Kenny Smith Calls The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 The Self-Lazy Shoe

Nike released the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 in late 2016, the first ever self-lacing sneaker that has been made available to the public. We say this since the Nike Mag was only available through auction. For the most part everyone seems to think that the self-lacing technology created by Nike is impressive and would love to get their hands on a pair. But there are some exceptions.

One person that is not a huge fan of the “self-lacing” sneakers in former NBA player and current NBA analyst Kenny “The Jet” Smith. In the clip above Kenny Smith is in attendance at CES in Las Vegas and he is asked about the HyperAdapt 1.0. His response? It shouldn’t be worn by anyone over the age of 11 unless it matches with their outfit. He goes on to say that they should be called the “self-lazys”.

The sneaker released last month for a retail price of $720. Your thoughts on the HyperAdapt 1.0?
