Dez Bryant Gives Us A Look At A Few Upcoming Air Jordan Releases
By SoleInsider
Dez Bryant decided to flex a couple of days before the NFL season kicks off for the Dallas Cowboys as the star wide receiver and Jordan Brand athlete posted the picture you see above of one of his latest Jordan Brand hauls.
Included in his latest shipment are past releases like the Air Jordan XXX Cosmos and Air Jordan 31 Brazil, as well as upcoming releases like the Air Jordan 12 Wool, Air Jordan 3 Cyber Monday, and the Air Jordan 1 Reverse Shattered Backboard that we took a first glimpse at yesterday. The pair that caught our eye the most though is the Air Jordan 1 Low OG Pinnacle in metallic silver that we’re looking at for the first time ever.
Which release are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for release updates.
Ladies, Did You Cop Or Pass On The Air Jordan 12 GS Plum Fog
By SoleInsider
Not only did the Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon arrive at retailers today, alongside it was this women’s colorway of the Air Jordan 12 known as the Plum Fog pair.
Part of the Jordan Brand Heiress Collection for the women, this Air Jordan 12 comes dressed in a premium tumbled leather all throughout the upper done in Light Bone with Plum Fog accents placed on the midsole, outsole, inner liner, heel, and the branding that runs down the tongue. Metallic Gold eyelets add a nice pop to this colorway that hit retailers today in extended sizes for $160. Did you cop or pass?
Did You Pick Up The Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon Today
By SoleInsider
Saturday morning finally came and along with it brought the release of the Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon.
For the first time ever, nylon was placed on the Air Jordan 12 as the material covers the majority of the upper on this particular colorway. Black leather accents have then been added on the mudguard for a lifestyle touch. Finally we have Gym Red on the Jumpman branding and a White midsole/outsole.
The Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon released today in full family sizing with the men’s pairs starting at $190. Did you add these to your collection or did you pass on them? Let us know of your decision and why in the comments below.
Following its official reveal, yet more detailed imagery of the Air Jordan 4 Premium in Obsidian are showcased, this time placing an emphasis on the sneaker’s overall construction and notable elements.
As implied, this variation of the iconic silhouette flaunts luxurious lifestyle appeal with varying quilted leather across its upper. Accents of copper are seen on the eyelets, studded detailing on the heel and special jumpman hangtag to pronounce its subdued makeup, while also complementing the overall palette perfectly. Finally, a clean white rubber sole unit that?s equipped with the signature air bubble component in the heel finishes off the design.
Retailing for $400, you can purchase this limited edition pair at select JB and Nike retailers beginning Saturday, September 17.
Click and bookmark our official Air Jordan 4 Premium Obsidian launch page now for more images, info and release details.
I like this pair a bit more than the recent release with pony hair due to the model?s overall makeup and colorway. I just like the utilization of various leather detailing and its tonal finish. Like everyone else, I?m just against that price tag.
The next colorway of the Air Jordan 5 GS will be offered in a Toronto Raptors-inspired theme, following a recent subdued variation of wolf grey.
Flaunting a nubuck construction draped in black, the stealthy hue is complemented with pops of bright red and purple adorning the full-length rubber sole unit, inner lining, jumpman branding prominent on the tongue and on the heel. Finally, translucent lace locks and outsoles finish off the sneaker?s overall makeup.
Retaining for a price tag of $140, you can purchase this pair at JB and Nike retailers starting Saturday, September 17th.
Jordan Brand Kicks Off The NFL Season With Air Jordan 9 Football Cleats
By SoleInsider
Earlier this year, the Air Jordan 9 silhouette received a new variation that’s specifically built for the golf course. Although, since the early 2000s, Air Jordan silhouettes in particular, have had a strong presence on the gridiron.
This weekend, Jordan Brand has unveiled the next iteration of the model with player-exclusive cleats that is perfectly suited for the football field.
Each cleat is designed in the athlete?s preferred mid or low-cut style and features team-inspired color schemes, personalized tongue embroidery, a Dynamic Fit inner bootie and a single-pull lacing system.
Additionally, the label also welcomes Golden Tate, world-champion and Pro Bowl wide receiver, Thomas Davis, Pro Bowler and elite outside linebacker, and Jordan Reed, a dynamic tight end. JB rookies, Jalen Ramsey and Corey Coleman, will also take the professional field for the first time this Sunday.
The design of the silhouette looks like a perfect match with cleats. I like how it’s more streamlined too and in general, the entire line is pretty solid.
