KD 9 Flyknit in the comments below and don’t forget to follow our coverage of the KD 9 Flyknit here.

The heel counter appears to be made out of a black suede to give the shoe a premium feel. Available internationally beginning tomorrow ($226), expect to see these stateside in the near future.

A Detailed Look At The Nike KD 8 Elite Grey

Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 1 Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 2 Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 3 Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 4 Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 5 Nike KD 8 Elite Grey 6

The Nike KD 8 Elite Home is set to release on April 14th, but if for someone reason you’re not feeling the all-white look, wait it out a few more weeks as a new colorway is releasing the following month. Today we take a look at the official images of the Nike KD 8 Elite Grey.

The Nike KD 8 Elite comes in a Grey tonal colorway done up in a different number of shades. Adding a luxe feel to the shoe is the snakeskin print placed on the overlay of the shoe. Thoughts on the colorway? Thoughts on the shoe in general? You will be able to pick up a pair on May 5th for $200.

Author’s Take

The shoe is cool. Initially, I didn’t like it. I personally would not buy it, but I understand the reasoning behind making the shoe look like it does. Performance over aesthetics.

The Release Of The Nike Air Footscape Motion Sakura Is Only Days Away

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Nike Air Footscape Motion review here at the Kicks on Fire archives, but that’s about to change as Nike is getting ready to release a Sakura version of the unique looking shoe. Today we take a look at the official images and release date of the Nike Air Footscape Motion Sakura.

Sakura means Cherry Blossom in Japan, and being that the flower is currently blooming as we speak, Nike decided to utilize that theme on to the shoe. The Footscape Motion starts off with a Dark grey base. The tonal look of the shoe is then accented by the “Sakura” details placed all over the shoe. In addition, the shoe also comes with 3M reflective detailing on the area surrounding the Nike Swoosh branding placed on the heel. Another notable feature worth mentioning is the fact that the shoe appears to come with two different insoles, in which one happens to be made out of cork. If you want to get a pair you will be able to do so soon and they’re set to release on April 2nd. Cop or drop? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

I’ve always had mixed emotions towards the Nike Air Footscape Motion. Some days I like it, some days I don’t. It’s a very abnormal looking sneaker. I guess since I’m on the fence about it and not completely in love with it, it’s probably best I pass on the shoe.
