Michigan Plays In Practice Uniforms And Jordan PEs After Plane Scare

mighigan-wolverines-plane-scare-jordan-pes

The Michigan Wolverines had a bit of a travel scare on their way to the Big Ten Conference Tournament in Washington D.C. yesterday. The team’s plane slid off of the runway causing travel complications and despite this, Big Blue didn’t want to push their game back earlier today – they were that ready to play. There was a bit of a uniform snafu though, as the Wolverines had to settle for wearing their practice jerseys against the Fighting Illini during today’s game because they couldn’t access their regular threads in the damaged aircraft. That didn’t stop the squad from lacing up their best Michigan Jordan PEs as a number of players showed off the Air Jordan 31 “Coaches vs. Cancer” PE from earlier in the season and others opted for the recently released Air Jordan 31 Low “Michigan”. But highlighting the bunch was the best look yet at the Air Jordan 13 Low Michigan. Check out some of the Wolverine’s best selections to match their practice gear and know the story should have a happy ending – they’re currently up 11 with just 5 minutes to go in the game.

Official Images Of The KAWS x Air Jordan 4

Over the past week or so, the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 was leaked and a bunch of new imagery of the highly anticipated collab began to surface soon thereafter. Now with the release date of the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 surfacing, Jordan Brand has released the shoe’s official images.

The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 opts for a tonal Cool Grey upper as a combination of smooth and hairy suede takes care of the majority of the shoe. If you take a closer look at the upper you will see the KAWS Companion character placed all over the base by way of the embroidery print. That same print can also be found on the custom insoles. Additional features on the shoe include the embossed Jumpman on the tongue, the dual branding on the heel and the glow in the dark outsole housing the KAWS Companion clapping hands. Priced at $350, expect this super limited drop to get a release date in the next couple of days. I wouldn’t doubt it if they drop later on this month.

Jordan Brand Wants The Air Jordan 4 To Be The Shoe Of Spring/Summer 2017

Here’s the detailed look at the KAWS Jordan 4 that we’ve all been waiting for. Jordan Brand released official photos of the Air Jordan 4 KAWS earlier this morning showcasing the luxurious collaboration between the legendary artist and one of the Jumpman’s most iconic retro model in its full glory. Priced at $350 USD, the shoe personifies the Jordan 4‘s status as a lifestyle icon through both smooth and hairy suedes throughout in a monochromatic Cool Grey shade. Hints of the KAWS Companion character are stitched in a subtle all over embroidery print to match the custom insoles. A glow in the dark outsole also features self-congratulatory clapping hands.

That’s not the only release of the Air Jordan 4 this year, though. We’ll also get three other colorways in some OG and new mock-ups which help the 1989 classic be billed as the Jumpman’s model of choice for the coming Spring/Summer 2017 season. It makes sense – the shoe first got its shine in Spike Lee’s classic Do The Right Thing and remains an icon to withstand the summer heat in style thanks to those classic Mars Blackmon ads too. Also included are photos of all of Jordan Brand’s upcoming Air Jordan 4 Collection featuring the return of the original Jordan 4 Motorsports colorway, this time missing Spike Lee’s stamp of approval (Release Date: March 25th); the Jordan 4 Pure Money and it’s clean all-white upper (Release Date: May 13th); and the alternate Jordan 4 Black Motorsports featuring an Orlando Magic-like array of Black, Royal, and Grey (Release Date: June 17th).

A lifestyle perspective of the exclusive KAWS x Air Jordan 4 is now unveiled, which is captured at the Stanton Street Courts in NYC that has been remodeled by KAWS.

Straying from his popular abstract and vibrant aesthetic, KAWS treats the iconic sneaker in a monochromatic finish of cool grey instead for a timeless look.

On-Feet Images Of The Air Jordan 12 Low Grey

Next week we’ll be seeing the release of another new colorway of the Air Jordan 12 Low. Following up the Playoff pair that closed out the month of February, up next is this Grey suede colorway.

Making its debut in 2017, this new colorway of the Jordan 12 Low has been given the tonal treatment as the shoe comes covered in Wolf Grey all throughout the upper which is composed of perforated suede with textured overlays on the mudguard. Obsidian and Varsity Maize detailing is then present on the branding which could be a subtle nod to the Michigan Wolverines? You can grab your pair beginning on March 18th for $170.

Tonal Suede Uppers Make Their Way To The Air Jordan 1 High GS

Up next for the Air Jordan 1 High silhouette are these two brand new colorways that have the model rock an all-suede upper done in your choice of Red or Grey. If you don’t rock GS sizes, it looks like you might be fresh out luck since these appear to be GS-exclusives.

The tonal look of the upper extends on to the branding (comes with Jumpman branding on the tongue), laces, lining and sole unit, resulting in a very monochromatic offering. The shoe appear to already be available internationally, which means that they’re probably going to arrive stateside within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned to find out when these bad boys get an official U.S. release date. Hot or not?

This Is The Closest Thing To An Air Jordan Retro Michigan PE

This is as close to a Michigan Jordan retro PE that we’ll get a chance to grab at retail, as this Jordan 12 Low featuring the Wolverine’s signature colors of Navy and Varsity Maize lands on the heel tab for a unique twist and will be available March 18th for $170 USD.

