Up Close With The Air Jordan 6 Gold
By SoleInsider
This Holiday 2016 season, Jordan Brand will release a number of special edition options that will be coveted enough to be wrapped under your Christmas tree. While the Space Jam 11s will undoubtedly be one of the most sought after releases of the year, you can’t forget about the premium style of Air Jordan 6 “Pinnacle” in Metallic Gold.
There’s still no release date yet for the Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle “Metallic Gold”, but you can expect the patent leather gem to arrive at retailers this December. Today we get an up-close and personal look at the first Pinnacle rendition of the Air Jordan 6 courtesy of Marqueesole. The simple yet flashy colorway pairs a Metallic Gold patent leather upper with an all white midsole and outsole unit to truly focus on the reflective qualities of the textile used throughout. An icy bottom adds gold speckling to match while a white tongue and heel keeps thing simple.
The Jordan 6 Pinnacle will be up for grabs at a premium price of $250 USD. Be sure to check out some of the best teaser shots below and stay tuned for more Jordan Release Dates right here on Sneaker News.

Get A Closer Look At The Upcoming Air Jordan 5 Olympic
By SoleInsider
We are only a few days away from the debut of a new colorway of the Air Jordan 5 that is sure to turn some heads this Summer.
This Air Jordan 5 is inspired by the gold hardware that is earned at the Summer Olympic Games and takes on a premium White leather upper with contrasting Black accents appearing on the midsole, inner liner, and the upper eyelets. The defining feature of this Air Jordan 5 is the use of Metallic Gold that covers the tongue, lace lock, and the signature shark teeth on the midsole.
You can pick up your pair on August 20, 2016 for $190. Full family sizing will also be available for anyone that is interested. Click and bookmark our official Air Jordan 5 Olympic (Gold Medal) launch page now for more images, details and release info.
If the gold used on the tongue didn?t have the glossy/patent leather look I would have definitely copped these. It?s still a nice shoe but I?m not a fan of the metallic looking tongue.
New Look At The Air Jordan 3 True Blue For Black Friday
By SoleInsider
We’re only about three months away from Black Friday which means the return of the Air Jordan 3 True Blue with the beloved Nike Air branding on the heel.
Black Friday of 2016 will be huge as not only will we be seeing the Air Jordan 3 after hiding away for two years, but it will return in the OG True Blue colorway that many people know and love. In order to make things even more special Jordan Brand decided to bring back the OG colorway the same way that it released back in 1988, with Nike Air branding on the heel. Are you excited to pick up a pair come November 25th? Retail price will be $220 at the moment so make sure you start saving up.
If this was the Black Cement or White Cement colorways then I would have picked up a pair, no questions asked. I’m just not the biggest fan of the True Blue colorway so I may have to pass on them.
This Deep Royal Blue Air Jordan 12 Will Release In The Fall
By SoleInsider
When all is said and done the Air Jordan 12 will easily be recognized as the biggest Jordan Brand silhouette of 2016. With tons of pairs already having released this year, the Jumpman still has a few more colorways to give us before they wrap things up.
Seen above is a colorway that will be making its debut this Fall. This new Deep Royal Blue Air Jordan 12 features a bright blue suede upper with White and Metallic Silver accents on the branding on the tongue and heel. Textured leather on the mudguard adds some contrast to the look. A matching blue rubber outsole finishes off the look on this Air Jordan 12 that is currently expected to release on November 12, 2016 for a retail price of $190. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates.

Author’s Take
Reminds me of the Just Don Air Jordan 2s that released last year. I’m a fan of the Air Jordan 12, but this shoe just has too much blue for my liking.
Yo! Can you believe it?! The Air Jordan 1 High OG Bred is less than three weeks away! One of the most highly anticipated Air Jordans of the year is getting ready to release, are you going to get a pair? Better question is, how many pairs are you going after?Considered one of the best Jordans ever, Jordan Brand has decided to bring back the Air Jordan 1 Bred and give it the remastered treatment.
The high-top comes in the classic Black and Red upper done in a premium leather construction. While I’ve yet to see the shoe in person, most of the images provided show the shoe to be of similar quality to the instant-classic Shattered Backboards that released last year. Another reason many of us are going crazy over the shoe is for the simple fact that it comes with Nike branding on the tongue, thus making it a “OG” retro. A White midsole and Red outsole round on the look of the shoe. Releasing on September 3rd for $160, is this a must-cop in your opinion? Check out our Air Jordan 1 High OG Bred (2016) hub page for more info and images regarding this upcoming release.
A Flair For The Gold: Top 10 Golden Air Jordan Kicks
By SoleInsider
Gold Air Jordans have become all the rage lately. While the precious color has been used sparingly over the years, Jordan Brand has recently been hit with the fever, sending out exclusives to celebrities and athletes that are seemingly dipped in gold. Whether they have a shiny metallic finish like the ones Usher wears on stage or a slightly more nuanced look like the famous displays found in Hong Kong or the Trophy Room Store in Orlando, it’s hard to miss a pair of Js when they have the winning touch.
