One Of Nikes Most Popular Sneakers In Japan Gets A Sakura Upgrade
By SoleInsider
Cherry blossom season is in full bloom in Japan right now and Nike Sportswear is taking advantage of the beautiful occurrence with a number of exclusive graphic-heavy “Sakura” related releases this Spring 2016 release slate. To the uninitiated, Sakura is the Japanese word for a number of cherry blossom trees and has profound symbolism linking to the transience of life. NSW is upgrading their collection after introducing a Sakura Roshe Run with one of Japan’s favorite Nike retros, the Nike Air Footscape Motion. Known for its asymmetrical lacing system and unique chukka-like outsole (one that’s been repurposed countless times by Nike in years past), Nike drapes the dark grey base with a near-iridescent finish thanks to layers of cartoonish cherry blossoms. Alternate cork insoles come with the pair while reflective 3M detailing lands on the heel. This special edition Air Footscape Motion retro will arrive at retailers on April 2nd, but there’s still no word on sizing or pricing information. Stay tuned for more updates.
Nike continues the brief tradition of the ultra high-top with the incredibly bold design of the Nike KD 8 Elite. First there was Kobe’s Flyknit Elite varieties that took the industry by storm, and now Kevin Durant is poised to one-up the Black Mamba’s signature entries with the rise of the KD 8 Elite. By now you’ve seen the alternate versions during Durant’s pregame shooting sessions, with the supportive built-in sock going all the way up to the knee. For most, the retail version will be more than enough, as today we get a look at what could be the most talked about upcoming model in the sneaker game in a new “Grey” colorway. This tonal aesthetic features subdued qualities throughout in a number of grey shades while a snakeskin pattern hits the main overlay for some added appeal. What do you think? Check out a detailed look at the latest KD 8 Elite colorway below and know that you can grab this pair on May 5th for $200 USD.

#SagerStrong: Craig Sager Wears Nike KD 7 EXT Snake iD In Return To Sidelines
By SoleInsider
The basketball world got a dose of bright-colored goodness and life on Tuesday Night when TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager was in Oakland to cover the Golden State Warriors game against the Washington Wizards. This was the first game Sager has been a part of since announcing in an interview on HBO’s Real Sports last week that the acute myleoid lukemia he has been battling for quite some time was no longer in remission.
Noah Graham/Getty Images
As you might expect, the NBA family and the rest of the sports world was happy to see Sager. Even as he tried his best to conduct interviews and talk about the ongoing game, everybody he talked to from Wizards coach Randy Wittman to Festus Ezeli to Kenny Smith and Stephen Curry wanted to thank the broadcaster for being there and offering words of encouragement.
And because we live in 2016, the hashtag #SagerStrong blew up on social media on Tuesday with people rocking their finest colorful suits. Not to be outdone, Sager brought the fire as with a suit that would make Kevin Garnett proud and a pair of kicks that we know Kevin Durant would love, a pair of Nike KD 7 EXT Snakeskin iDs that were sent to him by Nike last year. In a nice touch, the shoe includes the nicknames “Mr. Fancy” and “Suits” on the inside tongues.
Craig Sager of Turner Sports: "I think my demise has been prematurely reported. I'm going to make medical history." pic.twitter.com/ra43CvKARi
Sager hopes to continue to work while he wages his battle with cancer for the rest of the regular season and into the playoffs. Hopefully he’ll get the chance to cover as many San Antonio games as possible not only because it’s close to where he gets his treatments in Houston, but also because we get to have more magical moments with Sager and Spurs coach Gregg Poppovich.
For those interested in learning more and donating to cancer research, they can go here. Another cool thing that has popped up recently is this awesome pin below featuring Sager and Pop with proceeds from the sales going to cancer research as well.

Notably a GS exclusive, the newly-introduced runner is punctuated by its multicolor woven upper that takes cues from thermal imagery. Bright tones such as red, yellow, green, orange and blue envelop its entirety, which essentially infrared radiation depicted into an electronic image.
To further complement its palette, black is applied on the midsole piping, tongue, laces and inner lining, while additional hits of orange is utilized for its signature visible air sole unit.
You can purchase this latest variation at select Nike retailers worldwide now.
The inspiration and theme has been well executed. It should have been a general release in my opinion. It’s still versatile enough for all genders though.

I’m a fan of the model’s design. The colorway on this pair is nicely done. I can see it being versatile for males and females but large sizes will obviously be limited.

I’ll never get tired of this silhouette. Years ago, I would be crazy over these, but I’m over this colorway. I appreciate it a lot though. These should garner a lot of attention, either by fans or pedestrians alike.

Did anyone pick up the St. Patricks’ Day colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 High OG that released a couple of weeks ago? If you didn’t I don’t blame you cause I’m not too big on green sneakers either.
Nike will continue the trend of releasing different colorways of the OG-inspired Nike Air Force 1 with this black and Sail option that you see above. However, there’s one big difference about this colorway compared to all the previous releases we’ve seen. Instead of using the premium leather upper that we’ve seen on all the previous pairs, this Air Force 1 opts for a canvas upper. The only hits of leather come on the Swoosh branding. The strap also features Nike branding, something else that we haven’t seen on previous pairs.
What are your thoughts on Nike using canvas instead of leather on this pair? Is it a good choice? Chime in with your opinion down in the comments.
I’m not against canvas but I’m a bigger fan of leather because of how much more comfortable it is. It’s also easier to clean leather.. This new black canvas option is nice but I wouldn’t cop.

Official images of the latest variation of the Nike KD 8 are revealed. Dubbed, “Sabertooth Tiger,” the moniker essentially takes cues from Durant’s infamous tattoo of the legendary cat, which is situated above his right ankle.
Evoking the predator’s ferocity through his style of play, the sneaker inherits the palette as well with a vivid upper that is shaded in Vivid Orange/Laser Orange-Black and Light Brown. Gold-like embroidered Swooshes complement the theme as well.
Nicely offset by an off-white sole unit, the component receives additional orange accents on the midsole to further pronounce its design. Retailing for $180, you can purchase this forthcoming pair at Nike retailers on March 31st.
A Bleached Lilac Nike Air Huarache Ultra For The Ladies
By SoleInsider
There’s a new colorway of the Nike Air Huarache Ultra releasing soon and this one was designed exclusively for the #ChicksOnFire.
A lot of the Nike Air Huarache hybrid models that have released have not been received with open arms, but the Air Huarache Ultra is one of the few that has. This hybrid model of the classic Tinker Hatfield design was introduced in late 2015 and features Flywire technology to keep the mid-foot locked down as well as bigger branding on the heel, and a few other minor changes. The most important thing is that it looks very similar to the original which many people love. This new colorway features a Bleached Lilac upper with Hyper Violet accents for a subtle feminine look. A white midsole and Dynamic Flywire complete the look on this new colorway.
The ladies can look for this colorway of the Nike Air Huarache Ultra at select Nike retailers this Spring.
I’m definitely a fan of this new hybrid Huarache because I love the original. However for obvious reasons I wouldn’t wear this colorway. I’m sure plenty of ladies will dig it though.
