Patriotic Vibes For The Nike Zoom Hypershift

Nike Hypershift 1 Nike Hypershift 2 Nike Hypershift 3 Nike Hypershift 4 Nike Hypershift 5 Nike Hypershift 6

If the Think Pink and Black colorways of the new Nike Zoom Hypershift weren’t enough for you, we now take a look at a patriotic colorway of the new Nike Basketball silhouette.

This colorway of the Nike Zoom Hypershift features the traditional Olympic color scheme of red (sorta), white and blue. White dominates the upper of this Zoom Hypershift while blue can be seen on the neoprene tongue, inner liner, laces, pull tabs and the outsole. Lastly we have punches of bright crimson appearing on the branding, and the Flywire on the side panels and heel.

What are your thoughts on the new Nike Zoom Hypershift? Are you a fan of this patriotic colorway? Look for the shoe to release early next month.

Author’s Take

Pretty clean shoe that sort of reminds me of the Kobe 11. I’m curious to see what it looks like in more colorways.

The Hyperdunk 2008 silhouette is “ok” in my opinion, but definitely not in these bright highlighter colorways. I prefer something that you can rock on the daily.

Top 10 Kicks To Watch For In July: adidas NMD, Air Jordan 12 OVO, Nike Sportswear USA Retros

During a Summer Olympic year, sneaker brands tend to just leave everything else at home as waves of patriotism take over. As you might expect since they are the outfitter of the US Olympic Team, Nike and Nike Sportswear will be releasing plenty of Team USA gear between now and when the games begin, and that includes a number of historically significant kicks that tend to pop up every four years or so, ready for the re-up. Between the return of the Nike Air More Uptempo and the Nike Air Force 180 along with new colorways of the Nike Air Foamposite One and red, white, blue and gold variations of the Nike Air Ultra Flyknit, we’ll be looking good as we cheer on our country to victory.

As we get into the thick of the summer months, adidas will be finally be bringing the shoe that we think could be the shoe of the season with the (almost) all-white NMD, Jordan Brand has a handful of retros you might be interested in and Reebok Classics will be releasing some sleepers you might want to keep your eyes on.

As always, all sneaker release dates and prices are subject to change.

Air Jordan 14 Oxidized Green

Solefly
Solefly

Release Date: July 16
Price: $190

The Air Jordan 14 is like the forgotten member of the OG family as sneakerheads often cut their Jordan retro collections at 13. But MJ did wear the Air Jordan 14 during his final days as a Chicago Bull and while he wasn’t there for the subsequent wider release of the shoe during the lockout 1998-99 NBA season, the 14s had a number of great colorways in the preceding years including this Oxidized Green colorway that will be making its return this month. It’s still OG to me, dammit…

Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classic Leather

Reebok
Reebok

Release Date: July 1
Price: $110

While the rest of the world waits with bated breath for whatever Kanye and Drake will do next with their resepctive sneaker collabs, King Kendrick and Reebok are quietly amassing quite the sneaker legacy that serve to not only get the people excited but also spread a message of unity, as symbolized by the red and blue colors that represent the Bloods and Crips gangs. The Reebok branding that’s all but hollowed out except for the “K” is a great touch.

Air Jordan 12 Gym Red (Alternate)

Release Date: July 2
Price: $190

The Air Jordan 12 Alternate serves as a reminder for what could have been for MJ had Nike really started pushing player exclusives back in the days. What makes this release interesting is that it could go either way in terms of being an immediate sellout or a pair that sits in stores. The glut of Air Jordan 12 releases this year could force this back to the middle of the pack, especially since it’s dropping on the same month as the much-anticipated OVO 12s (more on that later).

Reebok Question Only The Strong Survive

Reebok
Reebok

Release Date: July 1
Price: $140

Allen Iverson has lived by the motto “Only The Strong Survive” for much of his life that some people might even attribute that ideology with AI. To see where he came from and to reach the heights that he achieved – perfect or not –  is something to be admired and Reebok has rewarded his strength and loyalty for the past 20 years with 2016’s 20 Questions Pack that continues with this latest colorway.

adidas Ultra Boost Multicolor 2.0

sneakerprophet_
sneakerprophet_

Release Date: July 27
Price: $180

Yeah, it’s no Flyknit Racer Multicolor for sure, but the Boost more than makes up for it.