Clash Of The Kicks: Yeezy Cleats Jumped Over The Jordan Cleats (On Twitter)
By SoleInsider
Who knew that the NFL season opener between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers would serve as a battleground between adidas and Jordan Brand? Both the three stripes and the Jumpman had something special for their athletes that were competing on Thursday night but one clearly overshadowed the other and it wasn’t even close.
For the past several years now, adidas has built up their football game through grassroots marketing and celebrity endorsements, even going so far as to call the movement “cleathead culture.” Meanwhile, Jordan Brand has been making their mark on the gridiron with their solid cast of NFL stars, retros on the field and most recently, becoming the official outfitter of Michigan. Sure, it will always be a little weird to see a Jumpman logo on a Michigan jersey, but then again, we had the same hang-ups when baseball players, golfers and NASCAR drivers had the same logo and now it’s as a normal part of a uniform as the three stripes or the swoosh.
As you might might expect on NFL Opening Night, when attention on football is near its peak (surpassed only by the Super Bowl) and the TV and social media ratings are expected to be massive, adidas and Jordan Brand had to do something to make an impact and get the people talking. We knew the Jumpman was going to unleash a new set of retro cleats and sure enough, they introduced know what their athletes – from Dez Bryant to Joe Haden and more – were going to be wearing this season via a tweet and Nike press release…
A thousand retweets and over two thousand likes nearly 24 hours later. Not bad for Jordan Brand, right? It gets the sneakerheads and the blogs talking about how fire they look and how they wish they didn’t have cleats so they could get a shot at wearing them. Carolina’s Thomas Davis would be first up with his black and blue PE pair on display last night. It’s a nice show of their dominance and hold on the sneaker world. You know, if only Kanye West hadn’t gotten involved…
Earlier in the day, adidas took their shot and broke Sneaker Twitter by sending reigning Super Bowl MVP Von Miller a pair of Yeezys. That’s to be expected nowadays, though. Almost everybody at Team adidas is gifted a pair of Yeezys like it’s a rite of passage or something. But this was a little different because Miller’s pair is no ordinary Yeezy. This 750 had cleats and it’s not a custom either…
Huh, almost 17.5k retweets and nearly 23k in likes. That’s a lot no matter how you break down those numbers and to make it even more of a shocker, Miller’s follower count is less than 10% of Jordan Brand’s. Miller wore the Yeezys during warm-ups, it was posted on Snapchat and his Broncos won the game. Mission accomplished…
Now if you’re a curmudgeon who steadfastly believes that retweets and likes don’t matter or that this was a fluke, take a look at the response to DeAndre Hopkins and Adrian Peterson when they posted their 350 Cleats on Twitter today. So if you’re keeping score, that’s an All-Pro linebacker, a young rising star wideout and one of the greatest running backs of all time. All we need now is a quarterback and we’ve got a squad. Anybody check Aaron Rodger’s Twitter to see what he’s up to?
If Kanye is serious about turning the Yeezy brand into his own personal Ralph Lauren and making them available for everybody by opening stores all across the country, this kind of excitement for his brand in the sports world has to be encouraging. Will Yeezy products geared towards actual athletic pursuits be as well-received when they’re easily attainable at his stores? Personally I can’t wait to find out and to see if these “little things” will light a fire under the current leaders of the pack.

Dez Bryant once again flexes the perks of being one of Jordan Brand’s marquee athletes. Get a look at his full haul just ahead.

Releasing in extended GS sizes, this Air Jordan 12 features a premium tumbled leather all throughout the upper done in Light Bone with Plum Fog accents placed on the midsole, outsole, inner liner, heel, and the branding that runs down the tongue. Dropping Tomorrow, Will The Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon Be A Hit Or Miss
By SoleInsider
Jordan Brand will be breaking the mold tomorrow when it comes to the Air Jordan 12 as they’ll be releasing the silhouette with a brand new material.
Since Fall is right around the corner, JB decided to give the Air Jordan 12 a twist by covering it with a Black durable nylon material throughout the majority of the upper. Additional Black leather accents have then been added on the medial and lateral mudguards while a White outsole and Gym Red Jumpman on the tongue serve as the points of contrast.
Releasing for the entire family tomorrow, September 10th, is this a cop or drop for you? Click and bookmark our official Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon (Neoprene) launch page now for more images, info and release details.
I have no problems with the new material on the upper, I actually think it?s a good thing that Jordan Brand is experimenting with new looks. What I don?t like is the colorway. Did we really need another black Air Jordan 12??
Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 12 Black Nylon, Mambacurials, More NMDs
By SoleInsider
You know the Fall season is almost here when you hear the words “waterproof” and “winter” and “wool” being thrown around, but what’s a little surprising is that they’re being mentioned in the context of sneakers. In this week’s edition of Buy, Pass, Wait, where the Kicks On Fire staff convenes to talk about the weekend’s big releases and beyond, we’ve got the obligatory chatter about the weekly Air Jordan retro to drop, but then we switch it up to talk about which Mambacurial Kobe we would go for, the appeal of the blackout style in a popular adidas trainer and much more.
Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (PASS) If I had to choose between these and the Master 12s, I would give this slight edge because it of the different materials used and the “Jumpman” tab is black and fits the shoe the better. But because I already have the Master and I just can’t justify buying ostensibly the same colorway so soon again along with the flood of other 12s this year, it’s not in the cards for me.
Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) That colorway is an instant classic and versatile for everyday wear. Plus, the new construction is water resistant and should be a bit more lightweight. It’s a pretty functional and durable pair so you can’t go wrong with it.
Juan Carrillo, News: (PASS) Not in love with the nylon/neoprene upper. The colorway resembles the look of pre-existing Jordan 12 models. While I do appreciate the creativity behind the new construction, they should have at least made in in a colorway we’ve never seen before.
Andres Carrillo, News: (PASS) I like the idea of Jordan Brand experimenting with new materials on the 12, but why did they have to make it black? The shoe looks decent, but just not for me.
adidas AlphaBOUNCE Blackout
adidas
EIC Juan: (BUY) Any alphaBOUNCE is an instant purchase and this is no different. For a hundred bucks, this is among the best values in sneakers at the moment and a blackout pair is perfect for those looking for a solid trainer.
Renz: (BUY) I like the design of the silhouette and I’m pretty biased towards runners, especially in all-black finishes. I would’ve preferred the patterned detailing to be blacked-out as well.
News Juan: (PASS) I’ve yet to try on a pair of these, but I know that eventually I will. I also know that if I were to ever own a pair, it would probably have some color to it. It looks cool, I just like more color on my sneakers (for the most part).
Andres: (PASS) The only colorway of the AlphaBOUNCE that I’ve liked is the first pair that had a print on the upper. Other than that I just don’t care much for the shoe.
Nike Kyrie 2 Australia
Nike
EIC Juan: (PASS) I like the Kyrie 2, but I don’t have an overwhelming desire to get every Kyrie colorway. I was satisfied when I copped the Parade colorway and now we’re just waiting for the Kyrie 3…
Renz: (PASS) This silhouette has been releasing in pretty solid colorways as of late. Years ago I would have been really into this colorway, but not right now. It’s still a nice offering nonetheless.
News Juan: (WAIT) Definitely one of the better looking colorways on the Kyrie 2 (only because I love yellow sneakers). You really can’t go wrong with the Yellow and Black sneaker in my opinion. Don’t own a pair of Kyries, but if these go on sale to around $80, you can bet I’ll be on them!
Andres: (WAIT) I was disappointed when the “School Bus” colorway released only in GS sizes since I’m a fan of yellow/black shoes, but this pair is even better. If these fall to around $100 I may consider buying a pair.
Nike Kobe 11 Mambacurial (Elite Flyknit or EM?)
EIC Juan: Mambacurial EM
Nike
The Nike Kobe 8 is one of my favorite sneakers of all the times and the Mambacurial colorway is high on my wishlist. I was happy to grab the sequel with the Kobe 10 edition and my hope is that this will not be a hassle to grab. I don’t consider the Elite Flyknit 11 a Mambacurial at all because that’s more of a homage to FC Barcelona than the Mercurial boots that the original was based from.
Renz: Mambacurial Elite Flyknit
Nike
I’m a fan of the soccer club and the silhouette/colorway is just a winner for me. One of the nicest iterations of the silhouette this season.
News Juan: Mambacurial Elite Flyknit
Nike
10 out of 10 times if you’re giving me the option to choose between Flyknit or Engineered Mesh, I’m going with Flyknit. Plus, the Elite version looks so much better than the EM version. I won’t buy for retail, but if they go down closer to $100, I’d definitely consider.
