Inside HTM: Exploring Nikes Most Exclusive Clique

Since 2002, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield, and Mark Parker have dreamt up thirty-two insane iterations of existing shoes with the core mission of elevating style, function, and most importantly, wearability. They’ve dabbled on true classics like the Air Force 1 and innovative gems like the Flyknit Racer, but true HTM loyalists remember them for Air Wovens, the Macropus, and any other quirky sneaker that to the gen-pop, didn’t really seem to fit in. These limited edition products, most of the time individually numbered, helped fuel the sneaker craze and truly brought the hunt to the global level. Today, HTM is like the cool table in the lunch cafeteria that mystifies those around them, but Nike is ready to break that wall with an untold in-depth interview with the holy triumvirate.

Nike Previews The KD 9 With Miniature Figurine

Remember that mini figurine of the LunarEpic Flyknit we showed you yesterday? Turns out there are different models being made, like Kevin Durant’s upcoming Nike KD 9. The signature shoe that typically doesn’t release until late June or early July looks to be, based on these photos, a low-cut sneaker once again with a deep groove at the lateral forefoot (like the KD 8). Unfortunately, not much else can be discerned from the all-white mold, so stay tuned for more KD 9 details as we approach the official launch a few months from now.

King James Shoots For His Third NBA Championship With The Nike LeBron 13 Elite

“Now that Nike gave me that, I know my shoes are working as hard as I am.”

LeBron James in the NBA Finals? Not quite a headline for the greatest player of our generation. King James is aiming for his sixth straight Finals appearance this June, and it’ll take twelve grueling wins to reach that platform reserved for the players that “want it more” than anybody else. Going along for the ride is the fifth iteration of the LeBron Elite series, the LeBron 13 Elite. For the most finely-tuned LeBron sneaker yet, Nike keeps the postseason-targeted LeBron 13 Elite refreshingly simple in design, almost as if it were an entirely new shoe. The upper bootie features a Kurim cage, an extremely pliable and durable material that acts as the primary lockdown for LeBron’s feet. A massive carbon fiber shank that extends to the ankle provides even more stability and springiness, while the Hex-Zoom cushioning unit adds one more piece for even more support. Gather yourself and flip through the photos just ahead and stay tuned as LeBron James approaches the Playoffs in his quest for a third NBA title.

Nike Rules March Madness In The Past And The Present

Nike March Madness 1 Nike March Madness 2 Nike March Madness 3 Nike March Madness 4 Nike March Madness 5 Nike March Madness 6 Nike March Madness 7 Nike March Madness 8

The Men?s 2016 NCAA College Basketball Tournament is officially ready to get underway and out of the 44 teams in the tournament 69% of them are sponsored by Nike. That goes to show you the type of winning mentality that Nike and the schools that it sponsors both have.

Nike recently took the time to reflect on some of their great athletes that have moved on to play in the NBA. Some of the big names include DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors who earned First Team PAC-10 All-Freshman and PAC-10 Tournament MVP during his time at USC. We also have DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings who’s unique style of play earned him SEC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-SEC honors while at his time with the Kentucky Wildcats. From the Golden State Warriors we have Draymond Green who was named 2012 NABC National Player of the Year, capping off an impressive college career at Michign State that included 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, 80 double-doubles and three conference titles.

To read more about current Nike athletes that still proudly and boldly rep their respective alma mater, head over to nike.com. Who do you think will win the championship this year? Will it be a Nike sponsored school? Leave us your predictions down below.

Nike Kyrie 2 1 Nike Kyrie 2 2 Nike Kyrie 2 3

Last year Nike released the Nike Kyrie 1 Double Nickel that commemorated the game when Irving dropped 55 points against the Blazers. It went on to be one of the most popular colorways that was released of the Kyrie 1.

Nike is now commemorating Kyrie’s career-high 57 point game against the Spurs that also took place last year with a special colorway of the Kyrie 2. Kyrie’s best game ever as a pro took place on March 12, 2015 and Nike has created this new Kyrie 2 Ky-reer High almost exactly year later. This Kyrie 2 is dressed in Cavaliers team colors of Midnight Navy, University Gold, and Team Red. If you’d like pair you can purchase it directly through NIKEiD now for $150. Kyrie also wore this colorway yesterday in the Cavaliers blowout win against the Clippers.

The Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE Will Get A Retail Release

Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 1 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 2 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 3 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 4 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 5 Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE 6

The Nike Kyrie 2 released in the Brotherhood colorway a little over a week ago and while we all know that it was an homage to the time that Kyrie Irving spent at Duke, there was never an official connection made by Nike.

Now Nike will be releasing the official Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE that we first previewed two weeks ago. This Duke PE colorway of the Kyrie 2 comes with a Black upper and Game Royal accents on the outsole, the Nike Swoosh on the midfoot strap, and outlining the branding on the tongue and the DUKE name on the heels. The last color seen on the shoe is Reflective silver which appears on the all of the branding areas of the shoe including the DUKE on the heel and the Kyrie logo on the tongue.

You can find the Nike Kyrie 2 Duke PE at select Nike retailers on March 19th for a retail price of $120.

Author’s Take

With March Madness kicking off this week the timing for this Duke colorway couldn’t be better. If you’re a fan of Duke then I definitely recommend picking up a pair. I’m not so these will be a pass for me.

You Can Pick Up The Nike LeBron 13 Low Cavs Now

The Nike LeBron 13 Low released this past weekend without really any warning as the Metallic Silver colorway made its way to select retailers.

