KoF Live: When You See The Air Jordan 4 Motorsport A Month Before Release

Here’s a understatement if there ever was one: NBA All-Star Weekend is a blur. Between all the events and parties that goes on during the league’s most high-profile week, there’s a chance media members won’t remember exactly everything they did during those four days. Case in point, even though I was there for maybe 40% of the total time of the weekend, I had forgotten about (redacted) and (Oh God, I can never tell this story), not to mention (uh… moving along…) until I checked my phone a few days ago. Maybe try not to have too much fun, I guess.

Anyways, a story I can tell and probably won’t get me trouble was the early availability of the Air Jordan 4 Motorsport 2017 retro at Jordan Brand’s pop-up shop in New Orleans and my constant back and forth on whether I should buy it or not. I mean, it was right there for the taking. I even took a few GIFs of the kicks for the sake of our readers that weren’t posted until now.

Not that this should comes as a surprise, but Jordan Brand was one of the hottest spots to be at if you were looking for kicks that weekend. Alongside the All-Star collection, sneakerheads could also cop restocks of the Air Jordan 1 Top 3, Air Jordan 12 Deep Royal Blue, and the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 16 among others. The Air Jordan 4 Motorsport was one of the handful of sneakers that were available ahead of their general release and it was very tempting.

So what held me back from actually buying a pair? Well, it was a combination of space (I’m stuffing as many kicks I can in my bags and I was already full) and money (didn’t want to use some of my cash on a pair I can cop a few weeks later) that kept me from bringing them home. Unfortunately, I saved up my money for nothing because a pair I would have bought had I been at the shop on time, the exclusive Air Jordan 31 gold, was gone in mere minutes.

First Look: Air Jordan 2 Alumni

Get a first look at the Air Jordan 2 Alumni. So what’s this new colorway of the Air Jordan 2 all about and what’s up with the date on the heel? Well, this colorway of the Air Jordan 2 actually pays tribute to the North Carolina vs. UCLA Alumni game that took place on June 28th, 1987 (date on heel of shoe) at Pauley Pavilion.

During this point in time, Jordan had just completed his 3rd season in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls but still took time to represent his alma mater on the hardwood one more time. The Air Jordan 2 comes with a leather upper, dressed in a White, Black, Red and University Blue color scheme that represents both the Chicago Bulls and North Carolina Tar Heels. Most of the shoe comes in a Bulls theme, while the North Carolina vibes can be found on the heel region, which also house the ?MJ? and ?6/28/87? branding as a nod to the date the game was played.

No release info has been provided yet, but once these do end up dropping, are you looking to get a pair?

First Look: Air Jordan 1 Mid Metallic Silver

Judging by the placement of the lace holes, the shoe appears to be an Air Jordan 1 Mid. With that being said, here’s a first look at the Air Jordan 1 Mid Metallic Silver.

No word yet on when/if these will drop but I can already tell that the number one complaint on this shoe is going to be why they weren’t Highs. Regardless, it’s a dope color scheme on a Mid or High. A White leather takes care of the base, while the Metallic Silver hits can be found on the Nike Swoosh, Wings branding and ankle region. A White sole unit and White laces complete the look. Would you like to see these released even if they end up being Mid? Stay tuned as more info is sure to follow.

Upcoming Air Jordan 2 Remembers The Legendary UNC vs. UCLA Alumni Game

air-jordan-2-unc-ucla-alumni-game-1

March Madness is now down to just the Sweet 16, and both UNC and UCLA remain. The two historic college basketball franchises hang multiple banners in their rafters and have some of the most legendary alumni rosters the game of basketball can offer, but did you know that the two schools squared off in an alumni game featuring Michael Jordan back in 1987? Legendary coaches Dean Smith and John Wooden patrolled the sidelines for the charity event at Pauley Pavilion and a tight matchup went in favor of the Tar Heels thanks to the performance of a young Michael Jordan. You can even catch the entire game on Youtube.