The Wolverines are one of the more recent teams to benefit from an updated Jumpman sponsorship. Their football squad was the first to ever debut the Jordan logo outside of the realm of basketball and was rewarded with some truly incredible Michigan Wolverines Air Jordan PEs featuring essentials like the Air Jordan 11 and Air Jordan 12. We won’t call this Air Jordan 12 Low release “Michigan” given the monochromatic grey suede hits throughout for a lifestyle twist, but it’s nice to see Jordan Brand mixing in some of its team elements for general releases.

What do you think of the Air Jordan 12 Low Grey Suede? Check out more detailed shots below and we’ll keep you updated on where to buy this coming retro release via our Air Jordan Release Dates page.

Jordan Brand Finally Releases A Red October Air Jordan 1

It finally happened. Jordan Brand is releasing an all-red Air Jordan 1 in a full suede upper. There’s no Nike Air on the tongue, but does it matter? The all-red sneaker still lives on in small pockets, and paired with one of the most coveted silhouettes of all-time, this Air Jordan 1 is sure to please. There’s a catch: the shoes are in kids sizes only, so good luck squeezing your feet into a pair. Jordan Brand is also dropping other tonal suede options of the Air Jordan 1, like the clean “Wolf Grey” that reminds us of the upcoming Kaws Jordan 4. Full detailed images are just ahead.

13 Going On XXX1: Which School Got The Best Air Jordan Low Player Exclusives

March Madness is almost here on the 3rd month of the year. In a total non-coincidence, Jordan Brand schools like North Carolina and Michigan received player exclusives of the Air Jordan 31 to wear on the court during their runs to the Final Four along with special editions of the Air Jordan 13. Looks like 3 (and 1 if you really think about it) is the magic number for these schools that represent the Jumpman in 2017.

For years now, North Carolina has been the beneficiary of having the hottest Jordan player exclusives, rivaling only Oregon – because Tinker Hatfield and Nike – for the most desired PEs in all the land. But longtime Jordan partners Marquette, Georgetown, and Cal are no slouches in that department and now Michigan is gaining ground on that front as well. Assuming all five teams make the NCAA tournament (both men’s and women’s teams will be rocking Js), this could be a memorable March Madness for Jordan Brand.

But not all player exclusives are created equal and we’re power ranking the five schools based on how memorable their respective Air Jordan Low kicks are heading into the Big Dance.

Just Happy To Make It To 64: Cal

The funny thing is that Cal was Michigan before Michigan became a Jordan Brand school. What I mean by that is that the we’ve seen blue and yellow on Jordans for quite some time now and they were always associated with the Golden Bears. But because the Wolverines are the new hotness, they get all the attention and the more exciting PEs. Not that sneakerheads wouldn’t trade their Olympic 5s that they found at the Nike Outlet Store for a pair of Cal 13 Lows, but it seems a little on the safe side.

Barely Surviving The First Weekend: Georgetown

You could make the argument that out all of the kicks featured here today, the 13 Low Georgetown is the one that would be a major hit at retail. The colors fit in line with what sneakerheads are looking for these days and if you squint hard enough, they could pass as Flint 13s to somebody who’s no paying attention. But just like Cal, their 31 counterpart isn’t exactly blowing anybody’s mind unless you have a Georgetown Starter Jacket from back in the days.

Sweet 16 Sleeper: Marquette

Jimmy Butler’s (and former Jordan Brand athlete Dwyane Wade) alma matter must surely be proud of their team and what they’ve accomplished through the years and netting a Jordan Brand deal is a perk so few schools have. The result are some of the most unique PEs out there, as evidenced by the 31 Low that features that Marquette logo in the back and 13 Low that features a special overlay that uses all of the school’s colors.

Final Four Bound: Michigan

Michigan getting Jordans is a little like when they had the Fab Five. Strong out of the gate, the team was always a threat to win the big one every year they were all together, but something would always come up that would prevent them from achieving their goal. In this case, both the Air Jordan XXX1 Low Michigan and the 13 Low PE are great, but just not enough to beat the eventual champs. It’s like 1993 all over again….

National Champs: North Carolina

When your list of alumni includes Michael Jordan, it’s going to be hard to beat them when it comes to sneakers. Between the history, the coolness of Carolina Blue, and how well the Air Jordan XXX1 Low and the 13 Low PE lends themselves well to the argyle style, no school is beating the Tar Heels. Except maybe some school out West should they decide to bring their heat to the dance…

The Jordan x Max Atmos Pack Releases On Air Max Day

The Jordan Max atmos Pack is releasing on March 26th, 2017 aka Air Max Day in very limited quantity. This Pack is acts as a reminder of atmos’ past Air Max 1 collaborations, with the Air Jordan 3 taking on the persona of the “Safari” colorway that originally released back in 2003. It features a black suede upper, Safari print on the toe and heel, a translucent outsole, and additional color accents that achieve the “Safari” look. The Air Max 1 is the same as 2007’s Elephant release, but with elephant print insoles and a Jumpman logo on the sole. Is this the must-have release of Air Max Day?
