Jordan Brand Honors Russell Westbrooks Record-Setting Triple Double Season

Russell Westbrook really did it. The man averaged a triple-double for an entire season and broke what many thought would be an unbreakable record: Oscar Robertson’s 41 triple-doubles in a single season. After Kevin Durant left Oklahoma City high and dry over the summer, Westbrook finally had his chance to prove that he was one of the NBA’s premier stars, and he didn’t disappoint – leading an undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder team that had no business making the playoffs to a 45+ win season. Jordan Brand is celebrating the historic accomplishment with the Air Jordan 31 “Why Not” PE, slated to release on April 29th, 2017. The pair features classic cement Elephant Print in an homage to Russell’s Air Jordan 3 PE that he debuted on-court all the way back in 2013 (a pair that we’d love to see release given the historic accomplishment). So what’s next for Westbrook? How about that MVP award? Why Not?

What Air Jordan Retro Inspires The New Jordan Fly 89

Quick! Which Air Jordan retro influenced and inspired this brand new Jordan Brand lifestyle model dubbed the Jordan Fly 89? Take a look at the heel, lacing wings/system and it should be a dead giveaway. If you answered Air Jordan 4, you got it right.

The Jordan Fly 89 is a new lifestyle model inspired by the Jordan 4. The modern and minimalistic design consists of a sock-like stretch textile upper that assures plenty of comfort and flexibility. Joining the textile upper is the aforementioned Jordan 4-inspired laced loops, the Jordan branded leather tag on the tongue, the Air Jordan 4 inspired heel tabs, the fused hits on the toe for added protection and durability and the midsole which happens to come with comfy  and lightweight Lunarlon cushioning.

Dropping April 13th, how many Jordan fans are willing to give this new lifestyle model a chance?

A First Look At The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High Sample

The latest rumored collab to break the internet is this sample between Off-White and Jordan Brand. What you see above is the first look at the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High sample. One of the most uniquely designed Air Jordan 1 High collab we’ve seen in quite some time, let’s get a closer look.

The Off-White x Air Jordan 1 High opts for a classic Chicago color scheme, but that’s where the traditional aspect of the shoe ends. There’s plenty of things that make the shoe stand out from your regular-constructed Air Jordan 1 High. For starters, the medial side gets rid of the Swoosh  in favor of OFF WHITE branding that reads ” Off-White TM for NIKE “AIR JORDAN 1″ Beverton, Oregon USA c. 1985”. If you take a closer look, you will see that the perforation/stitch holes of the Swoosh are still intact. The lateral side of the shoe does have a Swoosh on it, but it appears to only be connected to the shoe by the visible Blue stitching on noted on both ends of the Swoosh. When it comes to construction, it appears as if leather, suede and some kind of mesh are all in play. Get a good look at the images above and let us know if this collab is something you’d really consider picking up or is this the perfect example of pure hype?
