Jordan Brand looks to make a statement early on in 2017 by releasing this highly coveted new colorway of the Air Jordan 4. Currently known as the Air Jordan 4 Royalty, let’s take a closer look at this upcoming drop.

Opting to go with the always popular Black and Gold color scheme, the Air Jordan 4 Royalty is dressed in a premium looking Black nubuck upper. It it then offset by the bold hits of Gold noted on the branding and eyelets. Premium features on the shoe include the leather heel tab that takes the place of the usual plastic construction. It seems that Jordan Brand has a “thing” for velvet burgundy sneakers this Fall/Winter because they continue to use the rich color scheme on more and more silhouettes.

First it was the Air Jordan 1 (which is already beginning to arrive at select retailers) which will be followed up by the Air Jordan 11 that releases in December. The latest silhouette to join this “Heiress” Collection is a new one known as the Jordan Deco Fly. The new model resembles a trainer and features a velvet, nubuck, and mesh upper done in a rich Night Maroon hue. Metallic Gold is then seen on the Jumpman branding on the ankle and tongue, along with a White outsole.

The Air Jordan 4 dropped this morning in another premium colorway. Were you able to cop? As of writing this the shoe is already sold out on the Nike SNKRS app as well as a bunch of other retailers that made it available.

We know that the biggest bash on this sneaker was its $400 price tag, but apparently a good amount of people liked the shoe enough to dish out the money for it. I personally was one of those people that did like it, but $400 is a little too steep for me right now. The materials and colorways are very nice though, and you have to give Jordan Brand props for creating a nice Fall-inspired sneaker. The Air Jordan 7 Doernbecher Alternate comes covered in a black upper that combines suede and a textured leather on the overlays. Other details include a grey tongue, red & gold accents, and a speckled midsole.

Somewhat of a hybrid maroon variation as well, the sneaker pays homage to the Chicago Bulls’ color scheme with white, pure platinum and gym red accents covering its entire upper. This year, the Air Jordan 7 is the model chosen to represent Jordan Brand in the Doernbecher collection. 10-year old Damien Phillips is the kid who got to create the shoe. Let’s take a closer look at the Air Jordan 7 Doernbecher By Damien Phillips.

Damian is currently fighting through a hemophilia diagnosis. Throughout this entire time he has shown a tremendous amount of courage, even while at hemophilia camp, where he was awarded the Big Stick Award after learning to administer his own infusions. Damian is a big time fan of the Chicago Bulls, so when he found out he was given the Air Jordan 7 to work on, he was pretty ecstatic about that. The shoe has a Bulls theme to it as the team’s Black and Red colors are placed all over the upper. He also enjoy rock music, which is why he placed the guitar pick on the laces, while the heel tab is said to resemble a guitar neck. Lastly, the outsole features an animated graphic of Damien himself rocking out to a power solo. The Air Jordan 7 Doernbecher By Damien Phillips will be releasing on Saturday, December 17th at Nike SNKRS for $190.
