Jordans that get the retro treatment have never made feel me old. It’s a little disturbing to think that I’m old enough to have owned an OG pair of the Chicago Air Sky Jordan 1, but I barely had a cogent thought in my head in the ’80s so it was never that big of a deal. But since Kobe Bryant has gone through his entire Nike line (twice) and now LeBron is about to begin his own retro reissues, it’s time to finally thinking about retirement. My OG shoes, not me personally. I’m not that old, dammit. At least I like to think that…
Anyways, when James announced that he was bringing back the Nike Air Zoom Generation, I was more than overjoyed to learn that the first pair to get the retro treatment was the First Game colorway. Set to drop on January 25 for $175, hopefully Nike Sportswear will give it the 1:1 retro that it deserves, which means the same quality, same details, and same color hues that made the original so beloved among the fans. And not a moment too so because I will finally be able to retire my OG pair that I’ve been wearing for a few years now and are probably a few more wears away from having uh, glue issues.
Check out the Facebook Live replay video above where I buck the trend of everybody showing off fresh deadstock pairs of the Nike Air Zoom Generation First Game (although if you need pics of them fresh, here’s some for you) and show you what a beat up one looks like since I wore the crap out of them. And don’t forget to like us on Facebook so you can be notified of the next time we go live.