Even though we are more than a few years away from Jordan Brand’s true Golden Anniversary, there has been a number of golden Js making their way to retail this year, including the release of the Air Jordan 5 Olympic, the Air Jordan 11 Low Metallic Gold and the Air Jordan 6 Pinnacle Gold over the next few weeks. As we wait with eager anticipation for those gems to drop, here is a look back at our picks for the top 10 Golden Air Jordans to drop so far. We’ve excluded the exclusives worn by Usher and Ray Allen because let’s be honest, that’s just not fair…
Air Jordan 19 SE Black Metallic Gold
Kixify
Whenever I hear “SE” attached to an Air Jordan, I usually think it’s Jordan Brand saying, “hey, we maybe messed up on the original design so here’s a stripped down version that’s usually better.” I’ve grown to appreciate the Air Jordan 19 over the years but the Air Jordan 19 SE is still a superior look. Create a black and metallic gold that Chris Paul wore during his Wake Forest days and you’ve got a winner.
Air Jordan 2 Quai 54
Nike
Anytime you can make the Air Jordan 2 look good, you should get a medal. Actually, the color team responsible for this Quai 54 rarity that dropped just a few weeks ago deserves multiple medals for this beauty. To the untrained eye, the shoe could be mistaken for a true luxury pair on the same level as a Balenciaga or a Buscemi. Some would even argue this is the best Air Jordan 2 colorway ever. And by some, I mean me…
Nike
Air Jordan Golden Moments Pack
Flight Club
Released back in the summer of 2012, this was a highly anticipated Air Jordan pack with Olympic ties. Featuring an Air Jordan 6 and 7 with gold accents, it should be an easy candidate for the top spot. However, it would be ranked higher if not for all the noise – both valid and illegitimate – about the poor quality of the sneakers. It might not have been the tipping point that led to Jordan Brand spearheading the remastered initiative, but the talk was louder than most for sure.
Air Jordan 8 Trophy
Nike
2016 was the year Jordan Brand discovered they could almost all of their retros look good by adding gold to them. It’s the little things that make this particular Air Jordan 8 the far superior of the two found in this year’s Championship Celebration pack. This Trophy colorway get its name from the Larry O’Brien Trophy given to the NBA Champions every year, but the most notable feature are the fingerprints found on the shoe’s gold accents, accentuating the mark MJ has made on trophy. Normally we’d be the first one to get out the cleaning wipes to get those fingerprints off something as shiny and pristine as a trophy, but this is a case where it makes the shoe’s design all the more personal. If only it didn’t retail for $250 though…
Air Jordan XX3 Trophy Room
Trophy Room
Another 2016 release makes the list in the form of the Air Jordan XX3 Trophy Room. We’ve seen the Air Jordan XX3 slowly make its way back to prominence with a limited number of retro releases, including these two that highlighted the opening of Marcus Jordan’s Trophy Room store in Orlando earlier this year. Salute to you if you are one of the few who were fortunate enough to snag both pairs as one was only available in-store in very limited quantities while the was through Nike.com and that was no easy task either.
Nike
Air Jordan 12 Wings
Nike
Are they better with or without the rub-off “Wings” graphic? It’s a moot point now, but what we can’t deny is that this is one of the best Air Jordans of 2016 (and my personal favorite of the year so far even though I didn’t get a pair). Yes, they simply remixed the Air Jordan 12 Playoffs and replaced whatever was grey or silver and turned it gold, but that’s kind of the point. To quote one of our writers “I’m biased towards this pair.”
Nike
Air Jordan 9 Premio BIN 23
Flight Club
An earlier take on using premium materials on Air Jordans, the Premio BIN 23 series was well-received for their luxurious takes and – at the time – groundbreaking aesthetics. The Air Jordan 9 BIN23 released in 2010 and dropped in such limited quantities that finding a pair is no easy task; and if you do find one in your size that’s even available, it can set you back a few thousand dollars. Premio indeed…
Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black Gold
Nike
The actual 1985 OG Air Jordan 1 Black and Metallic Gold is so rare that it’s practically a myth. It was followed up by a all-patent leather release in 2003 that didn’t really evoke memories of the original but was nevertheless a hit among sneakerheads. In 2013, we were treated to a black and gold Air Jordan 1 that seemingly took qualities from both the 1985 and 2003 releases and combined them with a gum sole, resulting in one of the most sought after retros of that year.
Air Jordan 7 Olympic
Nike
No, this is not the 2016 Olympic Alternate that just recently dropped at retail and is still available as of this post. This is the original that Michael Jordan wore during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and is one of the most iconic Air Jordans ever made. The hints of gold on the Jumpman and midsole are subtle but they show a level of creativity and variety that crazily enough didn’t get used a whole lot on this list. In fact, the top spot actually follows the same blueprint as the Air Jordan 12 Wings.
Air Jordan Defining Moments Pack
Flight ClubFlight Club
So how do you make the Air Jordan 11 Concord and Air Jordan 6 Infrared, only two of most memorable and historically significant Air Jordans ever made, and make them better? Just add gold. The result is the most desirable Air Jordan Pack ever made.
