The Jordan Jumpman Team 2 in its original colorway of navy with white is now arriving at retailers, as new images of the model are now presented.

Bearing a quilted upper that’s reminiscent of the AJ 13, the sneaker flaunts a two-tone finish with the darker hue prevalent on the outer portion, followed by the pristine tone gracing its inner lateral section. In addition, the heavenly shade is applied on the collar, tongue, laces and rubber sole unit.

Other notable details include large branding on the midsole component in contrasting black, miniature logos across its ankles and more branding evidenced on the tongue label and pull tabs in shades of black and varsity maize.

I’ve never really paid attention to hybrid iterations of the original lineage. This colorway is solid, but I’m not a fan of the design. Fans should consider purchasing though.

With major Jordan Brand releases typically synonymous with the holiday season, it already seems that the end of 2016 will be worth waiting, as the much coveted Air Jordan 11 Space Jam will make its official return once again.

Not surprisingly to coincide with the iconic Warner Bros. film’s 20th anniversary, the clean two-tone (black/white) silhouette initially released in 2000, followed by its first retro in 2009.

This remastered 2016 variation is set to drop at retailers on December, although stay tuned in to KicksOnFire for further updates and details as they arise.

For this week’s edition of NBA 2K16 Kicks, we take a look at the Air Jordan 12 The Master. This is probably the easiest edition of NBA 2K16 Kicks we will ever do, I’m not gonna lie. Mostly black, with a few hits of white and gold? This might as well be the generic 2K shoe, it’s so simple. But as a fan of the 12s, I actually appreciate Jordan Brand’s resistance to going all out with the 12 and implementing all sorts of crazy materials and colorways to the silhouette. With the limited color palette, Jordan Brand has really forced themselves to be creative and the results have been great so far, from the Playoffs to the Flu Games and the Obsidian and the Cool Grey and even the Rising Sun. Although the less we talk about the Gamma Blues that dropped in 2013 the better, honestly.

Missing in the shoe is the label on the heel that states “Quality Inspired By The Greatest Player Ever” and for some reason the numbers on the back don’t match, as if the left shoe uses the Chicago Bulls typography while the right uses the old Washington Wizards. With a mostly black upper, the nitpick with that part is that the textured leather can’t be brought into the game. It’s one of the things that we hope will be addressed at some point in future games. But overall, it’s a faithful recreation of Saturday’s release.

With this latest set of images showcasing the silhouette in full family sizing, the sneakers are essentially defined by its stealthy black makeup, which takes inspiration from MJ’s ad campaign during the late ?90s. Comprised of premium leather, the understated profile is nicely offset by hits of grey on the side panels, white accents gracing the tongue and rear via branding and eye-catching metallic eyelets located near the collar.

Pricing is listed at $190, $140 (GS) and $80 (PS) respectively, so be sure to head over to your local JB and Nike retailer starting this Saturday, February 27th.

Is 2016 the year of Air Jordan 5 Low? It sure seems like it. Over the past month or so, I feel like a new Air Jordan 5 Low has released almost every single week. If you’re a fan of the low top version of the Air Jordan 5 and are looking for something with an OG feel to it, we have a feeling that you’re going to like the Air Jordan 5 Low Fire Red.

Just like the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red (Black tongue), this low version utilizes the same colors and color scheme. The upper comes with a white leather construction that ends up taking care of the entire base. Black and red accents appear all over the shoe to complete the theme as they are found on the side panel netting, midsole, tongue, lining and branding. Aside from the height of the shoe, the only features that differentiate the low top from the mid top is the absence of the embroidered “23” on the ankle, and the change of color on the netting. Being that the Air Jordan 30 is the latest Jordan Brand signature sneaker, it’s safe to say that a lot of Jordan Brand schools are going to be rocking the shoe for the remainder of season. One school that managed to get their own PE version of the shoe is Marquette. Let’s take a closer look at Marquette’s Air Jordan 30 University Blue PE.

The shoe comes in a predominantly white upper complimented by the University Blue gradient placed on rear end of the shoe. The toe of the shoe also comes in a blue hue to create some nice overall balance on the upper. Black accents appear on the collar, lining, tongue and laces. I wish they would have taken more of a risk, being that the shoe is a PE. If you would not have told me, I would have thought that this was just another colorway of the shoe.

While Gamma Green consisted as the latest variation of the Jordan Eclipse for grade school sizes, the lifestyle silhouette is introduced in another makeup this season, specifically for men’s sizing.

Flaunting a predominantly blue palette, a darker hue is utilized for its mesh upper, lining and tongue, while a lighter tone is prominent on its leather side panels which bear minute perforations throughout. Supplemented atop a clean white full-length sole unit, the midsole portion is detailed with navy speckling to perfectly coordinate with its theme.