Andres: Mambacurial EM
Nike
When I think of the “Mambacurial” colorway I think of the pink and green look. The blue/red pair that released this week looked nice, but not worth $220 in my opinion. My favorite of the two is the pink/green colorway, but it should have been Flyknit.
adidas NMD Winter Wool (City Sock or R1)
EIC Juan: NMD_R1
adidas
The City Sock is great and I can’t wait to finally un-DS mine and really, the last thing I need and I feel like the world needs is another black Primeknit NMD, but man, I love to be proven wrong and when I saw these in person a few days ago, I had to eat some crow.
Andres: NMD_R1
adidas
News Juan: NMD_R1
adidas
Not a fan of the City Sock model at all, so by default I have to go with the NMD R1. adidas constructing both models to make them more suitable for the Winter was a great idea. I hope to see more of the same in the near future.
Andres: NMD_R1
adidas
I’ve yet to pick up a pair of NMDs and neither one of these really caught my attention. If I had to pick one though it would be the NMD_R1. Clean colorway that can be matched up with anything.
The Next $400 Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium Release Is A Week Away
By SoleInsider
Jordan Brand’s retro offerings have transcended basketball to be some of the most sought after lifestyle offerings in the sneaker industry today. After announcing the Pinnacle Collection, a premium lifestyle take on the iconic Air Jordan 1 featuring actual 24K gold accents throughout, this year the Jumpman has focused on the Air Jordan 4. This Air Jordan 4 Premium “Obsidian” will release next Saturday, September 17th featuring a luxurious quilted navy upper. The leather used even extends to the interior for a truly monochromatic finish while a Metallic Bronze hits the lace eyelets and heel to further the premium sensibilities.
While the Jordan 4 has taken a backseat to other retros in recent years, we did still get the Air Jordan 4 “White/Cement” retro not too long ago followed by a bevy of other Pinnacle offerings that saw Pony Hair and Snakeskin textiles redefine Michael Jordan’s fourth signature. The upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Wheat” while limted to only 9,000 pairs takes that whole Hender Scheme aesthetic and rightfully steals it back. How does the Air Jordan 4 Premium “Obsidian” match up to those releases? At $400 USD it isn’t too hard to see where this release gets its price point from with the Remastered quilted leather upper, waxed laces, and metallic bronze accents. But is it a price that you’re willing to pay?
If you can’t wait for this premium Jordan retro to arrive at retailers next Saturday, be sure to check out eBay.
Jordan Brand Kicks Off The NFL Season With New Air Jordan 9 PEs
By SoleInsider
While the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers gave us an opening game for the ages last night, the NFL’s Week 1 festivities will kick off this Sunday, September 11th to welcome the true start of the Fall 2016 season. Jordan Brand is taking advantage of the football-themed momentum with a number of awesome Air Jordan 9 PE Cleats for their select athletes. From the images here, we spot SMUs for Dez Bryant, Earl Thomas, Joe Haden, Andre Johnson, Alshon Jeffrey, Michael Crabtree, Golden Tate, Corey Coleman, Jalen Ramsey, Thomas Davis, Dwight Freeney, and Jordan Reed. Which pair is your favorite? Let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned for more Jordan Brand updates right here on Sneaker News.
This weekend marks the first signs of Jordan Brand’s Fall 2016 release slate thanks to a weather-resistant Air Jordan 12 arriving at retailers. The move to bolster one of the many fan-favorite Jordan retros with a new neoprene construction will prove to be a smart one given the worries of getting your retro Jumpman pick-up dirty in the rain and slush that comes with the months ahead. The Air Jordan 12 “Neoprene” will be available at select shops on Saturday, September 10th for $190.
The Jordan 12 Neoprene ditches the usual bolstered leather construction found on the original pairs from 1997 for a durable neoprene upper paired with a leather mudguard. The all black colorway uses a clean white midsole to match the Gym Red accents on the branding throughout for a decidedly Chicagoan feel. Check out one last detailed look courtesy of Sneaker Politics after the break, and if you can’t wait for Saturday, then secure your size right now on eBay.
Jordan Brand released a new clip today showcasing Kawhi Leonard wearing the upcoming Air Jordan 31 Fine Print that is scheduled to release next week. But toward the end of the clip is where things get really interesting.
The video quickly shows the OG Black/White Air Jordan 1 and then quickly switches to the Air Jordan 1. Perhaps it’s to show that the 31 is inspired by the 1? Or maybe it’s because this colorway of the Air Jordan 1 will be making a comeback some time in the near future. Of course Jordan Brand hasn’t announced any type of news regarding this colorway of the Air Jordan 1 just yet, but more information should be dropping soon. Here is the clip.