Now Jordan Brand is honoring the off-season alumni game with a brand new Jordan 2 that bridges the gap between MJ’s first few seasons in the league and his time as a Tar Heel. The colorway features a white base, Chicago accents of black and red throughout, and a light blue heel panel in honor of his UNC ties. Now’s the perfect time to drop the Jordan 2 UNC Alumni given the current bracket positions, but we’ll keep you updated on an official drop date via our Jordan Release Dates page. Catch a first preview below and stay tuned for more right here on Sneaker News.

A Detailed Look At The Air Jordan 13/14 DMP Pack

Jordan Brand is always cooking up something special for NBA Finals season, as it’s the perfect time to remind everyone who the GOAT is even if a certain someone has a habit of making it to 6 straight Finals appearances and counting in the current league. This year, Jordan Brand will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mike and the Bulls’ 6th and final NBA Championship with the return of the Defining Moments Pack, as a special edition Jordan 13 and Jordan 14 in honor of the 97-98 title will release this June.

The Jordan 13 DMP features a ‘Home’ motif with premium white leather allowing for a metallic gold patent leather to truly steal the show. The holographic Jumpman branding replaces the ’23’ with a ’98’ while the inner tongue lining features some competitive banter reading ‘you can’t win until we quit’. Red Jumpman branding on the tongue adds a Chicago touch. You can read more about this pair here. That wasn’t the only pair that MJ wore during his final championship campaign, though, as the Jumpman rolled out the Jordan 14 during the playoffs and it was the silhouette that Mike was wearing during his famous ‘shot’ to clinch a deciding Game 6 win over the Jazz in Utah.

The ‘Away’ themed Jordan 14 DMP has a predominantly black leather upper allowing for the gold foil branding to truly shine on the Ferrari-inspired pendant and outsole shank. Alternate ’98’ branding also replaces the usual ’23’ PE insignia on the heel, but it’s basically camouflaged given the matching black shade. Only the slightest bit of red hits the heel and the XIV circle on the herringbone outsole.

Be sure to check out more detailed shots of the Jordan 13 DMP and Jordan 14 DMP, each slated to arrive at select retailers this June 2017. For more of the latest upcoming offerings from the Jumpman, be sure to head over to our Jordan Release Dates page.

The Air Jordan 1 Honors The Iconic Wings

air-jordan-1-wings-0

The Air Jordan 12 Wings will have a follow-up in spirit with this premium pre-aged patina-finished Jordan 1 complete with an homage to the famous Michael Jordan ‘Wings’ poster – you know the poster that most likely hung in your bedroom sometime during and throughout your middle to high school years complete with Mike’s outstretched almost life-sized wingspan.

The Jordan 1 Wings takes a different approach, but is just as premium as the Jordan 12 Wings thanks to a vintage-inspired leather upper complete with black piping, OG Wings branding, and a unique heel and tongue tag featuring the ‘Wings’ silhouette from the 1989 Nike poster. Other premium details include a familiar ‘Wings’ graphic lining that carries over from the Jordan 12, boot laces, and an icy outsole with bold Wings branding. There’s still no Release Date information for the coming Jordan 1 Wings retro, but we’re definitely feeling the different direction Jordan Brand took with this lifestyle take on MJ’s first silhouette. More details to come.

Look Out For The Air Jordan 4 Sand Later This Year

Another classic colorway of the Air Jordan 4 will be making a return this year, which consists of the Linen/Sand iteration that first released back in 2006.

Although it was a women’s exclusive, the forthcoming pair is suggested to remain a women?s exclusive and simply stay true to its OG counterpart. White tumbled leather comprises the sneaker’s majority, while the defining light sand tone is implemented throughout for a solid two-tone finish. In addition, pops of soar blue are applied on the branded tongue.

With its suggested retail price listed at $140, the sneaker is scheduled to debut sometime this Summer or Fall 2017.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for further updates.