Air Jordan 5 Retro 90 Black/Metallic Silver

Release Date: July 23
Price: $220

Look, if bootleg kinda fat Spider-Man approves of this release, who are we to judge? The $220 price still sucks, though, especially since it’s just a “Nike Air” premium. If you’re still not sure be sure to check out our Air Jordan 5 OG ’90 Black/Metallic launch page for all the latest on this drop.

Nike KD 9 Premiere

Nike
Nike

Release Date: July 1
Price: $190

The Nike KD 9 is shaping up to be KD’s big sneaker comeback after a lackluster season with the Nike KD 8. With a lower price point and an appealing Flyknit upper that opens it up to a multitude of possibilities, this could be the breakout hit we’ve been waiting for since the KD 6. But as the Preheat colorway and this Premiere releases proves, Nike likes to keep things simple for now and then hit us hard with the themed colorway that are sure to get the sneakerheads talking.

Air Jordan 12 OVO White

Release Date: July 30
Price: ?

It’s an Air Jordan 12 in white and gold. I’m at the mercy of this thing, regardless of my own feelings regarding Drake as a rapper. This is what I call a makeup for missing out on the Air Jordan 12 Wings.

adidas NMD OG Vintage White

Release Date: July 15
Price: $170

As we mentioned earlier, this is the likely shoe of the summer as everybody is going to want to cop a pair of these beauties. With the luxurious Vintage White priemknit upper, this adidas NMD are the perfect kicks to rock to your many all-white parties. The only problem is that they’ll be so tough to cop with everybody lining up to grab them that you’ll only see them on a few lucky sneakerheads and the rest will be on eBay and Kixiry.

Another New Nike Basketball Sneaker, The Nike Zoom Clear Out

Nike Zoom Clear Out 1 Nike Zoom Clear Out 2 Nike Zoom Clear Out 3 Nike Zoom Clear Out 4 Nike Zoom Clear Out 5 Nike Zoom Clear Out 6

There will be more than enough Nike Basketball silhouettes to pick from with an Olympic theme this Summer, but it never hurts to add more, right? Of course not!

Today we get our first look at one of Nike Basketball’s newest silhouettes, the Nike Zoom Clear Out. The Zoom Clear Out joins the Nike Zoom Hypershift as the newest Nike Basketball low-top sneakers. Like a large amount of Nike silhouettes that we’ve seen lately, this Zoom Clear Out features an elevated ankle sock for a snug fit. This colorway comes with a USA theme as White dominates the upper along with Obsidian and Bright Crimson detailing. You can find this pair and others now at select Nike retailers for $110.

It’s also being reported by Sole Collector that Draymond Green is expected to wear this Nike Zoom Clear out for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio.

via: Nike

Author’s Take

There’s so many low-top Nike Basketball silhouettes these days that I’m beginning to forget which one is which. This Zoom Clear Out looks pretty decent but I’m not a fan of the orange outsole. I should have been red to make it more like a USA colorway.

The signature shoes of Eric Koston, Paul Rodriguez, and Stefan Janoski have gone on to be one of the most stylish sneakers for Nike on and off the skatepark. All three drop on July 6th, so get a first look here.

NIKE KOBE 11 1 NIKE KOBE 11 2 NIKE KOBE 11 3 NIKE KOBE 11 4 NIKE KOBE 11 5 NIKE KOBE 11 6

After getting a few looks at this new colorway of the Nike Kobe 11 this past week, we now present to you the official images.

This sleek colorway of the Kobe 11 Elite is being known as the GCR, or Great Career Recall. The shoe features a Black Flyknit upper with striking hits of Metallic Gold appearing on the Swoosh branding, Kobe logo on the tongue, and the special logo that has been added on the heels. Capping things off are minimal hits of red on the heel as well as a white sole unit.

These Kobe 11s have already made their debut in China but it’s still unclear whether or not they’ll be making a stateside appearance. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for more.

Author’s Take

The combination of black and gold is always a win in my book. Dope shoe, I just wish the sole unit wasn’t white.

We’re less than two months away from the 2016 Summer Olympics that will be taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this year.

As the U.S.A. Men’s Basketball team gets ready to go capture the gold, we take a look at one of the sneakers that may be worn a by a few players while they face off against the world. Up above is the all-new Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Low in the USA colorway. As you can tell, this Hyperdunk 2016 Low takes on the traditional patriotic theme as White covers the majority of the upper along with Dark Obsidian on the tongue and inner liner. The Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Low USA is scheduled to release on July 2, 2016 at select Nike retailers for $130.

