A Detailed Look At The Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB

Next week will give us the release of the newest colorway of Kobe Bryant’s latest signature sneaker, I’m talking about the clean Nike Kobe 11 Elite 4KB. Coming in all-white with a little bit of multicolor pop this is without a doubt one of the freshest colorways that we’ve seen on the model.

The 4KB version of the Nike Kobe 11 Elite is dressed in a godly white Flyknit upper that ends up covering the majority of the shoe. The only area not covered in white Flyknit are the mulitcolor Flyknit hits placed on the side panels of the shoe. A touch of gold accents are found on the heel tabs, while lime green takes care of the Flywire and footbed. A white leather tongue with tonal Kobe branding, white laces and a white Nike Swoosh laying over the multicolor Flyknit complete the major traits of the shoe. Set to release March 14th for $220, who’s looking to pick up a pair?

Author’s Take

Very dope looking pair of Kobes. Aside from the extra care and maintenance needed to keep the white Flyknit clean, it’s a nicely made shoe. I’m pretty sure it will do well.

Nike Mayfly Woven Terra Red

After some time in hibernation, the Nike Mayfly Woven returns again this spring with all-new colorways. The premium lifestyle take on the lightweight performance racing model modifies the silhouette with a woven suede upper, seen here in its latest colorway of Terra Red. The earthy red hue is applied tonally across the upper, with only a small portion of black for the heel panels. The new season of Mayfly Woven releases are arriving now at select Nike Sportswear retailers, including Rock City Kicks.

Nike LeBron 13 Low Cavs

There are a lot of LeBron fans who strictly wear the low-top models. It’s understandable, considering the recent Nike LeBron signature shoes were a bit “over-designed” are a bit too substantial to taste. That’s where the low-top comes in; the LeBron Lows are typically take-down versions rather than lower-cut versions of the signature models, and the LeBron 13 Low is just that because it doesn’t feature any of the gaudy Posite sectionals on the upper. In addition, visible Max Air unit is used as the primary cushioning system for the Summer-ready shoes. This new Cavs colorway is bound to impress, as it features the Cleveland-friendly wine red upper on top of a solid gum sole. Release info hasn’t been revealed, but expect it as early as April.

Nike Air Penny 2 Varsity Royal Is Hitting Retail Soon

Nike isn’t shy about re-releasing past collaborations in wider “general release” style. Sole Collector’s Air Penny 2 design from 2011, included in the massive “Penny Pack” that also featured the Air Max Penny, Air Penny, Air Foamposite One, and Zoom Rookie, is slated for a release sometime this year, and a drop might happen sometime soon because the remixed Orlando colorway has just surfaced on eBay. For those who still call Penny king and love a basic Magic-themed concoction, this release is for you. Check out a look at the 2016 version of the Air Penny 2 “Sole Collector” and cop a pair now on eBay.

The Nike Air Max 1 Safari Will Release Next Week Via The SNKRS App

Nike Air Max 1 Safari 1 Nike Air Max 1 Safari 5 Nike Air Max 1 Safari 2 Nike Air Max 1 Safari 3 Nike Air Max 1 Safari 4 Nike Air Max 1 Safari 6

Previously believed to be a revamped version of the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 that originally released back in 2002, Nike has officially given us details about this upcoming release.

Nike has just added the Air Max 1 to their official release calendar and it turns out that it’s not a collaboration after all. They describe it as “reminiscent of a former collaborative Air Max release” and named it the Nike Air Max 1 Safari. Featuring a color combination of Flax, Chestnut and Kumquat, this Air Max 1 comes with new materials in order to differentiate it from the Atmos pair such as a hairy suede on the toe, and a translucent glow-in-the-dark outsole.

According to Nike the Air Max 1 Safari will release on March 14th for men exclusively on the SNKRS App via The Draw  (12pm?1pm EST) for a retail price of $150.

via: Nike

Author’s Take

I’m not sure why Nike didn’t just label this as a collaboration with Atmos again if it looks almost identical to the 2002 pair. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Regardless if it’s a collaboration or not I still think it’s a real clean colorway.

NIKEiD Now Allows You To Use Madras On Your Nike SB Stefan Janoski Creation

NIKEiD 1 NIKEiD 2 NIKEiD 3

Good news for all Nike SB Stefan Janoski lovers, you can now cover your NIKEiD creation in madera. For those of you who don’t know what madera is, it’s a lightweight cotton fabric with patterned texture and plaid design. It is mainly used on summer clothing such as pants, shorts, dresses, and jackets. Now that you know what it is, can you picture in on the Nike SB Janoski? If you can’t all you have to do is look at the images above.

You’ll be able to place the madera patterns all over the upper, but if you’re not feeling that bold you can just use to to offset your shoe by placing it on the quarter panels or base of the shoe. Thoughts on the new option? If you like what you see, you can now head on to Nike’s website and create your very own pair.

