Our First Look At The Nike SB Stefan Janoski Slip-On

NIKE SB STEFAN JANOSKI SLIP-ON 1 NIKE SB STEFAN JANOSKI SLIP-ON 2 NIKE SB STEFAN JANOSKI SLIP-ON 3 NIKE SB STEFAN JANOSKI SLIP-ON 4

Over the years, the Nike SB Stefan Janoski line has released a handful of different hybrid versions. Today they unveil their latest version which has the shoe come in a classic slip-on construction we’re used to seeing on a certain model from another brand.

With an obvious inspiration stemming from the Vans Slip-On, the Janoski tries on the laceless look on for size. The first two colorways that have been unveiled show the Nike SB Stefan Janoski Slip-On come in a black suede upper and a white canvas upper. Both styles come paired up with a white vulcanized sole unit as well as contrasting Nike Swoosh branding placed on the side panels. What do you think? Is this a look you like on the Nike SB Janoski? Sound off in the comments below.

A Closer Look At The Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB

It’s Kobe Bryant’s final season in the NBA, which means it’s also the final season we’ll see him breaking out exclusives editions of this signature line. It’s truly the end of an era, but at least we have plenty of great retail releases of his latest signature still to look forward to. There has been perhaps no colorway as anticipated as the one we’re here to take another look at today, the Kobe 11 Elite “4KB”. The unique colorway pairs a pristine white Flyknit base with multicolor threading woven into the midfoot while white leather Swooshes are stitched above. This version also adds heel tabs, which we haven’t seen on the previous releases. Is this the best version of the Nike Kobe 11 yet? If you’re a Kobe fan that can’t live without a pair, don’t forget that they drop March 14th at select Nike Basketball retailers like Oneness.

The weather is about to get a lot warmer thanks to the arrival of Spring in a couple of weeks and we’ll be seeing the low-top version of the LeBron 13 make its debut.

Today we get a close and detailed look at the black and red colorway of the Nike LeBron 13 Low which is the same pair that LeBron James first wore during All Star Weekend in Toronto. This colorway of the LeBron 13 Low comes with a black-based upper and red detailing on the Swoosh, tongue and heel pull tabs, and the translucent outsole. A white midsole adds some more contrast to this LeBron 13 that is scheduled to release on April 2nd at select Nike retailers.

Author’s Take

The more I look at the low-top version of the LeBron 13 the more I like it better than the original. I think this lower silhouette has a better lifestyle look and is easier to wear with different looks.

Nike Tennis Introduces The NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly

Nike just introduced a new tennis silhouette to the world known as the NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly.

This new tennis sneaker from the Swoosh was designed to be a ?rocket ship? for tennis athletes. Nike’s thought process when creating this shoe was to combine a tennis shoe and a track spike that could take the sport to a completely new area. Looking at the NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly what immediately stands out the most is the Flyknit ankle cuff. Other features include a track and field-tested Pebax propulsion plate, and hexagonal Nike Zoom Air units. The asymmetrical construction of the shoe aims to help athletes cut diagonally across the court.

The NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly will release in White/Volt and an all-Black colorway for men and women on March 9th at nike.com and select Nike retailers.

Author’s Take

Since I don’t play or watch tennis I don’t have an interest in tennis shoes. But looking at this new Air Zoom Ultrafly I like the design of the upper and the placement of the Swoosh. If I played tennis I’d definitely rock this sneaker.

Nike Brings Back The Legendary atmos x Air Max 1 Next Week

Nearly three weeks ago, we learned that Nike was bringing back the legendary atmos x Air Max 1 “Safari” with some altered materials. This news came as a surprise considering this release is thirteen years old and a re-release seemed rather unlikely, but it appears that Nike made sure to avoid ruffling the features of OG Air Max heads that consider this the greatest Air Max ever (and it just might be) by making some small tweaks. For the 2016 version, Nike brings a nappy suede toe-box opposed to the durable canvas on the original, and the outsole is a clear glow-in-the-dark version instead of gum. The official press release makes no mention of the Japanese shop that created the colorway in the first place, which is…shocking. A release is now scheduled for March 14th at noon EST via the Nike Drawing system. Stay tuned for more updates on availability at other shops, and let us know what you feel about this “Retro” release.