Author’s Take

Even though the high-top version may be better suited for on-court use, I like the way the Low looks better. This USA colorway is pretty fresh as well.

Phil Knight Officially Retires From Nike

While we had anticipated this move for a while, Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike, has officially stepped down from his position on the Nike Inc. board. It was a ceremonious departure for Knight, who had made several media appearances since announcing his retirement in July, 2015. The highlight of his farewell is undoubtedly “Shoe Dog”, a memoir penned by Knight detailing his early years, the formation of Nike, and how the brand evolved to the point of signing Michael Jordan. Knight has sold his remaining supervoting shares in Swoosh LLC, making his son Travis in possession of 2/3 voting control. Apple CEO Tim Cook, a Nike board member since 2005, becomes lead independent director. Truly an end of an era.

Now we know that he’ll be lacing up this all-new Nike hoops model, the Zoom Clear Out. Nike Rebuilds The Nike Air Max 95 Neon

The Nike Air Max 95 recently saw the “Neon” colorway retro that took things back to the basics – even the box was fresh out of 1995. Nike Sportswear has no problem combining the nostalgia of past iconic colorways with new constructions and here the AM95 undergoes some drastic overhauls to morph into the Nike Air Max 95 Ultra SE. The side panel waves remain in a gradient comprised of a sports mesh while the net overlay is ditched for neon Volt and Black Dynamic Flywire cables. The Ultra Moire inspired outsole sheds some extra weight while the visible air unit still retains the cushion-laden ride. What do you think of this updated classic? Check out more photos below and stay tuned for a release date later this summer.

Traditional Colors On The Nike Air Pegasus 92/16

In addition to its standout Olympic colorway, the newly-introduced Nike Air Pegasus 92/16 is rendered in a more understated palette for its one of its other inaugural finishes this season.

Essentially an updated version of the iconic runner, the main difference for this particular silhouette is the utilization of a Hyperfuse construction that offers more breathability and lightweight feel, in addition to a comfortable Free tooling injected into the forefoot.

Sporting black as its dominant makeup, the stealthy hue is offset with a crisp, white midsole unit. You can find this women’s pair at select Nike retailers overseas first.

Author’s Take

I’m pretty biased towards this pair, especially because of the new makeup and I’m just a sucker for runners. Even though it’s listed for women, it’s versatile for all genders.

Aside from the women?s variation of the Nike Air Pegasus 92/16 Olympic that will debut tomorrow, another Olympic-themed edition of the modernized runner is introduced, this time rendered in light grey across its knitted/hyerfuse upper.

Promoting a much lighter feel and more breathability, the respective theme is evident with red accents on the Swoosh and tongue tab, followed by touches of navy located on the tongue and portions of its outsole. The shimmering gold accent to symbolize the first-place medal is prominently displayed on its heel unit.

All resting atop a comfortable white zoom sole unit with enhanced cushioning, you can find this pair at select Nike retailers very soon.

Aside from the Rio-printed pair that pays tribute to the city’s lights at night, the revamped Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 92 will also be treated in the Olympic theme to perfectly coordinate with the 2016 Summer Games.

Compared to its predecessor, the runner flaunts a more streamlined profile with its upgraded foam-like/mesh seamless upper. Rendered predominantly in white, the theme is encapsulated with pops of red adorning the inner lining and frontal portion of the outsole, followed by navy hits on the Swooshes, tongue branding, heel unit and portion of its mudguard. Finally, gold accents on the heel counter evoke first-place medal given in the award ceremonies.

A Detailed Look At The Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Low

Introducing the Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Low. The Hyperdunk series has stayed busy lately thanks to premium retros of the original model showing up in honor of Olympic season, but we’ve never seen so many different renditions of one of Nike Basketball’s premier models pop-up all at once. There’s the traditional tooling found on the Hyperdunk 2016, an Elite model helmed by NikeLab featuring a high-arching Flyknit collar to rival the crazy playoff KD 8s, and now this low top – undoubtedly the most understated of the bunch. Shades of the Kyrie 2 can be found on the midsole, a full-length Zoom Air provides cushion, Dynamic Flywire creates a lockdown fit, and the heel construction shows signs of brilliance. This White/Dark Obsidian-Bright Crimson colorway is perfect for the upcoming Olympics, but do you think we’ll see any of Coach K’s players wearing it? Continue onward for more detailed shots of the latest Hyperdunk Low and be sure to check out the Nike Hyperdunk 2016 Elite slated to debut in this summer’s Olympics.
