What Air Jordan Retro Inspires The New Jordan Fly 89

Quick! Which Air Jordan retro influenced and inspired this brand new Jordan Brand lifestyle model dubbed the Jordan Fly 89? Take a look at the heel, lacing wings/system and it should be a dead giveaway. If you answered Air Jordan 4, you got it right.

The Jordan Fly 89 is a new lifestyle model inspired by the Jordan 4. The modern and minimalistic design consists of a sock-like stretch textile upper that assures plenty of comfort and flexibility. Joining the textile upper is the aforementioned Jordan 4-inspired laced loops, the Jordan branded leather tag on the tongue, the Air Jordan 4 inspired heel tabs, the fused hits on the toe for added protection and durability and the midsole which happens to come with comfy  and lightweight Lunarlon cushioning.

Dropping April 13th, how many Jordan fans are willing to give this new lifestyle model a chance?

A First Look At The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High Sample

The latest rumored collab to break the internet is this sample between Off-White and Jordan Brand. What you see above is the first look at the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High sample. One of the most uniquely designed Air Jordan 1 High collab we’ve seen in quite some time, let’s get a closer look.

The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High opts for a classic Chicago color scheme, but that’s where the traditional aspect of the shoe ends. There’s plenty of things that make the shoe stand out from your regular-constructed Air Jordan 1 High. For starters, the medial side gets rid of the Swoosh  in favor of OFF WHITE branding that reads ” Off-White TM for NIKE “AIR JORDAN 1″ Beverton, Oregon USA c. 1985”. If you take a closer look, you will see that the perforation/stitch holes of the Swoosh are still intact. The lateral side of the shoe does have a Swoosh on it, but it appears to only be connected to the shoe by the visible Blue stitching on noted on both ends of the Swoosh. When it comes to construction, it appears as if leather, suede and some kind of mesh are all in play. Get a good look at the images above and let us know if this collab is something you’d really consider picking up or is this the perfect example of pure hype?

A Preview Of The Air Jordan 2 Decon

The classic Air Jordan 2 is expected to receive a deconstructed makeover this summer to follow the Air Jordan 1 High releasing for Easter. Just like the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 2 features a slimmed-down profile that is intended to be more of a lifestyle sneaker. Still staying true to its original design, tonal suede makes up the thin upper and a matching sole unit that is also thinner completes the build.

Colorways of ?Thunder Blue,? ?Bio Beige? and ?Bordeaux? are previewed for now and it’s expected to drop at select Jordan Brand stores on July 15 for a retail price tag of $160. Keep it locked to KicksOnFire for more updates.

Is An OFF WHITE x Air Jordan 1 Collaboration Releasing

off-white-jordan-1-01

Virgil Abloh’s OFF WHITE imprint is going to be a major player on the Nike Sportswear collaborative front for the next couple of seasons. Not only have we seen multiple early samples of the Air Force 1 featuring literally “Everything In Quotes” to label the intricate constructions of the classic silhouette, but the Nike Blazer has also appeared revitalized from the fashion imprint. But those will pale in comparison to what’s next: an OFF WHITE Air Jordan 1 collaboration.

After Hiroshi Fujiwara touched the 1985 grail with his fragment 1s, it doesn’t look like the Air Jordan 1 Retro High is off-limits on the collaborative front anymore, and this OFF WHITE Jordan 1 is the craziest concept we’ve seen yet. The Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” colorway serves as the base, while the medial side Swoosh is ditched entirely (you can still see the original perforations) for an OFF WHITE branded stamp of approval featuring Beaverton, Oregon and the year the model initially came to be: 1985. Check out a brief look at the OFF WHITE Air Jordan 1 sample below, and we’ll keep you updated if this pair will actually release right here on Sneaker News. In the meantime, head over to our Jordan Release Dates page for more updates.

air-jordan-7-gg-black-hyper-pink-1

The Jordan 7 is getting a boost in the coming months with the release of the Pure Money and Pantone options, and like many of Jordan Brand’s other past retro releases, the girls’ catalog will get their very own colorway. The Air Jordan 7 “Black/Pink” is set to release later this Spring 2017 featuring an updated tumbled leather panel overlay murdered out to match the smooth synthetic leather underneath. That Hyper Pink shade is the unofficial signature color of the grade school girls’ lineup and is featured prominently on the midsole and Jumpman branding here. Be sure to check out our Jordan Release Dates page for more info regarding all of the coming Jumpman retros, and you can expect this pair to drop in the coming weeks.

The Air Jordan 2 Will Get Deconstructed This Summer

The Air Jordan 2 doesn’t get as much love as it truly deserves. The shoes were universally panned at the time of its original release, but it opened doors for Nike to get sexier with leather materials and animal-print textures, which is the standard for today’s higher-end retro product offerings. This Summer, Jordan Brand will present the Air Jordan 2 Decon, a slimmed-down version of the 1987 silhouette.

By removing the excess padding, the Air Jordan 2 Decon is obviously much slimmer on feet and lends to the dominant casual/lifestyle trend. Color-blocking options appear to be the usual tonal style; seen here is a mint and Bordeaux while an unseen “Sail” colorway is coming as well. Expect a release in July with a $150 MSRP.

Who Picked Up A Pair Of The Air Jordan 1 High Blue Suede

When word got out that Jordan Brand would be releasing Air Jordan 1 Highs done in all-suede uppers, it got people low-key hyped for them. But here’s where I think Nike dropped the ball with this release, the dropped this version of the Air Jordan 1 High too close to the release of the highly coveted Air Jordan 1 High Royal OG. By doing that, everyone kind of forgot about the Air Jordan 1 High Blue Suede and went after the OG Royal 1s instead.

Now that the dust has cleared, we can once again place out attention on the Air Jordan 1 High Blue Suede. Dope in it’s own way, this version of the Jordan 1 High comes in all-Blue fashion. This includes the suede upper, laces, lining, branding and the entire sole. No Nike Air branding, but it’s still clean IMO. Priced at $140, this is definitely a dope pick up whether you managed to pick up the Royal 1s or not. Get a pair today while supplies last.
