Another Look At The Upcoming Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10
By SoleInsider
Many adored the blacked-out iteration of the Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10 which LeBron James debuted during Game 3 Of The 2016 NBA Finals, but another colorway of the new basketball silhouette will also be offered soon.
Flaunting a tonal black hue across its breathable mesh upper with large perforations to enable maximum ventilation, the model is essentially constructed for performance, while also offering sufficient comfort and cooling.
Large velcro straps that offer superb lockdown are prominent on the mid-foot, while the sneaker also features an extended ankle support with an additional strap in contrasting red for even more reinforcement.
All resting atop a clean white sole unit, more accents of white adorn the Swoosh along its rear and branding on the strap.
Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for an official release date.
Following the release of the Michigan and UNLV colorways of the Nike Dunk High, Syracuse will be the next variation in line, as it dons the New York-based university’s signature colors.
Essentially sporting a clean and vibrant white/orange combination, the sneaker is comprised of premium leather, as it all rests atop a matching full-length rubber sole unit. Finished touches include tonal laces, rear pull tabs and branding on the tongue.
You can find this pair at select Nike retailers stateside soon, as it recently arrived at a few stocksits overseas.
I’ll always be a fan of this silhouette. Even though I don’t purchase it often anymore, I’m still biased towards its design. This colorway is solid and perfect for the season overall.

Opinion: Its Time To Retire The What The Nike Kicks
By SoleInsider
Editor’s Note: This piece was first published on August 19, 2015. We’ve made a few choice edits (in bold) because well, the point still stands. The “What The?” concept needs to retire or at the very least go back to the drawing board and rediscover what made them so beloved in the first place.
Maybe it’s time to finally add that last word to the sentence. For the past several years, sneakerheads have eagerly anticipated the release of the “What The?” Nike kicks. What started out as a creative and exciting concept for the Nike SB Dunk has been co-opted by other Nike branches as a means of capping off the year(s) that was for their signature shoes. While other shoes claim to capture a certain era through colorways that vaguely represent that time, “What The?” kicks were the literal interpretation of that, biting many of the stories Nike told through each signature shoe and spitting them out like a Titan who was bored and ready to move on to the next thing.
fatlace
The initial post-SB Dunk “What The?” kicks were promising enough, presented like a yearbook that highlighted the best colorwaysof a signature shoe. The peak would come the following year with the excellent “What The MVP” Nike LeBron 10 and Nike Kobe 8. The execution was there, the timing was right and the public craved it. You could honestly see Nike doing this every year from now on as a way to signal the end of a signature shoe’s run before moving on to the next model.
But just like any good idea, it gets recycled and repurposed until the public gets sick of it. Nike Sportswear got in on the act, using the concept on underwhelming releases like the Nike Air Max ’94 “What The Trainer” and the “What The Max” pack that just came and went with little fanfare. Then came the disappointing “What The?” Nike LeBron 11 that sounded great at first (draw inspiration from past LeBron signature models) but ended up feeling rushed and uninspired in the process. And don’t even get me started on that “What The” Nike Kobe 9 Elite that looks like any other colorway but has badges on the inner tongue like we’re supposed to care. While KD’s “What The?” releases have managed to stay true to the spirit of the original with the Nike KD 6 and to a lesser extent the Nike KD 7, there is a feeling of diminishing returns with each passing year.
Who cares?
The tipping point has got to be the “What The?” Nike LeBron 12“What The?” Nike KD 8. As someone who has actuallyEven though I haven’t seen it in person, it looks like a NIKEiD creation where the goal was to use every colorway theme at least once, but not in a way that actually made sense and had zero flow or inspiration. Well, mission accomplished, if the mission was to kill the “What The?” concept that is…
Nike
Just like Jordan Brand “retired” the Air Jordan 3 last yearin 2015 (but will unretire in 2016), it’s time for the “What The?” to take a break before we all hate it. Like Ric Flair, nothing ever really retires in sneakers. It doesn’t mean that it can’t make a triumphant comeback in several years, but we have to try other things that could signify the end of a sneaker’s year and miss the “What The?” before giving it another shot. Will there be people disappointed if this catch-all idea goes away? Of course, but it’s not like Nike can’t do retro “What The?” kicks years from now (Can you imagine if Nike does go that route and releases “What The?” editions of the Zoom Kobe 5 or the Zoom Generation? I’d be interested to see those.) By doing so, our fondness for the releases that did become instant classics grows and our bad memories of the crappier ones begin to fade into the background. Basically, the sooner we can forget the “What The?” LeBron 12“What The?” Nike KD 8 the better.

