Could This Colorway Of The Nike Kobe 1 Be A Potential Release

As most of you are aware, Nike recently announced that they are going to be bringing back all of Kobe’s signature shoes in what they’e calling Fade To Black (FTB) collection. This collection will begin with the Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 and conclude with a Nike Kobe 11. The concept behind this collection is that the shoes will start with all-white colorways and will gradually evolve in color unitl it reaches an all-black motif on the Kobe 11.

The shoe you see above is the Nike Kobe 1. A style sheet of the FTB collection was recently leaked and it had the Nike Kobe 1 listed in a Sail/Sail colorway. I may not have 20/20 vision but the Kobe 1 you see above does not come in a Sail/Sail colorway. It’s actually quite opposite as it dons a black snakeskin colorway along with gold detailing throughout the shoe. Does this mean that more colorways of the Kobe retros are on the way in addition to the FTB collection? Keep it locked for more information regarding this potential release.

Author’s Take

I wouldn’t be surprised if Nike goes ahead and begins to release Kobe retros in the near future. It makes perfect sense now that Kobe is calling it a career.

First Look At The Nike Kobe 11 Bruce Lee

NIKE KOBE 11 1 NIKE KOBE 11 2 NIKE KOBE 11 3 NIKE KOBE 11 4

A new colorway of the Nike Kobe 11 has surfaced, and Bruce Lee fans are going to be happy about this one. Once again, a Kobe Bryant signature sneakers is inspired by the Bruce Lee film, Game of Death. Being that the film is one of the Kobe’s personal favorites, it’s no surprise the theme is one again placed on his latest signature sneaker.

Just like Bruce Lee’s attire in Game of Death, the Flyknit upper of the shoe comes in a yellow motif in the front which ends up turning into black by the time you get to the heel area of the shoe. Hits of red can be seen on the lace tips, tongue branding, Flywire and most noticeably the slashed scars embroidered on the heels. A black translucent outsole, a black Nike Swoosh and a set of yellow laces wrap up the look of the shoe. Said to be releasing March 19th for $200, let us know what you think of the shoe.

Author’s Take

Big fan of yellow/black sneakers, and the colorway looks really nice on the Kobe 11. I’ve said time and time again I won’t pick up a pair of Kobe 11s until I find one that I really really like, I think I found the one.

In a celebrating mood? Take a look at the Nike Air Force 1 Low Nai Ke Chinese New Year. Although Chinese Lunar New Year has come and gone, any time is a good time to celebrate. Coming in an all-white aesthetic with Chinese New Year motifs, let’s take a closer look at these official images of the shoe.

The all-white leather on the low-top is contrasted by utilizing Chinese imagery in different areas of the upper. Images of things such as Lotus petals and koi fish make their mark on the Chinese New Year themed upper. Perhaps the coolest feature on the shoe can be found on the heel as the standard Nike Air branding is replaced with the Chinese transliteration “Naike”. Available now, pick up your very own pair for $130.

Author’s Take

The Chinese New Year imagery used it pretty cool, I just wished they used more of it on more of the shoe. It would have had more of an impact if done so.

Nike Mixes Up Premium Materials For Upcoming Air Max 1 Release

Nike Sportswear continues to keep things interesting for the Air Max 1, presenting yet another top-par edition of the iconic silhouette. Denim, twill, and leather combine on this intriguing new construction for the classic runner, giving it a distinct premium-casual look. The color palette in dark blue, heathered grey, and brown actually looks more appropriate for a fall release than spring, but we doubt that will be cause for anybody to pass these up this season. Find them arriving at select Nike Sportswear retailers soon.

Nike Brings Back Flyease Zippers To The LeBron Soldier Series

Nike Basketball and LeBron James changed the lives of disabled athletes everywhere when they created a special edition of his Nike LeBron Soldier 8 for Matthew Walzer last year. Dubbed Flyease technology, the model featured a unique zip-up system that would allow those with limited hand funcitonality the ability to slip into a pair of sneakers and tie it themselves for the first time. It was a feel-good story all around, one that even Time Magazine recognozied as a notable technological advancement. Now the Flyease movement continues with the Nike LeBron Soldier 9. The silhouette remains rather unchanged for a similar aesthetic, with the straps helping witha lockdown fit complete with a certain ease of slip-on use. An added zip construction hits the medial side, wrapping around the heel and connecting to the upper-most strap. Two colorways will debut this Spring 2016 season with more to follow at retail. Be sure to check out the second installment of LeBron’s Flyease sneakers below and let us know if you plan on picking up a pair by taking your thoughts to our comments section.

