Up Close And Personal With The Air Jordan 4 Pure Money

If we had to pick an all-white sneaker that is destined to dominate the Summer of 2017 it would be tough to argue against the Air Jordan 4 Pure Money.

Making its return this weekend, this heavenly colorway of the Air Jordan 4 features an all-white buttery leather with accompanying leather detailing on the signature wings straps on the ankle. In addition to the white leather upper we also see white mesh side panels, a white midsole, and Pure Platinum on the tongue patch and outsole. The highlights of this shoe have to be the chrome that hits the waffle eyelets and the Jumpman on the heel. Oh yeah, and how can we forget about the “PURE$” on the inside of the heel tab? Classic! You can cop the Air Jordan 4 Pure Money on May 13th for a retail price of $190.

San Antonio Spurs Equipment Manager Says Kawhi Wears New Jordans Every Four Games

Every NBA player’s footwear preferences are different. In an interview with Express News, San Antonio Spurs equipment manager Travis Wade revealed some of the Spurs’ players seasonal rotations vary greatly depending on their position and status within the team. Kawhi Leonard has been rocking the Air Jordan 31 throughout the season in a number of his ‘The Claw’ themed player exclusives, and according to Wade, Kawhi usually needs a new pair every 4th game. Leonard isn’t the type of player to demand new shoes either, it’s just that his high-intensity level of play usually beats up his Jordan 31s within the span of four games. Other callouts from the article include how Tim Duncan played in the same pair of shoes until the laces ripped and Manu Ginobili can wear a pair up to half of the season. Check out the full story here and stay tuned to see what Kawhi laces up tonight in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Houston Rockets.

Pricing Information For The Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Arctic Orange

Earlier this week Don C and Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 Arctic Orange that will be releasing this weekend. Many people were left with a sour taste in their mouth when it was confirmed that the shoe would only be releasing in grade school, pre-school and toddler sizes. The reason for this is because the past Just Don x Air Jordan 2 releases only released in men’s sizes, so Just Don wanted to make a drop exclusively for them this time around, specifically his family.

So now that we know who will be able to cop and fit into a pair, let’s break down the pricing. Grade School will retail for $350, Preschool for $200, and Toddler for $150. SO there you have it. Good luck grabbing a pair on Saturday, May 13th.

The Game Supports Lonzo Balls $495 Shoe, Criticizes Michael Jordan

the-game-supports-lonzo-ball-sneakers

The Game is one of the numerous high profile celebrities to support Lonzo and Lavar Ball’s independent sneaker brand, Big Baller Brand, and his recently announced ZO2 model. The shoes go for $495 USD and are marketed as a luxury item thanks to the faux-python upper and a cushioning system that’s definitely inspired by Boost on the midsole unit, but the way the shoe looks isn’t usually the reason that people are supporting the Ball family. The Game explained that he’s spent over $1 million on Nike and Jordan products over the years and thinks it’s funny that people will easily pay upwards of $400 for Gucci flip flops but turn around and complain when an unestablished brand that’s family run tries to do the same. The rapper also announced that he’ll be buying 10 more pairs for kids who can’t afford them. He makes some interesting points including being critical of Michael Jordan’s involvement in the black community over the years. Here’s what he said:

I also think about all these $500 duplicate Jordans niggas out here going broke & dying over just trying to keep up with Jones’s…. While MJ, as much as I love & support him & his legacy ain’t really ever did much for the black community other then tax our mothafuckin’ ass for the same shoes over & over as well as charge these kids parents hella money to get in these camps.

At the same time, it’s not like the Ball family is making the Big Baller Brand Z02s any more affordable for kids that will look up to Lonzo once he’s drafted in this year’s NBA Draft which was the main reason why The Game was being somewhat critical of MJ and Jordan Brand in the first place. Check out the full Instagram post below and stay tuned for more updates on the Big Baller Brand’s attempt to make waves in the sneaker industry right here on Sneaker News.

Bow Wow: Michael Jordan Threw Out My Iversons

bow-wow-michael-jordan-threw-away-iversons

Around the time that Shad Moss aka Bow Wow was filming Like Mike, he and Marcus Jordan would meet up every time that the rapper/actor would land in Chicago and have a sleepover at Michael Jordan’s famous mansion. Shad joined VICELAND’s late night duo Desus & Mero to talk a sleepover gone wrong in which he showed up to Mike’s home wearing Iverson’s (we can only assume that it was this pair) and Duke shorts and woke up to an angry MJ questioning who had the balls to wear Blue Devils’ (an obvious rival to his alma mater UNC) and a competing brand like Reebok that was hot at the time given Allen Iverson’s MVP status in the early 2000s. It all ended well apparently, as Michael Jordan got on the phone and replaced the Duke shorts and Iverson kicks with some Jumpman gear. Watch the full story unfold below.