Our First Look At The Jordan Super.Fly 5 Team Pack
By SoleInsider
More and more colorways of the brand new Jordan Super.Fly 5 have began to leak over these past couple of weeks. The latest colorways to do so make up the Jordan Super.Fly 5 Team Pack. Coming in four different tonal offerings, let’s check out the model that will probably be worn by Blake Griffin most of this upcoming NBA season.
Said to be uniform-inspired, the Super.Fly 5 will come in your choice of Black, Game Royal, Gym Red or Midnight Navy. The tonal uppers are all offset by the hits of White that take care of the branding located on the tongue and ankle. Below you will find a White rubber sole and a speckled gradient fade on the midsole. Available now at select retailers, pick up either of the four colorways you see above for the retail price of $140.
It’s pretty minimal looking for the most part, but that’s expected from this model nowadays. I like the Jordan Super.Fly, I’d just rather pick them up once it goes down in price a bit.
The Air Jordan 5 Olympic Will Be Available In Full Family Sizing
By SoleInsider
With the 2016 Summer Olympics concluding this Sunday, August 21st, special rendition of the Air Jordan 5 will be offered just a day before the closing ceremony to celebrate the global sporting event.
Evoking first-place vibes and the spirit of champions, the defining element is focalized on its tongue, lace lock and shark tooth-inspired component across the midsole unit. White comprises the leather upper, while contrasting black accents for the midsole unit and inner lining, and an icy translucent outsole finishes off its profile.
Adult sizes will go for $190, while GS (3.5Y ? 7Y), PS (11c ? 3Y) and TD (2c ? 10c) sizes are listed at $140, $80 and $60, respectively.
You can find it all at select JB and Nike stockists starting this Saturday, August 20th.
The next colorway of the Air Jordan 5 GS will be making its arrival very soon, as new images of this Wolf Grey pair are featured.
Simply covering its premium leather upper, the component also inherits a slight sheen to it for more lifestyle appeal. Contrasting accents of black adorn the laces, tongue, inner lining and midsole unit, while distinguishable elements consists of the signature netting on the side panels in a translucent finish.
Rounded out with an icy outsole, more silver speckling adorn the midsole, as well as on the shark teeth-inspired component.
Retailing for $140, you can purchase this pair at select JB and Nike stockists starting Saturday, August 20th.
I?m a fan of the silhouette overall and this colorway is a cool option for the young ones. I?m not that interested, but the finish is versatile and appealing.
Jordan Brand’s Fall/Winter 2016 release slate just got more interesting thanks to the introduction of the Air Jordan 12 “Wool”, a pair that takes the iconic style of Mike’s twelfth signature silhouette and makes it a little more autumn friendly thanks to a bolstered wool upper.
The Air Jordan 12 has been on a roll throughout the entire year thanks to original colorways like the Flu Game and French Blue being revisited in remastered form. While that’s been great news for traditionalists, Jordan Brand has also given us plenty of new ideas too, and on October 1st, the Jordan 12 Wool will showcase the brand’s newfound lifestyle sensibilities to the fullest. A monochromatic Dark Grey upper pairs simple Metallic Silver accents for a timeless aesthetic perfect for the colder seasons ahead.
What do you think of the Jordan 12 Wool? Be sure to check out a detailed preview below and know that this pair will arrive at retailers on October 1st, 2016 for $190 USD. Head over to our Jordan release dates page for more updates.
Cheer On Team USA With The Air Jordan 5 Olympic That Drops This Weekend
By SoleInsider
The men’s Team USA Basketball team will be attempting to capture the gold medal in Rio this week and what better way to celebrate (what we hope will be) a 1st place finish than by releasing a new Olympic-inspired retro.
Jordan Brand will be dropping a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 5 this Saturday that takes inspiration from the gold medal that every athlete in the Olympics strives for. This Air Jordan 5 starts off with a premium White leather upper while contrasting Black accents cover the midsole, inner liner, and the upper eyelets. The defining feature of this Air Jordan 5 is the use of Metallic Gold that covers the tongue, lace lock, and the signature shark teeth on the midsole. Will this be a must-cop for you come August 20th? Retail price will be $190.
If the gold used on the tongue didn’t have the glossy/patent leather look I would have definitely copped these. It’s still a nice shoe but I’m not a fan of the metallic looking tongue.

These new images make the shoe look real nice. I wasn’t a fan when I saw the first pictures of this Air Jordan 12 but now I am. I may seriously consider buying these.
Shane McMahon Obsesses Over Air Jordan 1s, But Isnt A Fan Of Yeezys
By SoleInsider
Shane McMahons’ ceremonious return to the WWE back in February was emphasized thanks to a sick rotation of Air Jordan footwear. Now the commissioner of WWE Smackdown Live, Shane-O-Mac has been known to wear Jordans throughout his active years, most notable being the True Blue 3s in his infamous off-the-top-rope elbow slams and his jigs down the ramp and in the ring. In the most recent segment of Sneaker Shopping with Complex, Shane joins Joe La Puma for a bout of sneaker history and shopping in Flight Club, and it’s no surprise that the WWE legend’s knowledge is simply unmatched when it comes to guests on this shoe. Peep the full episode ahead to see what went down.
