Heads up everyone! I know this is our first look at the Roundel x NikeLab Air Zoom Spiridon, but it’s actually releasing in a few days. Let’s take a closer look at the collaborative effort and hit you up with the release info.
The Roundel x NikeLab Air Zoom Spiridon pays tribute to Transport of London?s (TfL?s) popular sans-serif font? Johnston100. How do they manage to do this? By placing the actual font as a print on the shoe. The font was created by Edward Johnson back in 1916 and it was made to bring unity and cohesiveness for the widely used transport system in London. The collaboration will consists of two different colorway options, both donning the print all over the upper. Letters, numbers and even special glyphs all pay homage to the city’s 90’s theme. Adding some pop to the shoe is the 3M hits and the Navy and Silver noted on the piping. The Roundel x NikeLab Air Zoom Spiridon will release exclusively at Charing Cross station (Trafalgar Square Entrance) on November 9th.
Author’s Take
Very unique theme on the collab. The execution is dope. It may not be something I’d wear but I appreciate the creativity on the shoe.
