The Game is one of the numerous high profile celebrities to support Lonzo and Lavar Ball’s independent sneaker brand, Big Baller Brand, and his recently announced ZO2 model. The shoes go for $495 USD and are marketed as a luxury item thanks to the faux-python upper and a cushioning system that’s definitely inspired by Boost on the midsole unit, but the way the shoe looks isn’t usually the reason that people are supporting the Ball family. The Game explained that he’s spent over $1 million on Nike and Jordan products over the years and thinks it’s funny that people will easily pay upwards of $400 for Gucci flip flops but turn around and complain when an unestablished brand that’s family run tries to do the same. The rapper also announced that he’ll be buying 10 more pairs for kids who can’t afford them. He makes some interesting points including being critical of Michael Jordan’s involvement in the black community over the years. Here’s what he said:

I also think about all these $500 duplicate Jordans niggas out here going broke & dying over just trying to keep up with Jones’s…. While MJ, as much as I love & support him & his legacy ain’t really ever did much for the black community other then tax our mothafuckin’ ass for the same shoes over & over as well as charge these kids parents hella money to get in these camps.

At the same time, it’s not like the Ball family is making the Big Baller Brand Z02s any more affordable for kids that will look up to Lonzo once he’s drafted in this year’s NBA Draft which was the main reason why The Game was being somewhat critical of MJ and Jordan Brand in the first place. Jordan Brand has signed its first-ever Chinese basketball player in Guo Ailun, a 24-year-old rising star who currently plays for the Lianoing Flying Leopards of the CBA. This signing comes as part of the brand’s 20th Anniversary celebration of its entrance into the Chinese market, which considers basketball its most popular sport. Guo isn’t the first to be signed to a major brand; Hall of Famer Yao Ming and promising forward Yi Jianlian signed with Reebok and Nike, respectively, upon entering the NBA.

Michael Jordan even dropped a message for Guo as part of the official introduction. See the video below.

This Saturday, one of the most expensive kids shoes of all-time will release to the public – the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 “Arctic Orange”. Don C made the kids/toddler sizing deliberate, as he wanted the shoes to be available to his family members who missed out on his first two launches. However, the term “accessible” should not be used freely as the shoes are priced at $150 for toddler sizes, $200 for pre-school, and $350 for big girls. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s strong rumors that an all-red Air Jordan 11 will finally be releasing this year during the holiday season.

Today we get what is believed to be our first look at the Air Jordan 11 Gym Red which features a bright red ballistic mesh upper with a matching patent leather mudguard. Other noticeable details that we can see in this picture include a black Jumpman on the ankle, a white midsole, and an icy blue translucent outsole.

If this is indeed a first look at the pair that will be releasing this December, what are your thoughts? Are you happy with the results? Remember that the shoe is scheduled to release on December 16, 2017 for $220.

Jordan Brand will be releasing a new Heiress Collection this month which consists of the Air Jordan 11 Low, Air Jordan 1 High, Jordan Eclipse, and the Jordan Trunner LX. Here we bring you images of the Trunner which, as you already know, has made a return in 2017.

This GS colorway of the Jordan Trunner LX features a woven mesh upper in White and Pure Platinum with an eye-catching crackled textured leather being placed on the midfoot strap. Part of Jordan Brand’s 2017 Heiress Collection is one of Jordan Brand’s latest lifestyle models, the Jordan Eclipse. The low top sneaker has been covered in a crackled textured leather all throughout the upper in white with neoprene detailing on the tongue and inner liner. Tonal branding has then been added on the tongue pull tab and the heel for a finishing touch.

Going for a pristine look for the upcoming Summer season, this Air Jordan 1 High features an all-white leather upper with eye-catching pearlized crackled textured leather on the overlays. Even the tongue tag (which features a Jumpman on it) has been hit with the same textured leather. Pure Platinum accents are then present on the Wings logo on the ankle and on the rubber outsole. Release date for the Air Jordan 1 High GS Frost White (Heiress) is scheduled for May 20th with a retail price of $140.

Around the time that Shad Moss aka Bow Wow was filming Like Mike, he and Marcus Jordan would meet up every time that the rapper/actor would land in Chicago and have a sleepover at Michael Jordan’s famous mansion. Shad joined VICELAND’s late night duo Desus & Mero to talk a sleepover gone wrong in which he showed up to Mike’s home wearing Iverson’s (we can only assume that it was this pair) and Duke shorts and woke up to an angry MJ questioning who had the balls to wear Blue Devils’ (an obvious rival to his alma mater UNC) and a competing brand like Reebok that was hot at the time given Allen Iverson’s MVP status in the early 2000s. It all ended well apparently, as Michael Jordan got on the phone and replaced the Duke shorts and Iverson kicks with some Jumpman gear. Watch the full story unfold below.