Nike Air Max Plus Love/Hate Pack Releases Soon

The Nike Air Max Plus, known sometimes as the Nike Ar Max TN, was one of the boldest releases to arrive in 1998. It isn’t hard to see why thanks to a flame-like overlay system that combined performance mesh with a patent sheen of a futuristic webbing to add lockdown support. The silhouette has since been a popular facet in European sneakerhead’s hearts, and they’ll be especially happy with the upcoming “Love/Hate” Pack. The Air Max Plus shines in a high contrast red and black theme, as you can choose between the two shades for your mesh base while patent leather hits the mudguard. Chances are both of these pairs will remain European exclusives once they hit overseas retailers on March 26th, but those of you dwelling stateside can still hold out hope for a U.S. release this Spring. If that’s the case, we’ll keep you updated on availability right here on Sneaker News.

A Detailed Look At The Nike LeBron 13 Low

It’s that time of year when Nike Basketball starts previewing Elite models and rolling out summer-centric silhouettes featuring low top tooling like this Nike LeBron 13 Low. The past few LeBron models have been so high-tech that wearing them off-the-court has proven difficult or, at the very least, polarizing in opinion on whether you can pull off the model in a lifestyle setting. This low top variety will help you do just that as the LeBron 13 Low features that combination of hexagonal air on the forefoot and air max on the heel for an extra comfortable and functional ride. The iconic Black/Red combination known the world over as “Bred” works rather well for the new silhouette, as the forefoot Swoosh remains highlighted by the fresh use of University Red. What do you think of LeBron’s new model? This pair is currently slated for an April 2nd release but head to our release dates page for more of the latest and greatest headed to retailers.

Nike Introduces the Next Generation of Tennis Performance: The Air Zoom Ultrafly

Nike is ready to unleash the next generation of high-performance tennis footwear by presenting the bold and innovative NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly. Unlike any tennis shoe before it, the Ultrafly takes heavy inspiration from a few of the brand’s speedy and lightweight football, soccer, and track & field models before it. Inspired to create the perfect mix of a tennis shoe and a track spike, NikeCourt designers aimed to invent a “rocket ship” for tennis.

Sneaker Grails: Nike Air Force 1 Low Finish Your Breakfast Pays Homage To A Streetball Legend

‘My homey Strick told me, “Dude, finish your breakfast”‘ – Jay Z from “Public Service Announcement”

Sneaker Freaker Sneaker Freaker Sneaker Freaker Sneaker Freaker

Today is National Cereal Day. For today’s Sneaker Grails we’re going to talk about a Nike Air Force 1 Low drop from a few years back that references breakfast and the life lessons it can teach. Because Jay and Strick said so.

“Public Service Announcement” is a song off Jay Z’s classic – and arguably best work – The Black Album. Marketed as the final Jay Z album, Hov knew he had to finish strong and he delivered with songs like “99 Problems”, “Encore”, “Lucifer”, “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and much more. It was an event not unlike what Jay and his wife Beyonce and his buddy Kanye West do nowadays for their new albums (or Yeezy Seasons), but with way more lead time and advertisement to get the fans itching with anticipation.

The “Strick” that Jay talks about in the song is John Strickland, a New York City Streetball legend and friend of Jay’s who passed away in his sleep at the too early age of 38. Nicknamed “The Franchise”, Strickland was not your typical streetball star because he didn’t dazzle you with his fancy attire and deft ball-handling, although he could break that out too when it mattered. Rather he destroyed anybody who dared try him in the post. While dominating the NYC scene for two decades, he also played in the CBA and the PBL, taking him to places like Halifax, where he earned quite the following there as well.

