A Detailed Look At The Nike KOBE A.D. NXT

If the Kobe AD showed us what’s next in the lineage of Kobe Bryant’s signature Nike Basketball line, then the Kobe AD NXT could very well be the future – unique new designs rooted in performance-based tech that are sure to surprise but remain functional nonetheless. Today we get the best look at Kobe’s strange new model, the Nike Kobe AD NXT Wolf Grey, slated to release on April 3rd for $200 USD.

While the price point might turn some people away given the very approachable $160 USD you’ll spend to get the performance juggernaut known as the Kobe AD, this pair is right in line with with some of Kobe’s past Elite Flyknit tooled predecessors in the price department. That being said, the outsole has completely been redesigned. There are no more hints of Lunar or Natural Motion here, as a solid Nike Zoom base has an updated traction pattern. Nike puts most of their focus on the unique lacing system and woven shroud overlay with a drawstring tightening system sure to polarize. Contrast Kobe branding hits the heels to match the bold flipped midsole Swoosh. While this Wolf Grey option is pretty minimalist in terms of colorway, we’d love to see Nike Basketball add some patterns or graphics to that shroud for some DeMar DeRozan PEs come playoff time.

Select shops like Sneaker Politics and Nike.com will be stocking this pair on April 3rd for $200 USD. Check out more of Kobe and Nike Basketball’s latest below and head over to our Release Dates page to see what else the Swoosh has in store for the month of April.

Nike Is Using VaporMax Soles For Different Shoes

Nike loves to use the same tooling on multiple shoes, and it looks like they’ve already cannibalized the VaporMax sole for another model. No name has been revealed for this shoe yet, but as you can see, it utilizes the same foamless, full-length Air sole with a more substantial Hyperfuse upper compared to the minimalist Flyknit design of the VaporMax. Are you excited to see the VaporMax sole already appear on another silhouette? Or would you prefer they keep the VaporMax unique, at least for now? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and stay tuned for more information on this shoe.

The Nike Air Max 97 OG Metallic Gold Releases In April

Air Max Day is over, but the big-bubbled releases are just getting started in 2017. The Air Max 97 is back in full force this year, dropping in not only the iconic “Silver Bullet” colorway hitting US retailers on April 15th, but in another fan-favorite look from the past, the metallic gold edition. Not released since 2010, the all-gold colorway will be available beginning April 20th in Europe. While we hope that also means they’re dropping in the US on the same date, if the release is anything like the silver colorway that arrived in Europe already, we may have to wait a little longer. Stay tuned to Sneaker News for further updates.

This Is The Nike Alpha Menace Russell Wilson PE

What you see above is a Russell Wilson PE version of the Nike Alpha Menace. This Nike football cleat is said to be Nike’s lightest and most innovative football cleat that they have to offer. The cleat comes with features such as the multidirectional traction and the 14 studs on the outsole that will help Wilson get to where he needs to go, fast! Above you will see two different colorway, both which will match up nicely with Wilson’s team colors. Russell Wilson branding on the tongue and”DANGERUSS WILSON” branding on the heels gives the cleats a nice PE touch.

?We used an algorithm that dictated what the lightest, strongest structure was, and we built the plate based on that information,? Nike Sr. Inline Innovator and lead footwear designer Jeff Rasmussen explained. After analyzing data, designers moved away from the usual carbon fiber for a combination of different textiles for the outsole. The upper is comprised of Flyknit and TPU yarns for a lightweight lockdown fit.

?This cleat means everything to me,? Russell Wilson said. ?When you?re a young kid you dream of certain accomplishments and things you want to do in the sports world, and this is everything that I dreamed of.?

Want a pair? The Nike Alpha Menace Elite will be available for pre-order on Nike.com starting March 27th. Only 12 pairs of the white Russell Wilson PE will be available to order in his size 12.5 for a true PE release. While the Green pair will be available via Nike.com and on March 30th.