Jacquard Materials Hit The Nike Air Classic BW Ultra

Nike Sportswear is celebrating the 25th anniversary of one of the less-heralded visible air-wielding runners of the early 90s in the Nike Air Classic BW. The ‘Big Window’ classic didn’t benefit from an Air Max title even though it featured one of the largest implementations of the technology at the time, sandwiched between the two classics that were the Nike Air Max 90 and Nike Air Max 95. The 1991 silhouette has since returned in the form of the Nike Air Classic BW Ultra, a somewhat diet form of the original that now branches off featuring woven technology for a fully modernized aesthetic. Known as the Nike Air Classic Bw Ultra Jacquard, the Flyweave-like upper alternates between stripes of the traditional Persian Violet and a Bright Crimson for a head-turning look. 3M reflective detailing even strikes the heel just in case you want to take this pair out for a midnight run. Be sure to view more official images below and stay tuned for availability later this month.

Even though all of these are women’s colorways I wouldn’t mind wearing the Air Max 90. The bold red upper with textile detailing gives the shoe a really nice look.

Fun With NIKEiD: Nike Air Max iDs For Nikes Best

It’s March so you know what that means. No, it’s not March Madness or the Masters or the home stretch of the NBA season. March is now the month where we celebrate all things Air Max, culminating in the sneaker holiday that is now known as Nike Air Max Day. Sure, the actual meaning and significance of March 26 has never been totally clear to anybody outside of people at Nike HQ, but sometimes we just need an excuse to wear some dope Air Max kicks and Air Max Day has certainly become that day. Nike’s marketing probably got a huge raise after they pulled that off.

Anyways, for this year’s Air Max Day, Nike is promoting their NIKEiD creations featuring some of their top athletes, like Kevin Durant, Serena Williams and many more. In a testament to Nike’s huge roster of athletes, they didn’t get everybody a pair of Air Maxes… yet. And that’s why we’re here. In this edition of Fun With NIKEiD, we’re creating Nike Air Max 1 and Nike Air Max 90 iDs for some of the best Nike athletes that the swoosh maybe forgot to include. But we didn’t forget that’s for sure, and we made sure to not always pick the obvious influence, as you’ll see right off the bat… emphasis on “bat.”

Over the weekend we got a leaked image of the shoe you see above with a rumored attached to it suggesting that it was the Nike KD Trey 5 IV. Turns out that most of the sneaker blogs were wrong as we now got word that the shoe was simply a new colorway of the Nike KD Trey 5 III. Today we take a look at what Nike is calling the Nike KD Trey 5 III LMTD.

Said to be a special “Thumbs Up” colorway, this version is said to be a premium version of the shoe. The upper comes dressed in a leather and mesh construction that features an array of blue hues offset by the white found on the mesh toe and leather tongue. Unique features on the shoe include the embossed text on the leather tongue and the thumbs up patch on the tongues of the shoes. We’re still unsure as to what the thumbs up means, but we’re sure that Nike will soon fill us in. Are you a fan of what you see? Let us know in the comments below.

Author’s Take

It doesn’t really matter if it was the III or IV version of the KD Trey 5, it’s still a nice looking shoe. I’m just wondering what the patch on the tongue stands far. We will find out soon enough.

Nike Needs To Release These Air Max 1s In The U.S. Immediately

Seriously, why haven’t we seen these Nike Air Max 1s release yet? By now you’re familiar with Nike Sportswear teasing us with the return of the Air Max 1’s mini-Swoosh branding on the toe. Previews of this pair dating back to January have showcased Tinker Hatfield’s famed Safari Print atop the classic silhouette while the late-90s mini-Swoosh detailing returns for the first time in over a decade and a half. It’s an awesome little feature that will make traditionalists happy while also showcasing NSW’s ability to transform retro runners into complimentary lifestyle pieces with subdued colorways. Available in Pure Platinum/Kumquat or a Black/Anthracite options, these Nike Air Max 1 colorways should be available later this Spring 2016 season. Check out more photos below and stay tuned for a release date right here on Sneaker News.

Grey Nike Sock Darts Are Releasing This Weekend

The Nike Sock Dart was brought back around this time last year thanks to the hard work put in by NikeLab and fragment design’s own Hiroshi Fujiwara. While the pair eventually moved away from the two lightning bold logo and into general release territory, that didn’t stop people from holding an interest in the 2004 running retro. Now the shoe is back for 2016 in a subtle “Wolf Grey” appearance, as the stretchy knit upper exudes a light grey shade to match up nicely with the translucent forefoot strap and clean white midsole. This Sock Dart colorway is headed to retailers this Saturday, March 12th at select overseas shops, but there’s still no word yet on when the pair will arrive at stateside retailers. Be sure to head to our release dates page for an updated look at what else is headed to retailers this weekend.