Nike Air Jordan 3 OG 88 True Blue (Black Friday 2016)

Release Date: November 25, 2016
Price: $220

It is being reported by Sole Collector that a retailer has confirmed with them that the Air Jordan 3 True Blue will be returning on Black Friday 2016 with the beloved Nike Air branding on the heel.

The Air Jordan 3 True Blue last released in 2011 but has never been retroed with the Nike Air branding on the heel. After Jordan Brand announced in August of 2014 that the Air Jordan 3 silhouette would be put into the vault for an undisclosed period of time and nobody really knew when we would ever see the sneaker again. It looks like we have our answer now.

If things stay the same then we expect the Air Jordan 3 OG 88 True Blue to retail for $220 and for it to release on November 25th.

Note: The picture above is of the 2011 pair and not the 2016 version.

Is Nike Retroing The Kobe 1 In More Colorways

Earlier this week we gave you insight on an upcoming Nike Kobe collection dubbed the Kobe FTB Collection, which features all 11 Nike Kobe signature shoes and the Huarache 2k4 in a series of tonal colorways. This is indeed a proper way to open the door wide open for Nike Kobe Retros as a whole, and it appears that alongside the Sail/Sail colorway confirmed for March 19th, Nike also has a black snakeskin version that we can, for now, dub the “Black Mamba” version of his first signature shoe. It features a very Prelude-like aesthetic thanks to the animal skin, with gold detailing and gum sole adding to the off-the-court feel. Stay tuned for more updates and we’ll bring you the latest on the Kobe Fade To Black Collection and more Kobe Retro releases like this.

Persian Violet Highlights This Nike Air Classic BW

Nike Air Classic BW Nike Air Classic BW 1 Nike Air Classic BW 2

Aside from Skepta’s blacked-out pair and a recent black/bright crimson colorway, the Nike Air Classic BW is unveiled in yet another finish of Persian Violet this season, which actually released a few years earlier.

Comprised of breathable mesh and tonal suede overlays across its predominantly black upper, the defining tone is evident on the Swoosh branding, collar section, inner lining, tongue and rear portion of its rubber sole unit. The palette is capped off with the application of white accents gracing the heel counter and flowing towards the midsole, as it’s also implemented on the leather piping that encompasses its profile.

Finished off with matching black laces and outsole, you can purchase this latest variation of the model at select Nike stores nationwide now.

Author’s Take

I haven’t been aware of this model until recently with all the recent colorways. I do like its retro design overall. This finish is solid, but not for me.

Not a bad looking shoe, but I wouldn’t pick it up in this colorway. Nike should make new colorways of this sneaker that can be embraced more openly by the masses.

What Did James Harden Do With All Of His Nike Sneakers After Signing With adidas

James Harden joined team adidas at the end of 2015 and hasn’t looked back ever since. While he can’t get his own signature sneaker just yet, it’s pretty much a guarantee that he’ll be getting his own shoe with the Three Stripes either at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2017.

Prior to being signed to adidas James Harden was a Nike athlete so you can imagine the crazy collection of Nikes/Air Jordans that he had. But now that he’s team adidas he has no more use for his Nikes. So what did he do with them? According to James he gave them all to his mom.

I gave them to my mom and told her to do whatever with them,” Harden said in an interview with Sole Collector during the 2016 NBA All-Star weekend. “I don?t need them anymore.”

James is a really busy guy so it would probably take him a long time to get rid of all those shoes. It’s probably safe to assume that James’ mom will give them away to friends, family and other people in need. By the way, Harden seems to be looking forward to his future with adidas.

“I?m very excited about the direction adidas is going. Just their entire swagger and approach fits me very well.”