“Finish Your Breakfast” is a line that Strickland liked to use to emphasize finishing strong. Whenever you had an easy shot or a lay-up or a dunk, Strick would say that so that you wouldn’t take those points for granted. It stuck with Jay and according to his book Decoded, since The Black Album was supposed to be his final album, it had to be a sure thing like a lay-up. While everybody agrees that “Finish Your Breakfast” is Strick’s most famous catchphrase, the line in the song has been disputed for years, with some saying Jay said it to Strick during a 2003 game or that Strick said to someone who botched an alley-oop. Like most arguments about sneakers, it doesn’t actually matter; Strick’s message is what resonates. Finish strong or don’t even bother.

In 2011, Nike Sporstwear honored Strick’s legacy with a special white version of the Nike Air Force 1 Low. From afar or to the untrained eye, it looks like your run of the mill AF1 Low, but a closer inspection reveals that the swoosh did right by Strick. Premium leather construction, Strick’s “Franchise” nickname embossed on the heel and of course, the line “Finish Your Breakfast” can be found on the tongue tag. It’s a fitting tribute to a man who gave us so much. While I will admit to not knowing much about Strick during his time here on Earth, I could feel the love from the people who knew him in doing research for this piece. RIP, Strick…

Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB

Kobe won’t be using his Elite tooling in the playoffs for his last season, but he can take solace in knowing that his young Laker teammates are starting to mature with a blowout win over the league-best Golden State Warriors last night. We’ll definitely see the Black Mamba rock the Nike Kobe 11 Elite by the end of his farewell tour, and today we get a look at the first retail version of his premium model named the 4KB. The high-definition use of Multi-Color Flyknit patterns on the side panel stand-out from a clean white backdrop while a premium leather Swoosh adds to the pristine appearance. A unique heel construction features Metallic Silver with logos you might find in NBA 2K to denote a certain player’s skillset. What do you think of this Kobe 11 Elite? Grab more official photos below and pick up this upcoming Kobe pair on March 14th for $220.

Three Tonal Colorways Of The Nike Dunk High CMFT Are On The Way

NIKE DUNK HIGH 1 NIKE DUNK HIGH 2 NIKE DUNK HIGH 3 NIKE DUNK HIGH 4

Fans of the Nike Dunk High CMFT will be happy to hear that 3 tonal colorway of the shoe are set to release in the neat future. Today we get a quick look at all three versions and fill you in with all we know regarding these releases.

The shoe will come in three different colors: Red, Black or White. All three pairs will come in a leather construction in which a different hue placed on the laces and branding help create some nice contrast on the upper. A white midsole appears on all three, while some kind of wording can be seen creeping out of the heel of the shoe. No word yet on what the words are on the heel, but we’re pretty sure that it has to do with the theme of the shoe. You like the look? Kind of reminds me of the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration, right?

via: atmos

Author’s Take

The colors on the shoe are nothing new, we’ve seen this before. What I’m curious to see is what the words on the heel say. I’m sure that will be a big deciding factor for people who are on the fence about the shoe.

The Womens Nike Air Huarache Run Pink Blast Is Up Next

NIKE AIR HUARACHE 1 NIKE AIR HUARACHE 2 NIKE AIR HUARACHE 3

Ladies, if you’re in the market for some bold sneakers for the spring season, take a good look at this upcoming Huarache dubbed the Nike Air Huarache Run Pink Blast. If bright is what you’re looking for, I think we’ve found your match.

The shoe was actually given a first look earlier this week as a part of Nike Huarache spring collection. Tinker Hatfield’s classic creation takes on a Pink Blast upper offset by the black and Hyper Crimson hits placed throughout the shoe. There is also a feature on the shoe worth mentioning being that we don’t usually see it on this mode. If you take a look at the pink overlays you will notice that they come covered in micro-perforations to give the model and new look and feel. A white midsole and black outsole complete the look of the shoe. Said to be releasing this spring, we will be sure to let you know once that date arrives.

via: Asphalt Gold

Author’s Take

I wonder if the micro-perforations actually make a difference, as in make the shoe more breathable. The shoe is bright alright, so if that’s the look you’re going for, this shoe will be a good choice.
