The Nike Air VaporMax Goes Laceless

The Nike Air VaporMax debuted only a few months ago and many people can’t stop raving about it. Today we give you a look at what may possibly be next for the VaporMax with a look at this Laceless version.

Looking at the Nike Air VaporMax Laceless we see that the biggest change is the fact that it has no laces which have instead been replaced with an elastic strap on the midfoot. The shoe still features a Flyknit upper which comes covered in Olive for this pair along with a full-length Air Max unit in smoky black. The new midfoot strap is done in black and has been hit with a large white Swoosh.

It’s unclear whether this is only a sample that never made it to production or if this “laceless” Air VaporMax will be releasing some time in the future. Stay tuned to Kicks On Fire for updates.

Three Premium Pairs Of The Nike Cortez Designed by Mister Cartoon Will Release This Friday

Remember that lunch with Mister Cartoon that Nike Sportswear invited us to back in early June? Aside from breaking bread and chopping it up with one of the ?Godfathers? of Los Angeles, Nike and Mister Cartoon also gave us a sneak peak at a new Nike Cortez collaborative collection designed by Mister Cartoon. Today we give you a first look at this latest Cortez collab between Cartoon and the Swoosh.

The new Nike collaborative collection designed by Mister Cartoon consists of three premium versions of the Nike Cortez. Rocking tonal uppers, the shoes come in White, Navy and Black. Each of the three pairs are designed and customized with elements hand drawn and designed by Mister Cartoon. The end result is some of the most premium pairs of Cortez ever created.

The White leather pair stands out from the pack since Cartoon managed to remove the Swoosh from the side panels and replace it with a custom Cortez graphic. Adding even more of a personal touch to the shoe is the ?smile now, cry later masks? noted on the heel. The shoe even comes with a custom “CTOONS” metal emblem, custom insoles, custom Nike lettering on the red tag, a woven label tongue tag depicting the model’s 45th anniversary and some Gold accents on the top eyelets. The midsole comes in White and Black, while the classic rubber gum gives it that OG feel.

The Black pair is constructed out of leather and suede. This pair embodies the elements from the first two original Cortez shoes, reimagining the concept and combining both original designs into one new creation. Standout features include the large and redesigned ?LA? graphic on the side while managing to incorporate the Swoosh as part of the graphic. More LA vibes are seen by way of the Los Angeles in his signature script lettering placed on the heel. This pair also comes with a metal emblem on the laces, a custom woven label on the tongue depicts the 45-year anniversary of the Cortez, a White and Black midsole and a classic rubber gum outsole.

The Navy pair comes with a very unique construction since the tonal upper comes with a quilt stitch pattern inspired by the stitching in the Chevy Impala. Cartoon also placed a classic LA logo done in his signature script lettering on the heel, while the metal emblem (on the laces), custom woven label on the tongue, Gold top eyelets and tonal laces are also in play. Below you will find a midsole done in White and Black and an outsole done in gum fashion.

Al three pairs will be available for purchase beginning July 14th for the retail price of $120. The shoe will release on Nike.com, SNKRS (10am ET), East Los Angeles Community Store in store only and at select retailers which are listed below.