But the Metallic Silver Version isn’t alone, the Cavs colorway that we received a first look at last week has also began arriving at retailers. This new colorway of the LeBron 13 Low features a Team Red upper with White detailing on the midsole and Swoosh branding on the toe. Capping things off is a gum outsole for that simple and classic look.

You can find the Nike LeBron 13 Low Cavs/Team Red at select Nike retailers now for $175. Will you be picking up a pair?

via: RCK

Author’s Take

I’m not really a fan of the regular mid-top Nike LeBron 13 but the Low version looks much better. This Team Red option is definitely my favorite out of the few pairs that we’ve seen so far. The Team Red upper combined with the gum outsole work very well together. This would be a great Summer shoe.

Did You Pick Up This Nike Kobe 11 Elite Today

Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 1 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 2 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 3 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 4 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 5 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 6 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 7 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 8 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 9 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 10 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 11 Nike Kobe 11 White Horse 12

Not only did Nike release the Nike Air Max 1 Safari today, the Swoosh also released a brand new colorway of the Kobe 11.

Everyone (including us) has been calling this colorway of the Kobe 11 the 4KB but Nike gave us an official name last week and it’s now being known a the Kobe 11 Elite White Horse. Why White Horse? Well the only explanation that Nike gave on this colorway is as follows, “The latest iteration salutes the Black Mamba in winning fashion with callouts to the league legend.” So this Kobe 11 pretty much is a nod to Kobe’s winning ways. Labeled as an Elite Kobe 11, the shoes comes with a White and Multicolor Flyknit upper and retails for a premium price tag of $220.

So did you pick up a pair? Let us know in the comments below and remember that you can still pick up a pair at select Nike retailers.

Author?s Take

Kind of looks like the Kobe 9 ?What The? but in low-top form. I have a feeling not many people will like this colorway because of how plain it is. I know I don?t, especially not for $220.

Known as the Nike Air Max Zero Tokyo, this pink-based colorway of the Air Max sneaker features a special wave pattern on the toe and heel inspired by traditional Japanese art. In addition to the pink upper we also see blue and white detailing land on the shoe along with “TKO” lace dubraes. The official colorway is listed as Champagne, Midnight Navy and White.

Author’s Take

I?m sure these will sell out almost instantly on Air Max Day. I also wouldn’t be surprised if you see grown men trying to fit into a pair like they did with the pink 12s.

The Nike Air Max Zero Is Coming To NIKEiD This Month

Air Max Zero 6 Air Max Zero 1 Air Max Zero 2 Air Max Zero 3 Air Max Zero 4 Air Max Zero 5

The Nike Air Max Zero was unveiled and released to the public for the first time last year and had everyone talking about “the one before the one.” The debut blue and white colorway sold out instantly and people were immediately left wanting more. Earlier this year Nike released the OG yellow and white colorway that was featured in Tinker Hatfield’s first sketches of the design, and it also sold out instantly.

Now today we find out some amazing news for fans of the silhouette. The Nike Air Max Zero will be available on NIKEiD beginning on March 28th, two days after Air Max Day. Nike hasn’t announced how exactly we’ll be able to customize the shoe yet or how long it’ll be available, all they gave us was a look at the pair that soccer superstar Neymar designed which comes in a tonal volt colorway.

Make sure you stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more details and updates.

Author’s Take

I haven’t really liked any of the colorways that have released for the Nike Air Max Zero so it would be cool to buy a colorway that I can actually design myself. I look forward to seeing what options will be available.

The Nike Kyrie 2 Easter Is Almost Here

Nike Kyrie 2 Easter 1 Nike Kyrie 2 Easter 2 Nike Kyrie 2 Easter 3 Nike Kyrie 2 Easter 4

Easter is less than two weeks away and Nike Basketball is expected to once again release their annual Easter Collection featuring the LeBron 13, Kobe 11, KD 8 and Kyrie 2. Today we take a look at a few new images of the Kyrie 2 that come sdressed for the holiday.

This Easter version of the Nike Kyrie 2 features White on the majority of the upper but where things get really interesting is around the ankle. A colorful egg print/graphic has been splashed onto the ankle/heel area in a variety of different pastel colors that are a perfect representation of Easter eggs and the Spring season. The colors include Hyper Jade, Urban Lilac and Bright Mango. More color can also be seen on the outsole, Swoosh logo on the midsole and midfoot strap and the Kyrie branding on the tongue.

The Nike Kyrie 2 Easter is expected to release on March 25th so stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for official images in the near future.

Author’s Take

Great idea and execution by Nike of placing the Easter egg print/colors on the ankle area of this Kyrie 2. So far it looks like this will be the best Easter shoe out of the entire Nike Basketball collection.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro University Red Releases In April

2016 started off in a huge way for the Nike Air Foamposite Pro with another “Yeezy” release, but things are about to heat up a bit with a much-requested colorway in the spotlight once again. “University Red” was last seen on this model back in 2002, and over a decade later it returns and couldn’t have come back at a better time. Although it seems like the red foam upper has a glossier, more metallic look as well as a leather eye stay, it still retains the basic qualities that made it such a sought-after shoe in the first place. Along with the original “Royal Blue” colorway it’s rumored that the “Dr. Doom” and “Carolina” versions of the silhouette may be dropping this year also, so if you are a fan of Foams, 2016 is about to hurt your wallet. Get a closer look at the sneaker below and expect it to hit retailers on April 16th, 2016