Finished off with Jumpman branding on the tongue tab and rear section, you can purchase this latest variation of the model at select JB retailers overseas first.

Jordan Brand is gearing up for their final retro release of the month of February with this brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 12.

Known as the Air Jordan 12 The Master, this blacked out version of the Air Jordan 12 features a premium black leather all throughout the upper with the only hits of contrast landing on the branding in White and the upper eyelets which are done in Metallic Gold. Jordan Brand has also decided that they’ll be releasing this colorway of the Air Jordan 12 in a retro-inspired black, tan and orange box like the original 12s came in back in the late 90’s. You’ve seen the Air Jordan 4 “Laser”, but have you seen these? Almost a shoe of legends, today we get a look at a very rare version of the lasered Air Jordan 4 Retro made specifically for Carmelo Anthony in honor of his participation with the 2008 Olympic basketball team. The shoe takes the laser etched pattern you know from the retail Air Jordan 4, but utilizes a navy blue upper with red and white accents for the patriotic theme. The interior includes American flags on the insole, and the date 8/8/08 and USA Basketball logos on the back of each tongue. One of the only known pairs not in the possession of Melo himself, this unicorn sneaker is available now on eBay.

Two weeks ago, Nike unveiled their SNKRS Experience in Los Angeles for NBA All-Star Weekend. For poor schmucks like me who were unable to make the trip to Toronto, it was a nice slice of the madness that featured some of the biggest releases from All-Star, including Nike’s full slate of kicks, the Air Jordan XXX and the return of the Air Jordan 4 White/Cement. But the real highlight for me were the kicks that were on display and NOT ON SALE at SNKRS, including player exclusives from the likes of Kobe Bryant and Ron Harper, rarities like the Pit Crew 3s and even the Eminem x Carthartt 4s. But for me the real gem was an Air Jordan 12 in white and Laker gold with “The Glove” stitched on the heel, indicating its player exclusive status. It’s the property of one Gary Payton, only one of my favorite players of all-time wearing one of my favorite kicks of all-time.

We romanticize Kobe Bryant’s time as a sneaker free agent during the 2002-03 NBA season and the variety and freedom he had in what kicks he could wear. What we didn’t realize at the time was that a year later, a new teammate would come in and practically overshadow Mamba with enough Jordan exclusives to make even the most jaded sneakerhead cry with joy. GP’s lone year in Los Angeles had him rocking purple and gold exclusives of retros and Team Jordans alike and they were all high up on there on the fire meter. But it was those 12s, man. Imagine the Air Jordan 12 The Master with a purple mudguard with gold aglets and eyelets? Yo…

Seeing GP in Jordans during that time was actually pretty mind-boggling if you think about it. Like Jason Kidd, GP was a superstar for the swoosh during the 90s but both made the switch over to Jordan Brand during the early part of the 2000s as veterans who were not being asked to carry brand but rather give it some credibility. It even showed in the commercials they starred in. Who would have thought The Glove would go from this…

…to this?

Yeah, as happy I am that super-serious, ring-chasing, Jordan-wearing Gary Payton eventually got his in Miami, I miss old trash-talking GP who didn’t mind wearing a super afro.

But at least we have those Jordans to show for that brief era of Gary Payton’s career, so I guess it all worked out in the end. Well, except for the part where I don’t have a pair of these. Welp, I guess that’s why I write these Sneaker Grails entries as a sort of therapy.

This latest iteration of the Air Jordan 2 is set to be a part of the upcoming
“Poster” collection, that also happens to included the Air Jordan 12 The Master. Dubbed the Air Jordan 2 Wing It, the shoe is inspired by a Jordan Brand ad campaign that came out back in 1986, the same year that the Air Jordan 2 made its debut. As a part of that campaign, Jordan Brand released a poster that shows Michael Jordan’s feet wearing the brand new Air Jordan 2 while soaring in the sky, with the phrase “WING IT” placed right under it.

The Air Jordan 2 Wing It will come in a color scheme that’s very similar to the pair that Jordan is wearing in the poster. The shoe is constructed out of a white textured leather upper offset by the black accents found on the midsole, laces, heel and lining. The dark grey tongue will house the Jordan Wings logo, while the heel tab will have the words “WING” and “IT.” to complete the theme of the shoe.

Juan Carrillo, News: I’ve newer owned any pairs of 2s, only because the colors that have dropped lately are not rally to my liking. Although this version is fairly subtle, it manages to work quite well in my opinion. The theme/inspiration behind the shoe is alright, but I’m more into the look of the shoe, which I can totally see myself wearing.
