Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Nike Hyperdunk 2016 1 Nike Hyperdunk 2016 2 Nike Hyperdunk 2016 3 Nike Hyperdunk 2016 4

Following an initial look yesterday, official images of the upcoming Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Unlimited are now provided, as the model is noted to celebrate the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Comprised of black flyknit across its upper and distinctive extended sock component, the understated tone is juxtaposed against the defining theme, which consists of a gradient midsole which fades from yellow to orange and pink. A colorway that was inspired by the animals found in Brazil?s tropical rainforests, the model is topped off with a translucent outsole.

Stay tuned to KicksOnFire for an official release date.

Author’s Take

I?m not a fan of the extended sock much, but this colorway on the silhouette is pretty appealing. If I was playing bball often, I would consider purchasing this silhouette though.

The classic Nike Air More Uptempo Olympic will be making a return once again this year, as the silhouette celebrates its 20th anniversary and the 2016 Summer Games in Rio.

Originally seen on Scottie Pippen during the 1996 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain with the historic “Dream Team,” the iconic basketball sneaker essentially stays true to its OG counterpart. Midnight navy and white consists as its overall palette, while subtle contrasting hits of red adorn the tongue to round out the USA theme.

Priced at $160, you can find this standout 2016 variation at select Nike retailers on July 20th.

Author’s Take

I?ve always liked this model ever since I saw Scottie rock the pair. I?m a fan of that enlarged branding, plus the design is just appealing in my view. It?s nice to see that this colorway will be offered again.

Buy, Pass, Wait: Air Jordan 12 Alternate, Nike KD 9 Premiere, Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather

The week’s Buy, Pass, Wait will be getting you ready for long Fourth Of July weekend with a look at some of the biggest sneaker releases of the weekend. Looking for something to wear for your summer barbecues? Maybe those patriotic Nike KD 9 Premieres and Nike Kobe 11 USAs are up your alley. Then again, you might see this weekend as a time when people can come together so maybe Kendrick’s latest collab with Reebok might be the perfect fit. And of course, who can forget the obligatory Air Jordan retro release? We can’t, but that’s mostly because of pageviews. Have a safe and fun weekend, everybody.

Air Jordan 12 Gym Red (Alternate)

Nike
Nike

Juan Martinez, Editor-In-Chief: (WAIT) Much like last week’s Air Jordan 12 Grey/University Blue release, this pair would be a must-have if it dropped any other year, but with so many 12s and other notable Jordan retros dropping as well, it’s not high on the priority list. Hopefully this Air Jordan 12 Alternate sits for a few weeks and maybe when it’ll catch me on a good day. But I’m not losing sleep over not copping these, or 99% of other kicks for that matter…

Renz Ofiaza, News: (BUY) I’m a big fan of the silhouette and I’m just biased towards the colorway. I think it looks a bit better than the Cherry.

Juan Carrillo, News: (WAIT) I like this colorway on the 12. It’s not the best, but definitely not the worst. I’m going to take a chance and pass on these in hopes of them going on sale in the near future. I like them but I don’t need them.

Andres Carrillo, News: (WAIT) I’ve already picked up the French Blue and Flu Game colorways and I’m still trying to convince myself that I shouldn’t buy this colorway. I would much rather have the Cherry colorway but this is not a bad alternative, not bad at all. I’ll probably make a decision last minute.

Nike KD 9 Premiere

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (BUY) Kevin Durant claims that this is a $150 shoe that should be worth more at retail because of the technology and value packed in. He sounds like an infomercial when he says that, but if the KD 9 does live up to the promise, then this might just be the “steal” that he claims it will be. The Premiere colorway is so good I’m seriously considering breaking my “don’t buy white Flyknit/Primeknit because it gets dirty fast” rule.

Renz: (PASS) I like this model a bit more than its predecessor. This colorway is pretty clean and just appealing. I’m biased towards the shades but I’m not too tempted into purchasing.

News Juan: (PASS) There’s a good chance that I’ll be picking up a KD 9 somewhere down the line, it just won’t be this colorway. It’s cool and all, but I’m not crazy about the colorway.

Andres: (PASS) It’s exciting to see Flyknit land on the KD 9, but I don’t think I would ever buy a white Flyknit sneaker. This is a clean colorway but not for me. I look forward to future colorways of the KD 9.

Nike Kobe 11 USA

Nike
Nike

EIC Juan: (BUY) Well, I guess that’s two white Flyknit sneakers I might have pony up some serious cash for….

Renz: (WAIT) I’m always a fan of the USA/Olympics-inspired theme and it’s well done on this model. I like how white is the dominant tone for a cleaner look and the vibrant shades are mostly kept on the rear.

News Juan: (PASS) Too much White for comfort. It looks clean, but for how long. Maybe had he played in the Olympics and played in them I’d cop for nostalgic reasons, but since he didn’t, these are a pass.

Andres: (PASS) Same as the KD 9. I ike the Kobe 11 but not in a white Flyknit upper. Way too dirty.

Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather

Sneaker Politics
Sneaker Politics

EIC Juan: (BUY) As somebody who has been seeded the Reebok Classic Leather in mostly the same style and colorway (white and gum) a number of times through the years, it’s nice to see the shoe in a different light. Kendrick’s collabs with Reebok might not have the hype of Kanye or Drake, but sneakerheads that are looking for something off the beaten path and are into what King Kendrick has to say won’t be disappointed.

Renz: (WAIT) I’m biased towards runners and this silhouette is pretty appealing. Aside from the gang related theme, I just like the overall colorway and makeup.

News Juan: (PASS) Dope theme, nice execution, but I’ma keep it real with you, I’m not big on this Reebok model.

Andres: (PASS) I like the theme behind this shoe, but people will get tired of this colorway real soon. Kendrick and Reebok need to switch things up on their next collab.

adidas Tubular Nova Slam Jam

Sneaker Politics
Sneaker Politics

EIC Juan: (PASS) The Tubular craze continues with this latest collab that does absolutely nothing for me. If anything the “Slam Jam” across the heel actually detracts from the look of the shoe and reeks of Supreme-style laziness. Love the premium feel, hate the branding.

Renz: (PASS) I’m a fan of the sneaker and the clean colorway but I’m not into the fray detailing on its construction. That detail just ruins it for me.

News Juan: (PASS) The collaboration really doesn’t do anything for me. I’d rather buy a pair non-collaborative pair in the near future at a sale price.

Andres: (PASS) Have never been a fan of the Tubular Nova, but Slam Jam did a pretty good job to give some relevance to the shoe. All white again? Is that theme for this weekend’s releases? I’ll pass on these.

Get Patriotic With The Nike Kobe 11 Elite USA

Nike Kobe 11 7 Nike Kobe 11 8 Nike Kobe 11 2 Nike Kobe 11 3 Nike Kobe 11 4 Nike Kobe 11 5 Nike Kobe 11 6 Nike Kobe 11 1

A detailed look at the standout Nike Kobe 11 Elite USA is featured, as the model essentially pays homage to upcoming Summer Games in Rio, as well as Bryant’s time with the USAB program.

Saluting the Black Mamba’s historic career and the country with a patriotic palette — red, white and blue is simply the overall colorway on the basketball sneaker. Although it’s subtle, a notable detail is seen on the heel, which references to Bryant?s two appearances in the Olympics ? ?08? and ?12? respectively. Finished off with an icy blue translucent sole unit, other stylish elements include reflective accents adorning the sheath logo across its tongue.

Retailing for a price tag of $200, you can purchase a pair at select Nike retailers on July 18th.

Author’s Take

I like the silhouette overall and it looks really appealing in this colorway. The theme is well done and this should garner some attention.

I like it. The blend looks nicely done and I’m pretty biased towards the colorway as well. It’s something familiar but a bit different, and still a solid offering.

Release Reminder: Nike KD 9 Premiere

Nike KD 9 Premier 3 Nike KD 9 Premier 1 Nike KD 9 Premier 2 Nike KD 9 Premier 4 Nike KD 9 7 Nike KD 9 6 Nike KD 9 5

In less than an hour the NBA free agency period officially gets underway and players can (verbally) agree to terms with an NBA team and then sign next week (July 8th). Kevin Durant is the biggest fish out on the lake as he’ll have to decide between staying in OKC or playing for another team for the first time in his career. Warriors? Spurs? Celtics? Clippers? Heat? We’ll have to wait and find out. Personally I hope he stays with the Thunder cause I know there’s no chance he can sign with my Raptors at this point. Haha.

What we do know for certain is that KD will be playing for Team USA in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. He is the clear cut leader of the team and he’ll hope to bring the gold home with him. What sneakers will he be wearing? Well the all-new Nike KD 9 of course. Tomorrow we’ll see this patriotic KD 9 arrive at retailers that features a white Flyknit upper with complementing accents done in University Red and Royal Blue.

Retailing for $150, is the Nike KD 9 Premiere/USA a pass or cop for you tomorrow?

via: Sole Heaven

Author’s Take

I love the new Flyknit upper on the KD 9 but I’m not too excited about this colorway. I look forward to seeing future colorways and hopefully I’ll pick up a pair.

Are you interested in picking up any of these next week?

Vachetta Tan Leather Covers The Nike Air Trainer 2

Nike Air Trainer 2 1 Nike Air Trainer 2 2 Nike Air Trainer 2 3

The Vachetta Tan “trend” has slowed down considerably after seeing lots of sneakers dressed up in the luxurious colorway over the last year or so. Attempting to bring back the trend is the Nike Air Trainer 2.

Signature sneaker of all-time sports great Bo Jackson, this new colorway of the Nike Air Trainer 2 ditches the “athletic” look and instead goes for some lifestyle appeal by being covered in a beautiful Vachetta Tan leather upper with mesh detailing on the side panels. A white sole unit then wraps things up along with white laces and orange branding.

You can purchase a pair now from select Nike retailers for $110.

Author’s Take

The Vachetta Tan leather upper looks nice, but the mesh netting and orange branding just don’t look like they belong.