There Will Be A Cleat-Less Version Of The Nike Air Zoom Trout 3
By SoleInsider
Earlier today we gave you a look at the upcoming Nike Air Zoom Trout 3, MLB star Mike Trout’s next signature sneaker. If you liked what you saw but don’t want to buy the shoe because it’s a cleat then you’re in luck because Nike will be releasing a cleatless turf edition that is ideal for everyday wear.
The design of the turf version is similar to the cleat but one big difference is that the Swoosh has been shifted from the toe to the side panel for a more traditional look. The upper is composed of synthetic and is complete with no-sew seams and breathable mesh. Gone as well is the bootie style collar and is replaced with a more traditional look. The biggest change as you can already tell is the removal of the spikes on the outsole that have been replaced with turf-ready nubs.
You can expect the Nike Air Zoom Trout 3 Turf to release on July 8, the same day as the cleat, for $120.
This kind of looks like a trainer. Not sure if I would wear it, but for people who liked the cleat this is a much more suitable option that you can wear every day.

This colorway of the Uptempo was Pippen’s shoe of choice while playing in the 1996 Olympics. The shoe’s most distinguished feature is the ‘AIR’ branding placed on the side panels. Midnight Navy with hits of Sport Red and White create the motif on the shoe. Do you fit into GS sizes? Head on over to Jimmy Jazz and pick up a pair today for $130.

By SoleInsider
We all know, players such as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant are the faces of Nike Basketball. Players such as Rookie of the Year Karl Anthony-Towns, D?Angelo Russell, and Devin Booker are all young guns that are ready to take the next step in becoming heavy hitters with Nike. Nike’s future got even brighter as they’ve recently signed college sensation/future 1st round NBA pick, Ben Simmons.
Simmons was recently spotted on duty for Nike alongside Towns, Russel and Booker as they were working on creating an upcoming Foot Locker ad. The Nike SB Stefan Janoski has undergone yet another transformation as we take a look at the all-new Nike SB Stefan Janoski Hyperfeel.

Newly signed Nike Basketball athlete Ben Simmons, who is likely to be select first overall in the upcoming NBA Draft, is currently on duty for the Swoosh as he and his fellow young brand-mates have come together to film an upcoming Foot Locker ad. This photo is rather significant as it features the core for Nike hoops, with names like Karl Anthony-Towns, D’Angelo Russell, and Devin Booker leading the way for the next generation. Towns, who just won a unanimous Rookie Of The Year award, is in the big-man category which typically doesn’t feature signature shoe deals, but potential certainly remains for Lakers swingman D’Angelo Russell and of course, Ben Simmons, one of the most hyped first-overall picks since LeBron James. Where do you see the future of Nike Basketball headed? Is it in good hands?

In correlation with the 2016 MLB All Star Game that takes place next month, here’s an early look at Mike Trout‘s upcoming signature shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Trout 3.
The Air Zoom Trout 3 features a ridged upper that also comes with a bootie-like collar that seems to be made out of neoprene for a snug fit. Other details include a supportive heel counter, Flywire for a locked down fit, and visible Zoom on the heel.
This Nike Air Zoom Trout 3 looks completely different in comparison to the Nike Lunar Trout and the Nike Lunar Trout 2, so you can see that Nike wanted to go in a different direction with this shoe. Expected to release on July 8th for a retail price of $150, hit the comments below to give us your thoughts.
Can’t say that I like baseball cleats since I haveno use for them, but I think the design on this Air Zoom Trout 3 is pretty clean. The placement of the Swoosh and the neoprene collar are a nice touch.
